Garland Summer Musicals opens its sensational 2019 Season with the smash hit musical "Mamma Mia!" Based on the songs of legendary pop group ABBA, "Mamma Mia!" follows the story of Sophie, a young bride-to-be who dreams of having her father walk her down the aisle during the upcoming wedding. However, Sophie doesn't know who he is, and plots to find out by inviting three possible candidates to the wedding! 2019 GISD Senior Art Show and Competition Winners Garland Cultural Arts Commission, Inc.
On March 19, the Garland Cultural Arts Commission, Inc. announced the winners of the 2019 GISD Senior Art Show and Competition. This year, $3,900 was given to First, Second, Third and Fourth Place winners. The judges for the 2019 GISD Senior Art Show and Competition were professional mosaic artist Shug Jones and Garland Cultural Arts Commissioner/graphic artist Steven Phelps. The 2019 GISD Senior Art Show and Competition was directed by David Sanders, Coordinator of Visual and Performing Arts for GISD. This marks the 32nd year for the GCAC, Inc. Awards.
