Garland Summer Musicals opens with Singin’ In The Rain
Singin’ In The Rain
Join the Garland Summer Musicals for this enchanting Hollywood story filled with brilliant music and dance. The 1920’s is the setting for this zany, lighthearted romantic comedy about the early days of sound film when a movie studio found itself scrambling to salvage the career of a silent film star. Spectacular musical scenes include the show stopping on-stage rainstorm. Hit songs include You Are My Lucky Star, Make ‘Em Laugh, You Stepped Out Of A Dream, and the title song Singin’ In The Rain. Singin’ In The Rain is under the direction of Buff Shurr. Staff includes Musical Director Mark Mullino, Choreographer Kelly McCain with additional choreography by Joseph Jones, Lighting Designer Susan A. White, Set Designer Kelly Cox,

Garland Symphony Orchestra’s Season Finale Join the GSO for their spectacular Season Finale May 10 at 8 pm in the Granville Arts Center’s Brownlee Auditorium. The GSO will feature Bizet’s Carmen Suite No. 2 and Rimsky-Korsakov’s Capricco Espanol! This performance will also feature pianist, Konstantine Valianatos performing Liszt’s Rhapsodie Espagnole!
The orchestra will be led by guest conductor Juan Carlos Lomónaco. The Symphony’s audience can look forward to a musical fiesta as fiery as a Flamenco dance and as rich as a bottle of Rioja! Olé! Young American Voters Foundation Panel Join the Young American Voters Foundation on May 4, 9 am-3 pm at the Plaza Theatre, for panel discussions to discuss the structure and administration of local government entities, the role of elected officials and educational boards, and the importance of continued leadership and community involvement. Company of Rowlett Performers presents this twist on a classic at the Plaza Theatre. The story is ages old, but you’ll meet new characters in this fresh adaptation: a brave mouse, a hesitant cat and an amazing Pumpkinhead, who changes into a coach! “Darkness into Light” by Faith Artists Faith Artists presents “Darkness into Light,” a deliberate discovery of hope, June 1-30. Faith Artists is a group of regional artists committed to promoting and producing faith based visual art that inspires truth and hope. Charles Lai Photography Exhibit April 25–May 30 view Charles Lai’s photography exhibit of his travels throughout the year in the Gallery Space. He visits the same places in different seasons in an attempt to catch different moods of the same spot. Dallas Young Artists present... Join the 5th annual Dallas Young Artists Summer Musical Theatre Camp and their performance of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, a humorous musical retelling of the Biblical story of Joseph. The camp is designed to bring children excellent instruction in acting, vocal production, and movement as well as workshops in set-design, make-up, playwriting and audition skills. Camp dates are June
10-28. All of this will culminate in a professional quality performance at the end of camp. The best experience for young professionals is to have a professional experience.
