COMMUNITY CORNER

THE LANCASTER BARNSTORMERS played their first game at the newly built Clipper Magazine Stadium in May 2005. Since then, the Barnstormers won championships in 2006, 2014 and 2022. In addition, the stadium has been named Independent Ballpark of the Year by Ballpark Digest. The family-friendly park includes great views from every seat, as well as local food vendors, an arcade, a kids’ play area, merry-go-round, mini golf course and more.

Lancaster Barnstormers regularly gives back to the local community by hosting high school baseball playoffs and special theme nights when teachers, coaches, youth baseball players and others can get in free. They also provide speakers to local nonprofit organizations, schools and businesses, so the community can get to know the players and staff on a more personal level. Cylo, the Barnstormers mascot, also loves to get out and about in the community and often visits Opening Days for youth baseball organizations across the county. Garden Spot Village partnered with Lancaster Barnstormers earlier this year. The Garden Spot Skybox Sponsorship includes 50 free tickets for each of three games—June, August and September. Residents, future residents on the Radar Screen and team members will be able to reserve tickets. In addition, Garden Spot Village will bless CrossNet Ministries’ Cross Jr mentors and mentees with 25 tickets for the August game.

Director of Life Enrichment, Colleen Musselman says, “We are excited about this opportunity to partner with Lancaster Barnstormers—to provide tickets to our community, but also to begin a partnership with an organization that supports vibrant, purposeful community interactions in Lancaster city.”
