WATER CONSERVATION Rain barrels offer a dual benefit by conserving water and reducing stormwater runoff, providing an eco-friendly way to collect and store rainwater for gardening, reducing water bills and mitigating strain on local water supplies. Their use not only helps conserve water resources but also minimizes soil erosion and contamination by reducing the volume of runoff flowing into storm drains.

Biodiversity contributes to ecosystem stability, resilience and productivity. It plays a vital role in pollination, nutrient cycling, water purification and climate regulation. Protected areas and conservation reserves help preserve natural habitats. In Garland we have the Spring Creek Preserve, where practices promote biodiversity conservation. They offer programs to encourage community engagement and education. Visit Spring Creek Forest and maybe catch a glimpse of local wildlife. SpringCreekForest.org
