Garland Summer Musicals concludes its triumphant 2019 Season with the Broadway and Film Classic "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers." Adam, a grizzled woodsman, and his new wife Milly return to Adam's cabin to begin their lives together. Milly discovers that Adam's six ill-mannered, backwoods brothers also live in the cabin. As Milly begins teaching the brothers proper manners, the brothers kidnap six local girls! Students of the Dallas Young Artists Summer Camp present the Victor Hugo classic “Les Miserables” School Edition, adapted for young performers. Set in France during the French Revolution, "Les Miserables" follows the story of Jean Valjean as he seeks to recover a lost life after suffering years of wrongful imprisonment. The Garland Cultural Arts Commission, Inc. is pleased to announce the 2019-2020 Grant Program for local arts groups, historic preservation organizations and other artistic entities. Applications may be picked up beginning Thursday, Aug. 1, 10 a.m. at the Granville Arts Center Box Office, located at 300 N. Fifth Street in Downtown Garland. Applications will be available between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday until Thursday, Sept. 19. Completed applications will be accepted until 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 20. Grant money will not be awarded to any group failing to submit the completed application by the deadline. Interviews will take place Thursday, Sept. 26 at the Granville Arts Center.
