teamwork
W
e are building a new publishing house. A project
that brings, in its essence, great expectations,
desires. We flirt with the matter which dreams are made of! In this ethereal world, where dreams dwell, everything is possible. And that is why we reached into this world to the formula that bids dreams come true: dedication, effort and perseverance. We feel in our soul the closeness to a prospector. These are characteristics that propel all who are involved with Garimpo Editorial. That is why this metaphor is reflected in our goals. Just like in a persistent prospector’s journey our drive is to extract from words in the raw, whether spoken or written words, a precious content, unique in its great value. Wash pans, aqueducts, shovels and agitators: tools mastered by the prospector, accomplices in his search for the precious material. In this same search, our tools are prose, poetry and design. We proceed on our journey extracting gold from the spirit, from the heart. Gold that is obtained from the upright and wholesome life. A precious matter we share wishing to promote growth and evolution to whosoever will make use of it. And in the same way that the hope of finding the precious matter drives the prospector, we, prospectors of words, work so that books, magazines, ebooks, audio-books, and any other material produced by the Garimpo Editorial will touch the heart of each individual thus transforming it, just as the prospector’s activities change forever his surroundings. We at the Garimpo Editorial hope that the result of our dreams, made real in the material we produce, will lead the reader through an unique journey, seeking the most precious of treasures, finer than gold itself.

UMA FORÇA EM MOVIMENTO (AN UNSTOPPABLE FORCE) THE BOOK The Church – not an institution or a building – is a force divinely created and able to change the world. But it can only accomplish its task as it involves itself with the community, daring to leave the atrophy of methods behind to free the creativity which it has received from its Creator. It is this Church, the one who takes on the risks to penetrate the culture with its marvelously subversive message, which Erwin McManus proposes in An Unstoppable Force. The author suggests a new cultural architecture which components can (and should) be found in a contextualized Christianity, keeping its values, but yet sensitive to the community, people, time and circumstances around it. An Unstoppable Force shows the power of a spirituality which transforms human history from inside out as it involves itself with culture in all levels – personal, communal, ethnic, national and universal.
THE AUTHOR Writer, speaker, pastor and social activist respected both in the United States and abroad, Erwin McManus dedicates himself to the creation of an environment favorable to personal and organizational creativity, to singularity, to innovative ability and diversity. That is why he prefers to be referred to as a “cultural architect” or a “spiritual environmentalist”. He has been to dozens of countries where his speeches reached over a million people from the most diverse of backgrounds. He heads MOSAIC, an alternative Christian ministry based in Los Angeles.
ENDORSEMENTS “[McManus] has a singular style, balanced and social appealing […] his accessible way to present content encourages disillusioned Christians and people searching for a spiritual path to live a more authentic Christianity.” Publishers Weekly “This book does not contain theories from a professor, researcher or critic. It was written by a real pastor, serving on real trenches at a local church day after day. He understands what a ministry is. Thus, read the book and learn. Read it with an open mind.” Rick Warren, pastor at Saddleback Church

EM 6 PASSOS O QUE FARIA JESUS (IN 6 STEPS WHAT WOULD JESUS DO) THE BOOK In a given moment in time — possibly, the instant after Jesus ascended to Heaven —, Christianity, according to its own creator, started to going backwards, contaminated by legalism, until it became just another religion. Faith, which should be naturally incarnated, was replaced by formulas and rules whose main merit was to make evident its own hypocrisy and frailty. In the book In 6 Steps What Would Jesus Do — A New Manual for the Behavior of a Follower of Jesus, Paulo Brabo turn history around and suggests a spirituality based on six practices that surprise by its simplicity as much as by its revolutionary character.

Live the intolerance to religious people Do the unexpected Enjoy it without possessing it Live totally immersed in your world Be available for the moment Sensualize your spirituality
The text brings to paper one of the noblest parts of Paulo Brabo’s blog, Bacia das Almas, referred to by its own author as the “final destination of ideas doomed to eternal renewal”. Intriguing, anarchic, involving, up to date and transgressor — starting with the minimalist graphic design — 6 Steps What Would Jesus Do challenges the reader to review (or even to abandon) the trivial concept of what it is to be a disciple and to embrace a different way to follow the Master, a fruit of a more natural, spontaneous alive and intense spirituality.
THE AUTHOR A n extraordinarily talented artist, Paulo Brabo has worked with several advertising companies and corporations in Brazil and abroad. Author of the blog Bacia das Almas, where he records his own insights on spirituality and life.

UM JESUS DE SEGUNDA MÃO (SECONDHAND JESUS) THE BOOK God wants you to know Him, deeply and personally. But there are no shortcuts to God. So often we too easily settle for someone else’s descriptions, the Cliffs Notes from another’s spiritual journey. We are content to let “God experts” do the heavy lifting and then give us the bottom line. And after enough times through the grapevine, the truth about God deteriorates until crumbs and rumors are all that remain. But when life derails, when things don’t go as we planned, our thin view of God is challenged. In those critical moments, we can choose to walk away from God… or let our questions lead us home. When you decide to wrestle with God, to engage Him for yourself, you — like Jacob and Job and David and Glenn — will see rumors die and revelation come alive.
THE AUTHOR Glenn Packiam is an Associate Pastor at New Life Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado, where he leads the Sunday Night Campus and serves as the Director of the New Life School of Worship. As one of the founding leaders and songwriters for the Desperation Band, Glenn has been featured on several Desperation Band and New Life Worship albums, including Everyone Overcome. Glenn is also the author of Butterfly in Brazil: How Your Life Can Make a World of Difference. His second book, Secondhand Jesus: Trading Rumors of God for a Firsthand Faith, was released in June 2009 in USA, and it will be released in Brazil in November 2009.
ENDORSEMENTS “Secondhand Jesus explodes with passion and desperation, because we are all in need of the real Jesus — the One Who saves, and in Whom we can place our hope.” Worship Leader Magazine “Digging through the ruins of a ‘house built on sand,’ Glenn Packiam lays bare the shameless lies of a way of religion, very popular these days in America, without foundations in Jesus or Scripture. But it is far more than exposé. This is an honest, personal, detailed story of a Christian leader refusing cynicism and embracing forgiveness and hope.” Eugene H. Peterson, translator of “The Message” and professor emeritus of Spiritual Theology, Regent College, Vancouver, Canada
