Gershwin's new Broadway spectacular is a comic delight, set in 1927 in the midst of bootleggers, playboys, chorus girls and politics. Romance and mistaken identities combined with Gershwin’s amazing score produce a song and dance sensation! Nice Work If You Can Get It includes hit songs: Someone To Watch Over Me, Fascinating Rhythm, Nice Work If You Can Get It, Do It Again, But Not For Me, I’ve Got A Crush On You, Lady Be Good, and many more. ◆Garland Civic Theatre

Garland Civic Theatre opens its 2016-2017 season with the thinking person's Gothic thriller, Ravenscroft. On a snowy night, Inspector Ruffing is called to a remote house to investigate the headlong plunge of Patrick Roarke down the main staircase. During the investigation, he becomes involved in the lives of five alluring and dangerous women who lead him through a bewildering labyrinth of contradictory versions of Patrick's demise and that of the late Mr. Ravenscroft. There are ghosts on the staircase, skeletons in the closet, and much more than the inspector bargained for! Garland Cultural Arts Commission, Inc. 2016-2017 Grant Program The Garland Cultural Arts Commission, Inc. is pleased to announce the 20162017 Grant Program for local arts groups, historic preservation organizations and other artistic entities. Applications may be picked up at the Granville Arts Center Box Office, 300 N. Fifth Street in downtown Garland, beginning Monday, August 1 at 10 a.m. Applications will be available for pick-up from August 1, 10 a.m. through September 29, 4 p.m. No applications will be mailed. An official representative of the interested organization must sign for each application. Upon reception of the application, an appointment will be set for a mandatory interview to be held Thursday, October 6. Completed applications will be accepted no later than 4 p.m. on Friday, September 30.
