Autonomous Republic of Adjara is one of the most outstanding tourist destinations in Georgia as well as in the entire Black Sea region. The leaning tower of Tbilisi is one of the city’s most unusual buildings. Tucked into a side street of old town, it truly is a bizarre structure. A huge clock sits in the middle of the disheveled tower, with a leaning column on its side. This eye-catching vintage house is the only house decorated with colorful stained glass windows on Tbilisi’s Betlemi Street, which is built on the Sololaki rocky slope. The old building dates back to the 19th century and is one of the distinct attractions for the tourists, having preserved its stained glass windows for over a hundred years. The building’s balconies are decorated with exquisite carvings and ornaments. The Bridge of Peace

elatively newly constructed the Bridge of Peace is definitely the attraction one wouldn’t want to miss in Tbilisi. It is a pedestrian glass and steel bridge in a bow-shaped design that sits over the Mtkvari (Kura) river in Georgian capital. It was officially opened in May 2010. The bridge was brought to Georgia from Italy in 200 unassembled components. The bridge is 156 meters long and has more than 10 000 LED bulbs built-in, that are switched on daily 90 minutes before the sunset. The Bridge of Peace is a convenient cross point between the Rike Park and the ‘old’ part of the town. It also provides amazing views of Tbilisi, especially at sunrise, sunset or night. The bridge was designed by the Italian architect Michele De Lucchi, who had also designed the buildings of the Presidential Administration of Georgia and Ministry of Internal Affairs in Tbilisi. The Bridge provides a view of Metekhi Church, Statue of the Tbilisi’s founder Vakhtang Gorgasali and Narikala Fortress on the one side, Baratashvili Bridge and Presidential Office on the other. In 2012, the Bridge of Piece in Tbilisi hit the Top-13 most unusual bridges in the world.

hachapuri, a cheese pie, is one of the national dishes of Georgia, along with khinkali. The dish is so popular that each region has its own variety. The basic principle is the same everywhere, but each area adds its own particular twist to it. The bread is leavened and allowed to rise and is shaped in various ways. The filling contains cheese (fresh or aged, most commonly sulguni), eggs and other ingredients.

harcho, also spelled as Harcho, is a traditional Georgian soup containing beef, rice, cherry plum purée and chopped walnuts. The soup is usually served with finely chopped fresh coriander. The characteristic ingredients of the soup are meat, cherry plum purée made from tklapi or tkemali, rice, chopped walnuts and a spice mix which varies between different regions of Georgia.

atsivi (literally means ‘cold dish’ in Georgian; also known as chicken in walnut sauce) is a Georgian dish made from turkey or chicken put into walnut sauce. The term satsivi is also used as a generic name for a variety of poultry made with the walnut sauce.

Tbilisi Zoo is located in the Vere valley just next to the Heroes square. The Tbilisi Zoo was established in 1927. It was designed by a group of Georgian and Russian specialists. The Zoo was further expanded in the 1930s. At its heyday in the 1970s, the Tbilisi Zoo was home to more than 1,000 animals and enjoyed more than 500,000 visitors per year.

Dolphinarium
Batumi Botanical Garden is unique as it contains flora from nine phyto-geographic areas: East Asia, North America, New Zealand, South America, the Himalayas, Mexico, Australia, the Mediterranean, and the Caucasian humid subtropics. Garden was established in 1912 by the prominent botanist and geographer Andrey Krasnov. The garden collection includes 2037 taxonomic units of plants, including 104 of Caucasian origin.
Dolphinarium is modern design architectural building, which is equipped with newest technology. Here you can see species of bottlenose dolphins and sea lions. Aquarium attracts the visitors with exotic fishes as well as with Black Sea fishes. Dolphinarium is equipped with water chemical and bacteriological laboratories, ultramodern devices necessary for veterinary and clinical-biochemical studies.

Narikala Also called the Mother Fortress of Tbilisi, Narikala is an ancient symbol of Tbilisi’s defence. The fortress was established in the 4th century, around the period when the city itself was founded. It was then known as Shuris-tsikhe (Invidious Fort). The name Narikala is said to derive from a Persian word for citadel, but another theory says it was the name that Mongols used, meaning “little fortress”. Narikala offers you some of the best panoramas of the city. It offers stunning views at every turn and is a particular delight at night when the city lights shine below.

Tbilisi Cable Car On 23 June 2012 a new aerial tramway opened in Tbilisi. Tbilisi Cable Car connects the newly constructed Rike Park that sits just across the Mtkvari River from the Old Town, with Narikala, the fortress that overlooks the city. The cars are comfortable, air conditioned and have large, tinted windows that provide excellent all round views. “Ali and Nino” The “Ali and Nino” moving sculpture in Batumi is definitely one of the most ideal and memorable sights in Georgia. In the opinion of most of the tourists coming to Batumi, “Ali and Nino” is a celebration of true love without boundaries and prejudices. It is an 8 meter tall moving steel sculpture by Georgian sculptor Tamara Kvesitadze. The two figures represent a Muslim boy, Ali, and a Georgian princess, Nino, from a famous 1937 novel by Azerbaijani author Kurban Said. The love statue begins to move every day at 7 p.m., merging for a short embrace, before leaving each other behind. After 10 minutes the movement is complete.
