Arts In Action Garland Civic Theatre presents Agatha Christie's “Appointment with Death"

When an American invalid is found dead at her Jerusalem hotel, a group of travelers find themselves among the suspects. “You do see, don’t you, that she’s got to be killed?” Mrs. Boynton was, indeed, the most detestable woman that Poirot had ever met, but he still had a duty to find her killer. The audience will be on the edge of their seats as the story lures them to its surprising conclusion! Performances are in the Small Theatre of the Granville Arts Center. Performances are September 11 & 18 at 7:30 pm, September 12, 13, 19, 20, 26, 27 and October 3 & 4 at 8 pm and September 14, 21, 28 and October 4 at 2:30 pm. Company of Rowlett Performers presents “Blithe Spirit"

Join CORP at the Plaza Theatre for the opening of their 2014-2015 season. This smash comedy hit offers up fussy, cantankerous novelist Charles Condomine, who invites the eccentric medium and clairvoyant, Madame Arcati, to his house to conduct a seance, hoping to gather material for his next book. The scheme backfires when he is haunted by the ghost of his temperamental first wife, Elvira, after the seance. Elvira makes continual attempts to disrupt Charles' marriage to his second wife, who cannot see or hear the ghost. Performances are October 23-25 at 8 pm and October 26 at 2 pm. For tickets visit GarlandArtsBoxOffice.com or call 972-2052790. For information call 972-977-7710 or visit CORPtheatre.org. Garland Symphony Orchestra Opens La Bella Italia Season

The ninety-three virtuoso musicians of the GSO invite you to join them for an exhilarating musical tour of la bella Italia! It is no exaggeration to say that the Italians practically invented orchestral music. From 18th century pioneers like Vivaldi and Corelli to modern masters such as Puccini and Respighi, Italian composers have enchanted us with melodies as rich as fettuccini alfredo and rhythms as seductive as a vintage Brunello. The Garland Symphony Orchestra opens the 2014-2015 season Friday, October 17 at 8 pm with a performance by pianist Simone Sala playing Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue.” For tickets visit GarlandArtsBoxOffice.com or call 972-2052790. Tickets range from $17.50 to $37.50. Special ticket prices available for teachers and students. For more information visit GarlandSymphony.org. Sept-Oct 2014 | GarlandArts.com
