MAY IS NATIONAL BIKE MONTH!
Bike Club Forming: Wednesday May 4, 2pm, Fitness Room Contact Lauren Graber (6228) or lgraber@gardenspotvillage.org National Bike Month incorporates several events including National Bike to Work Week and National Bike to School Day. The month-long peddle-pushing celebration encourages everyone to air up those tires, check your brakes and ride! Biking is one of the healthier exercises as it’s low impact (if you don’t fall) and cardiovascular. Biking also is an excellent way to run errands and get to and from work, and is an affordable, alternative means of transportation. Whether you like to bicycle alone or even in tandem, give it a whirl! If you do not have a bike, many vacation cities offer bike rentals. Use #NationalBikeMonth to share on social media.

BOCCE ANYONE? Thursday, May 12, 1-3pm
Bocce is played with eight large balls and one smaller target or object ball called a pallina. There are four balls per team and they are made of a different color or pattern in order to distinguish the balls from those of the other team. The game is played with two teams, with each team having one, two, or four players. For four player teams, each player throws one ball. For two player teams, each player throws two balls. For one player teams, each player throws four balls. When there are multiple players on a team, a playing rotation is determined at the start of a game and is maintained throughout the entire game.
