STORY SHACK INVITATION!

It’s so good to have these long summer days to be out and about, but if you can’t, it’s also good to have more daylight for great reading! Our Story Shacks this season promise you that. They are all about North America. Have you ever really noticed, no matter how near or far we travel, we cannot escape reminders that we live on land once held sacred by Native Americans? Out of 50 states, 25 are named from Indigenous languages, not to mention all the counties! A road trip in Pennsylvania takes one across countless rivers, streams and parks named by/for Indigenous peoples. Facts are fun for the history buff, but you might prefer a memoir, novel, poetry, or even a coffee table picture book. Story Shacks 2023 have all that and more…including a few children’s selections. All have been lovingly selected for us to get to know and understand more about our Indigenous ancestors and their descendants.

We hope you will be reading at home, on a bench, or in a gazebo, enjoying what will be available through September.
