Arts In Action www.GarlandArts.com
It is likely that the very earliest music ever created was for dance; the first time our distant ancestors first banged on a log with a stick, someone undoubtedly broke into the Neanderthal shuffle! Things have come a long way. From ballet to break dancing, music and dance are now inseparable partners. Many great composers have done their finest work when inspired by the beauty of dance. Some have written full-length ballets intended for virtuoso dancers. Other compositions use the compelling rhythms of dance in works intended for concert performance. VIEWING HOURS: 9AM-5PM MON.-FRI. & DURING ALL PERFORMANCES
Join Garland Civic Theatre for the story of Elvis Presley told through the eyes of 17 women! Some enthralled! Some Appalled! ALL OBSESSED! A fast paced play that affects the senses – heart, mind and soul – based on the life of Elvis Presley. From Tupelo, Mississippi where 11 year old Elvis wanted a BB Gun instead of a guitar, to The Steve Allen Show, from President Richard Nixon’s office, to Andy Warhol’s studio,
from Cadillac salesman, to Graceland guards. This is a touching, bring-the-family comedy where someone doesn’t have to be an Elvis fan going in to walk away with a deep appreciation for ‘The King.’ Performances are Nov. 14-Dec. 7. Tickets are $1522 and are available by calling 972-205-2790 or online at www.GarlandArtsBoxOffice.com. For more information visit www.GarlandCivicTheatre.org.
