Monday, Nov. 8 9 a.m. Caption Call offers telephone service that lets you talk on the phone while reading what the other person is saying with an amplified speaker. This program is federally funded, so there is no cost to you. A representative will be here to assist you.

Beautify your home with centerpieces, table mats, napkin holders, door wreaths and more. Impress your family and friends with your fun handmade decor.

Craft-Making 101 Thursdays 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Do you enjoy making a variety of different crafts? Attend our weekly morning or afternoon craft-making class. Express your creativity and skills by painting canvases, working with wood art, stitching small pillows and planting with the garden club members. Rejuvenate the mind with realistic arts.

Fridays 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Have fun with friends while you win prizes and enjoy refreshments!

Mondays/Wednesdays/Fridays 9:45 to 10:15 a.m. Just pull up a chair and exercise. These chair exercises are simply modifications of familiar exercises and a gentle way to build muscle strength and flexibility.

Tuesdays and Thursdays 9:15 a.m. Improve flexibility, relieve stress and tone muscle with the use of a chair. A great class for beginners. FIRST CLASS IS ALWAYS FREE!!

Yoga

Fitness Plus *FREE* Tuesdays and Thursdays 8:15 a.m. A low-impact workout that blends an aerobic workout with strength training.

Wednesdays 10:20 a.m. A mind-body practice that provides both physical and mental benefits. FIRST CLASS IS ALWAYS FREE!!

Senior Tae Kwon Do

Exercise Room Don’t forget our exercise room is open for use whenever the building is open. We have treadmills, two recumbent bicycles, an elliptical, recumbent stair climber, free weights and a weight machine available for your use.

Tuesdays 10:15 to 11 a.m. Train with a sixth-degree black belt. Feel safer, more confident and more agile. The instructor will use moves specific to seniors and their needs and abilities. FIRST CLASS IS ALWAYS FREE!!

*The cost is $35 for 10 classes and $60 for 20 classes unless otherwise noted. *All classes require a punch card unless otherwise noted.

The Garland Senior Activity Center and the Carver Center are recreation centers for adults 55 and up, offering an extensive variety of activities and classes intended to enhance and enrich the lives of active adults in our community. The centers are not a licensed adult day care facility. All paid and drop-in activities are designed for independent participation. Staff does not provide direct supervision or personal care and does not monitor participants coming and going. Participants requiring assistance need to be accompanied by a caregiver or assistant while at the center.
