We are called by God to be the hands and feet of Jesus. Scripture says that we will be known as His disciples by our love (John 13:35). Jesus said that the greatest commandment was to love God with all your heart, mind, soul, and strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself. GAiN serves the world through humanitarian outreach because through this, we become better ambassadors of Christ. In this response by the people of God serving the world, the Great Commandment meets the Great Commission.
HOW CAN YOU HELP?
GAiN Blanket Drive: New or gently-used blankets are needed. Please no patriotic or holiday related blankets. GAiN Used Terry Cloth Towels: Used terry cloth towels are needed to create washable feminine products. Donations are accepted in the wooden barrel next to the Post Office by the Apartment Suites Lobby. For more information, please contact Life Enrichment (6007).

Summer is upon us! School is coming to an end, which means kids and grandkids will be visiting.
Grands & Kids Camp is later in the month and Vacation Bible School is in July. Opportunities like these, to invite family and friends to get involved, are some of the things that make Garden Spot Village such a special community. One of the things that Garden Spot Village is recognized for, is the way so many people live with a sense of meaning and purpose in their lives. Recent studies indicate that something as simple as spending quality time with children, like grandchildren, has positive emotional impact well into adulthood. Happy childhood memories last a lifetime.

WELLNESS JUNE IS FOOD OR NUTRITIONAL WELLNESS MONTH There are eight Facets to the Foundation for Wellness. They are Fitness, Faith, Finances, Footprint, Food, Family-Friends-Fun and Focus. Pick up your copy of the Food Calendar at the Wellness Lobby or the Welcome Center. Food is defined as “any nourishing substance that is eaten, drunk, or otherwise taken into the body to sustain growth, repair, and vital processes and to furnish energy.” Today we can get more information about food and diet than any other wellness dimension. Our days revolve around food. What’s for dinner? Do you want to go for lunch? Did you eat at that new restaurant? It’s part of our social makeup. Someone’s sick… take them soup. Someone just moved in…bake a cake. And so on and so on. Here is simple advice about how to nourish the body.
