Welcome to the 31st Far East Football Tournament! On behalf of the German All Stars Bangkok, we warmly welcome you to the 31st Far East Football Tournament! It's been a long way from the tournament's beginnings in 1981, which makes us very proud and thankful to salute a record-high of 34 teams and their supporters. The two-day event has undoubtedly become a tradition in the international football calendar in Thailand and a great platform for an intercultural exchange. Next to teams from Thailand, the German All Stars warmly welcome friends from Singapore, China, The Netherlands, Malaysia, France, England, Switzerland, Vietnam and many more. It's also great to see that many teams have participated for many years and visit us again in 2013. At the same time, we're happy to meet new teams competing in the tournament for the first time and are eager to see if last year winner's Olympique de Saigon are able to defend their title. The tournament includes different game types (11-a-side and 7-a-side) as well as different age categories with separate competitions for players above 35 and 45. Next to some high-quality amateur football, visitors can join free of charge and enjoy a full program of entertainment, live music by the popular Big Boy Band and – most importantly – German culinary delights. With 2-day catering provided by local German restaurants, we can all look forward to German specialties and German beer throughout the event. Last, but certainly not least, we want to thank all sponsors, voluntary helpers, as well as the referees who all helped to realize this event in the first place. We wish the best of luck to all teams, look forward to see fair sports and wish you all a great time! With sporty regards on behalf of the German All Stars, The Organisation Team Alex

The German All Stars Bangkok were founded in 1968 when Günter Glomb started his 17-year-long tenure as head coach of the Thai National team. Besides Mr Glomb’s third place at the Asian Championships in 1972, his legacy remains until today in form of the German All Stars Bangkok. The club was a founding member of the Bangkok Casual League in 2001 and is currently leading the table of Division 2 targeting to be promoted back to the first division this summer. Despite the long history of the club, the German All Stars are anything but old-fashioned. The team consists of all ages and nationalities. With an average of 60% Germans, the club is particularly proud to foster cultural exchange welcoming team mates of any age, with any skills, from any country, playing in any position. The majority of players are expatriates living and working (or studying) in Thailand with all sorts of different nationalities and - of course - including players from Thailand! Besides the weekly training and league matches in weekends, the annual Far East Football Tournament is the absolute highlight for the whole club. Everybody helps to organize such big event and ensure that all friends arriving from Thailand and abroad have a great time. We’re therefore all looking forward to compete and enjoy a brewed beverage with all teams afterwards.

FINEXSYS FC - Malaysia

One year later, but not necessarily one year wiser, our ageing, but intrepid, group of footballing office workers are coming out of retirement for more sporting action in the City of Angels in the Land of Smiles. Armed with ever more ice-packs, deep heat rub and analgesic spray for our aching muscles and creaking joints, and the unflappable enthusiasm of some newer, younger staff who do all the running on the field, we are making the long journey to Bangkok for the third time to meet old friends and play some competitive matches. And we're looking to make new acquaintances and arrange tours and friendly matches anywhere in South East Asia for the rest of 2013 and beyond. So, I hope you will join us in the fun that is the German All Stars' Bangkok Far East Football Tournament - both on and off the field. Just ask our coach. His tactical instructions are: "Go out there and enjoy your football!" That is advice all our players take to heart, combining their holidays with their love of football.

Latini FC successfully competes in the Cosmo League which is Singapore's longest established and most competitive amateur football league. Formerly known as the Italians, Latini FC has been renamed to reflect the kaleidoscope of nationalities that make up the team and the way it aims to play football - namely the Latin way - with passion and flair. The team is made up of professional expatriates working and living in Singapore, with French speakers (French, Swiss and Belgian) representing the backbone of the team as well as players from all corners of the globe, including the UK, Czech Republic, Germany, Norway, Japan, Italy, the US and Australia. Latini FC tries to live up to its motto "forza e onore" and has a tradition of playing quality and spectacular football. The aim of the team is to enjoy itself on and off the field and team spirit is fostered by very frequent team gatherings, social activities and participation in various international tournaments around Asia, including the Easter Tournament in Bangkok and the Phuket 7s.

...are a new team competing in the SIFL in Vietnam for the first time in the 2011-2012 season. The team is a mix match of players from Saigon, Vietnam but boasts a diverse heritage ranging over 4 continents, and looks forward using that diversity to exploit its advantages on the field and at night.

Making their 2nd appearance at the GAS Tournament, they have high expectations of trying stay sober for the second day and try to compete as well. The game plan is simple but we know our team needs to be aggressive from the start, so trick plays, long balls, and milking the no-offside rule will be in abundance on Saturday. We hope that, plus a little luck should be enough to propel us to the top of our group stage. Sunday we look to incorporate more of our tactics and play a little more seriously, probably because of a lack of players (either injured or lost to the of BKK). Most likely going into an all out attacking format as is our style, we will cycle players (possibly small local children), trying to figure out how to actually get an advantage from the substitution rule‌. Upon deciding to give up on that, we will get much better at one two passing as people continue to get tired from the heat and stop running. Instead we will form a giant triangle so that no one has to move much at all, thus leading us to victory. After the tournament and regardless of the results, we will be found in any number of fine establishments but we are always interested in hearing about new places and meeting new people so don't hesitate to come over and say hello to our team. Of course we are still missing a few players that we wished could have joined, but we will keep them with us in spirit and bring them some good stories about the trip and tournament.

SWISS FC - Singapore We believe that the Swiss FC Singapore is the team with the most wins at Asia's most prestigious amateur football event: the GAS Bangkok Easter tournament. With five wins in the bag the team travels yet again to Bangkok full of ambition. After a rather disappointing outing in 2012 team management thoroughly analyzed what went wrong. We left no stone unturned and even turned to the help of a fung shui master. He recommended we change the colour of our jersey and we obliged. So be prepared to see the Swiss FC in a rather unfamiliar black and white. Some crazy Brit said that this looks like Newcastle. Oh my god! Of course not, it reminds us more of Juventus, but then again we play our own brand of football, so perhaps one day this jersey will be known as the Swiss FC Singapore jersey. Off the pitch team management was busy in the transfer market. The most difficult task was to hold on to all players as bigger clubs knocked on their door while others contemplate retirement. We are glad to report that most of the key players will return to Bangkok, however a large number of our key players had to cope with long term injuries. So at the time of writing it is difficult to say who will be ready to play in Bangkok. But come what may, we are delighted to be back in Bangkok yet again and wish all the participating teams good luck (and us of course a bit more good luck). And a big thank you to the organisers for another top event!

SERVUS!!!!!

The German All Stars Singapore would like to thank their Brothers and Sister from the German-All Stars Bangkok for their invitation to this year's City-Of-Angel- Bierathlon. Our GAS Singapore Squad sees a record number of tourists joining and some of them even come to play football. Let me introduce you to the heroes, who will go for glory in the legendary 31st edition of this wonderful tournament. This years Reiseleiter is Mr X., who has prepared an auspicious and stunning ensemble of cultural delights combined with highly professional wellness experiences. Everybody looks forward to the Saturday night fever soaking away the bruises of a long day of football. Introducing the coaching team its our great honor to have the Stugggggarter Football Kreisel taking care of the tactics. Tommy B Burner together with his brother in crime Timo Hildebrandt-Kreuzband will ensure that for the first time ever we will bring back home some silverware and/or Tupperware. In goal we have as usual Katze Klaus, who was brought into the team after lengthy negotiations with U21 Coaches Rainer Bonhoff and Reiner Zufall. Klaus has a smashing track record of winning penalties since his very first penalty shoot out right after WWII J. By the way, his 25th tournament after retirement. As every year we welcome from Jakarta "Z". Also known as Magic Markus, who will enjoy his 1st tournament being married. Z - great to have you around with or without voice / hair - it does not matter. Speaking of guest players we also welcome die Massiven Toene aus Stuggitown. Stefan Burner is not a new comer and many ladies remember his body attacks off the field. We wish him good luck to score (this year)! Volker is joining the first time and will be introduced to the beautiful morning heat in BKK. We all hope you survive this. Also from overseas we welcome Martin Bock from Hannover. He decided to leave his family far away from the City of Angels. It's our honor this year to have our Midweek coach Florian S. aus M. in D. with us. He will ensure that all players will be at sleep latest by 11pm. As every year Madse B. won't miss this outstanding tournament. The first time ever in his football carrier playing with "Radlerhose" cycling shorts. Every successful team needs to have a Quoten-Auslaender in the Team. We have two (both of them speak fluent German though). We are delighted that Franzerl Brotzeit has made it to join the team. He has had tremendous contribution to get our sponsor Brotzeit locked and loaded and with this we have agreed to enjoy one or the other Vienna sausage together with him, as it will make him feel home. Franzerl fuer Deutschland ‌! Rino is well known in the BKK and especially Phuket "Fussballszene". After 2 knee surgeries (both legs) he wants to show all of us that we still can count on him. Somebody who is loved by the Bangkok Crowd is MBA Schacher. He is not only a Major Basketball Analyst (MBA) but also the man with the biggest turn around in 2012 - off the pitch. He has cut his alcohol consumption dramatically and utilizes the weekends to further expand his IQ, EQ and OQ. Well done Schachi and we wish to see you on the pitch this timeJ! You have to let go boys‌ Joerg, former GAS BKK Captain (the only "Ossi" participant this year) and Heussi used to stay "together" in Singapore for many years. And still, they want to share a room in our beautiful one star hotel. We will see how this effects your performance on the pitch. To make sure not having heavy legs on Saturday/Sunday I will make sure Ex-GAS BKK- Coach Matze will stay with you and sleeps in the "Graebele". For our none speaking Swabian folks: "Center of the bed". Same like "Z" it is the first year for BKK Matze playing at the tournament, or shall I say standing around, being married. We hope that pushes you on the pitch again. Our youngsters Lucas and Julius are joining the second time. Boys, we need you to to get a team together. Beside all those great guys, we welcome a couple of new faces and so we say Glueck Auf and Good Luck to Nicolas who had some outstanding goalie performances in our Midweek-League, Marc who absolutely wants to celebrate Easter with bunny's and Christian who haven't been in BKK yet. If you are an opponent you should now be scared about this wonderful German Team. If you part of this wonderful German Team you should be scared as well. Enjoy lah! Viel Spass, CASUALS GAS Singapore

The impressive twelfth century Angkorian Bayon Temple lends its name to this elegant team, which was established exactly 18 years ago. The strength of the Angkorian Empire is reflected in the depth of this team's character. The beauty and elegance of the temples is noticeable in the poise and grace with which they take to the field and is clearly seen in their flowing passes and general movement around the pitch. However, if the team doesn't get what it wants, the horrific brutality of the ancient Khmer kings is clearly evident in their violent and erratic behavior on the pitch. Bayon are led by their coach, good-old Billy "the Hat". If the Bayon players are in the mood, they will show his unique brand of total football, developed in his youth, around the time of Jayavarman VII. He intends to pass this on to all his players, who will try to write history in Bangkok. The Bayon Wanderer F.C. is a real team of "Wanderers" as the players are coming from all directions of this earth-ball.The team heading for Bangkok exists out of a mix of young and old warriors, coming from 10 different countries and 4 continents! Billy will still be accompanied by the flashing fast Ben "FCC", Laurent the French ever-mumbling goalkeeper, Marcos (our German representative for this tournament), David (Van Persie clone), Dr. Nick (who was our unique scorer last year), Big François The President, and Little François (not (yet) President). They will be followed by some victory starving new players, freshly recruited… As every year the expectations for a good result are very high and these players will try their best to reach the highest… to take the Cup home for the very first time!

B52 CARNEGIES FC Tapei - Taiwan

After a two-year sabbatical, Carnegies FC - Taipei are back in the City of (wet) Dreams. We have moulded together a group of reprobates who can honor the badge in a way befitting to the history of the club. We hope the Carnegies traditions and ethos will be kept alive over the weekend and you can come support us pitchside or in the bar for a beer or two. Moga - GK - Reflexes of a sloth. A cross between a Chimp and Crusty the Clown. First in the pub, last to the bar. Flying in from Sydney, but we all wish he hadn't bothered! Approach with extreme caution! Nuno - Portuguese nice guy, so he likes to make us believe, until he hits the Grey Goose and. then his naughty side comes out. Ask him about it on Sunday morning, if you have the stomach. Carnegies Legend! Chappy - Good looking, generous, affable, modest, dedicated to the cause, tenacious in the tackle, fearless, a man who understands the game. The man to watch on the field and unequivocally Carnegies' Messi. Xavi - Same name as the Barcelona Magician. That's where the likenesses end! Listen out for the Fuck Offs and French squeals. Thinks he is smooth! Xavi two words Bear's Arse! Russ Curtis - Biggest Twat at the tournament and all round wanker! One person thinks he's ok. They are wrong. Still recovering from his batchelor party in Manila. Lightweight with the drink! Edwin "9th Wind" Lee - bit of a deviant on the QT! Will most likely relish in BKK! Mike "Spike" May- All round good guy and the man who holds the team together. Doesn't fit the Carnegies mould until he puts his boots on. Then you realize! Franky "Twinkle Toes" Mosnier - I ll be surprised if he makes it to BKK. If he does then Sunday will be a no show for the team! Good back up to Messi. Nick "Peroni" Crisci - Italian Australian who still believes that a tub of gel in his hair is the way to woo the ladies. Crisci get a hair cut and drink a real beer. Fucking pussy! Damian "Damo" Cozzolino - reckons he's played in Italy's Serie B - Yeah, a right lying bastard. True Touring Player! Mike "OG" O'Gorman - Club Captain. Flying in from Atlanta, USA for the tournament. Another one who thinks he's played at a higher level. He puts MLS down on his CV. OG, stick to baseball and let people who know a bit play the game! Shawn "Magic" Mckee - It ll be magic if he makes it to BKK! Got more unpaid bar bills then Paul Gascoigne. If he turns up, Moga promised to buy a round of beers. Exactly! James Lewis - Man City Fan from the US (yeah explain) Not good enough to play domestic football for Carnegies in Taipei but brought along to boost morale and carry the kit bag! Don't expect a game! Martin Tromp - Player / Manager and self proclaimed "brains" behind the team. Martin leave the big decisions and team sheet to Messi.

HANOI DRINK TEAM - Vietnam (Casuals)

This year the Hanoi Drink team is celebrating its 20th anniversaryseason. On this occasion some pals from Kuala Lumpur together with a few domestic rivals but friends from Hanoi will join us in Bangkok to build a large squad of roughly 25 players in order to compete in both Open & Master tournaments.

By doing so we will double our chances to snatch some silverware for the football side but also double our strength to rock the place for the entertainment part.

We have no clue yet about the kind of trophy, on or off the pitch, and the timing of achievement, or night, but hopefully we will get something out of it and surely make it a moment to be remembered !

Lock up your daughters, lock up your wives, lock up your back doors and run for your lives, because the boys are back in town! That's right baby, we're back. Vietnam Reunited are here for the birds, the booze, the parties and the occasional football match. In the absence of Ben 'Peado' Peadon, David 'Rosie' Rosenberg will be leading Vietnam Reunited on their march for glory and debauchery this year, like a young Arsene Wenger, he gives very little tactical advice but keeps a firm hand on the purse strings. Vietnam Reunited are still on the lookout for a keeper, but all you other teams can be sure that this fella will be an absolute Cat so expect clean sheets the whole tournament. Patrolling the 18 yard box in front of him will be Fred 'Putain de merde' Auvinet, our token French player, and Sam 'fast learner' Morley. If brains were made of chocolate, these two couldn't fill an m&m between them. At left back, we have Rowan 'baldo' Gill who never gives up, despite numerous requests from the Reunited. On the right we have the French spy, Ian Pavitt(e), terrible spy, decent footballer. Utility man and Swiss-German rapper Stephan Geissbuhler is sure to shake things up either through football or a drive by. Staring down the forwards as sweeper will be Ari 'the crowbar', a man so scary apparently he made a herd of horses faint just by looking them in the eye. Lording it in the centre circle will be Erdem 'Donner Meat' Kara; as well as an excellent passing ability; Donner reads the gamebrilliantly, like a young Islamic Alex Ferguson. Partnering Erdem in the middle is a man of mystery and power, JR, whose power is exceeded only by his mystery. Galloping up the left will be Roel 'the Gazelle' Borremans, full backs beware! On the right, not so much galloping as floundering, will be David 'Rosie' Rosenberg. Not terribly fast but often beats his defender down the line by a nose. Returning to the Saints after a tumultuous stay in England, is the high honourable judge Adam 'the Hatchett' Smith, if he doesn't get you on the pitch, he'll get you in the court room after. Possibly competing in his last competitive match for Reunited is Mark 'Rapid Fire 2.0' Harbison, he's found it hard to replace Richie B both footballing wise and professionally. Making their Vietnam Reunited debut will be Jamie, Thomas and Emre. Emre, a former colleague of Erdem, when they worked in Erdem's Donner Palace is a nifty winger who likes to cut inside and beat his man. Jamie and Thomas are twin brothers who grew up separately and have only recently discovered each other. Interesting fact - they are the first set of twins ever to play for the Vietnam Reunited. Playing in the number 10 role is Rich 'Spectacular Own Goal' Langley who will be shimmying, ducking, jumping and swaying his way round Bangkok. No strikers so far, but we're in talks with Stoke to get Michael Owen on loan, positive signs at the moment pending a medical. O when the Saints come marching in!

V O O D OO F.C. - Shang hai (Casuals) There you go goes not much changed: For a decade the Voodoo F.C. of Shanghai has attempted to make a go at playing a proper brand of football. As the years have passed, and the job market outside of China wanes, it has begun to look more like a geriatric hospital than a football team. But, hey, it’s all about the banter rather than football, no? Average age -34. In 2006, the Voodoo made a bold move, had a one night stand on Soi 11, and nine months later the Voodoo Child was born in the summer of 2007. Led by some of the finest men and footballers in China, the Voodoo Child captures the spirit of its fearless leaders - Ian Dixon and David Roberts. This is a tour that will celebrate a man who has reached his half century mark (Dicko Dixon), send off a Frenchmen returning to his roots with the sons and daughters of Pele (Etienne Meyer), and a goodbye to a a player who is more Brown Bottle than man (Alex Ashmore). With occasional years of brilliance, and save the hand of Alla in the waning seconds of a league final, the Voodoo Child and Voodoo battle it out week in and week out on the pastures of Tianma Shan in the most competitive league in all of Asia, the SIFL. Our 2013 Bangkok tourney goal, not a massive one, is for our boys over 40 to make it through the weekend! All you underachievers, be ready for the Voodoo Child and our "burning Ring of fire"!

FC Sharks Schwerzenbach Schweiz

The Schwerzenbach Sharks, one of the most dangerous species in the northern region of Zurich, are part of the Football Club FC Schwerzenbach. It's one of the oldest and traditionally most famous clubs around Lake Greifensee in north of Zurich. The positive ecological-social evolution of the species has been favorable and has seen the team growing over the last decade. T he sharks have dominated successfully last season's local championship. The sharks have a long common history and have contributed substantially to the development of the club. Most of the predators have been swimming for 30 years together dominating this part of the oceans. The shark team is an exceptional swarm of sharks due to each strong and special species. Shark Reto, aka Radio-Shark, is our voice to the world, always online even when everyone else is gone. Shark Daniel is one of the most dangerous species across the Rhein at Basel. Shark Levi is our imported and well integrated shark from turkey, whose bite can be terrible. Shark Hannes - the silence around can be terrifying and once he as identified his prey there is no escape. Shark Tilly is the senior shark of the team; he controls large areas of the aquarium. Shark Stefan the captain of the swarm, strong in the face to face rings but treats the enemy with respect. Shark Peppe is our Italian version of the eye of the tiger; extremely dangerous when hungry (which is almost always the case). Shark Roland from the species of hammer sharks, he can be a real pain for all adversaries. Shark Fabrizio, as the grand father shark is the supervisor and the real chief in charge of the ocean. Shark Gert the German version of power and determination. And last but not least Shark Gianni (myself) - the reproduction of a lethal weapon. The big shark family lives most of the time in peace, enjoying playing football. The vision to visit a different country and culture and measure our skills in a different ocean is an exiting idea and has challenged us over the last few months. With our great team spirit we are convinced to contribute to make the 31st Far East 2013 German All Star tournament an awesome event to remember. We all are looking forward to meet you and to have good time in Bangkok. We would like to take the opportunity to thank you for the organization oftournament and the invitation. Best regards, FC Sharks Schwerzenbach

SPARTANS FC - Hong Kong After far too long being nice to our wife's and girlfriends, Wanchai Spartans with 'pink tickets' in hand are back to compete in the prestigious Bangkok Vets tournament once again. Over the years Spartans have evolved in Hong Kong to several competitive teams in various leagues from the Yau Yee & Legal League, but once again it's the usual old boys who have been attending tournaments for far too many years to step up & compete once again! So with the invite to continue to show our prowess on the field and staying power through the weekend, which still may remain to be proven by a sprinkling of "tour virgins", we jumped at the chance to attend. The Spartans spirit still remains the same, a social bunch of multi national (English, Scottish, Australian, French, South African & even a token American, if his court case gets rescheduled) players & supporters who after last years introduction to the Vets tournament will be tucked up in bed early on a strict diet of veggie drinks, all aimed at winning the tournament........ Honestly But if that fails the chances of half the squad turning up for the first game are limited. May I also Thank again the organisers for all their hard work every year in running the best football tour in Asia. Have a great weekend, Spartans Vets

The Farewell Tour It is probably no coincidence that one year after the GAS Easter Tournament was started, the Taipei Red Lions were formed. In a small pub, our founding fathers sat around a table, beers in hand, spouting the usual bollocks about how good they are at football, and thus began the oldest ex-p pat team in Taipei. Thirty years later, the Lions are still going strong, testament to the fine spirit that has flowed through the veins of all Red Lions throughout the years. And still talking bollocks about their exceptional footballing skills. Many Red Lions at this year's Bangkok tournament are familiar faces, having played at this fine competition many times (many more times than they will admit to their wives). It is the one tournament away from Taiwan that has become deeply rooted in Red Lions history. Every year we make the pilgrimage to the holy land, superbly confident that this is the year we take the Masters trophy home. Although we are yet to achieve that goal, our confidence is still to be shaken. Perhaps it is the permanently high levels of alcohol in our blood stream which make our firmness of opinion unwavering, or perhaps it is the fact that this year we have simply slipped a nice amount of Baht to the referees committee. Should the whistle be blown for no apparent reason and a penalty awarded to the Lions, then you'll know it was the latter. In our thirtieth year so too comes transition. Veteran of the team's finances, Paddy the Monk, has stepped down from his role within the Red Lions Politburo, and this tournament also sees the last action of Chairman Mao, before he steps down from the position he perceives as being just one level below that of God. Quite honestly most Red Lions will be pleased to see the back of him, having brought in a culture of fining a round of beer to anyone for no specific reason whatsoever, and the constant accusations of corruption within the Lions have been on a par with the talk about Lance Armstrong's stash. We're just hoping that there will not be another Oprah interview. So, the Red Lions squad for the Red Lions 30th Anniversary Farewell Tour: Chairman Mao: goalkeeper with Teflon gloves Jan-H Hendrik Meidinger: defender/attacker with a mean temper. Don't make him angry Andy "the Bear" Rooney: midfielder/attacker, who makes a dynamo look positively powerless Paddy "the Monk" O'Sullivan: defender, always happiest playing beer in hand football Mirko "the Carp" Messner: midfielder, the man who has never smiled. At least, there are no reliable witnesses Volker Nagel: midfielder/goalkeeper, the only efficient Red Lion Chris Grimaud: midfielder, locally imported to Thailand, but through and through Red Lion Charles Watson: defender, assuming he remembers his passport this year Tony Hewitt: defender, supporter of Man United and MK Dons. Although why he would admit to either is a mystery. But don't worry Bangkok. Just because this is the Farewell Tour doesn't mean we've gone off the radar. We'll be back next year to defend our title. No matter what title we win.

HANOI DRINK TEAM - Vietnam (Veterans)

1-Soontorn "Soony" Leoni (Krabi-Thai/Swiss), 42 2-Thierry "Titi" Mermet (Hanoi-France), 42 3-Stuf "Rose Mamba" Rouanet (Hanoi-French Catalan), 38 4-Alexis "Guga"de Rochechouart (Hanoi-France), 44 5-Luigi Discardi(Hanoi-Italy), 37 6-Ben "Ghandix" Mériau (Saigon-France), 36 7-Peter Reeh (Hanoi-Denmark), 44 8-Ricky "ilPadrino" BiancoLevrin (Hanoi-Italy), 50 9-Stéphane "White Bear" Lagrée (Hanoi-Groenland), 46 10-Pablo Pozzuto(Kuala Lumpur-Argentina), 46 11- Philippe Lubrano (Kuala Lumpur-French Marseillais), 46

Vietnam Reunited Masters are returning to Bangkok again this but this time with the support of our younger brethren who I am sure will sweep everything before them and leave it to us more mature players to do the right thing and go for the wooden spoon! Our collection ranges of rag tags that are based in from Manila, London, Sydney, Beijing, Thailand, Taipei and Saigon but the one thing in common is they have played their expat football in Vietnam in the past and this is the chance to Reunite, both on and off the field during a splendid weekend in the City of Angels. The above photo in no way reflects the talent on the field but it's the only one I got! Having not got much time to write more before Jens kills me I would just like to say we look forward to taking part again and a big thanks to the GAS for organizing a great tournament. HIBERNIANS FC - Singapore

"After several years of entering the GAS Easter tournament in Bangkok, the Hibs gladiators have bode farewell to their historic tour leader Jon Westerby. Although he might just lurk around the corner donning the jersey of another team this time, well let's see. Anyway another version is that Hibs Singapore, in an effort to instill better result-oriented, no haphazard attitude, were piqued by the walk-over defeat conceded to GAS in their first match of last year tournament, guess what due to late arrival of their Magical Mystery Tour bus at the merry grounds of Pattana School. Which eventually cost us a potential chance for trophy glory, having held our chins high against the diabolic Phuket pizzaiolos. Decision makers, under constant pressure from sponsors and weary to up the ante, immediately opted for the sacking of the tour manager, notwithstanding his many attempts to buy rounds of drinks in the wrap-up meetings held at various venues (Baccarat lounge, etc). So pressure is on for incoming JC to get the morning bus and driver properly sorted out this time. The rest is probably difficult to predict, except that Tunners will be out with a vengeance against any expletive-laden pizzaiolo, our club president has to make amends for late drop-out and we will want to improve on our 3rd place in last year 7s competition. Fresh on the heels from finishing runners up in Phuket last November. Watch out for the Hibs!"

Red Star KL - Malaysia

Red Star Kuala Lumpur has joined several South East Asia tournaments and is as ever in Bangkok for this great long weekend. Red Star was found 10 years ago - in a bar in Bangkok - and along the way we lost some of our prices (and players) in this and other local bars. We are playing in the KL expatt and veterans league and are looking forward for the fun, networking and hopefully many goals! Red Star player's profiles: > Mark, the legend from Singapore, speaks fluent Thai and has telephone numbers of 25 nurses due to his injury last year; he joined this tournament even before Red Star was found and hence is our local night guide (I am sure he prepared a tough evening schedule for the team as mental coach) > Pelle, Red Star's international tournament manager and ex professional player from Persib Bandung, will bring the Dutch winning mentality with samba football to Bangkok. > Rob, team manager and founder. As the CEO of Little Gym KL, you might see Rob climbing in poles with corners, defending while doing a handstand or making a header after a forward role! If you are in for Pies, hurry as he might finish them soonest at the old sailor's pub where kids from Gavin Keegan as running the show nowadays. > Wim, also new to this tour, scored more goals than Messie and Ronaldo together in the KL league this year, and might be target to the scouts over South-East Asia; this 48 hour energetic Dutch is better than v. Persie (talking about the 3rd half). > Ollie, our first real goalie tiger since 5 years, is new to the tournament, making sure we are well dressed as shirts sponsor. He will be the only one 'diving' in our fair play team. > Jason is back as another dangerous striker, usually recognized on the pitch full of action, smooth passes and talking your ears of. > Goggs, playing more Thai soccer tours than anyone, was voted most sexy player of the Patthaya tour last year (although stories go that the jury was made up of lady-boys). > Joe, new to Red Star, more laid back than anyone, but playing like an Australian Footballer when needed; the diesel in midfield and don't get surprised if he starts drilling a well on the pitch.

At the end of last year we won for the first time ever our normal Veterans tournament. The show started with an unbelievable goal from David Lush. He managed to make a goal out from a corner kick- unforgettable. It was a nail biting finale and Pablo Hitters made the final goal however we had one player less on the pitch. Pablo went back to Buenos Aires in the mean time. Pablo, thanks again for this goal and for the great time we spent together. I also want to mention that Tim Heile came from Tokyo to join the tournament. What a spirit! In January we won the Hoffenheim supporters tournament for the 2nd time. This is a charity event organized from the Swiss School in Bangkok. We won each single match and we played also the most beautiful football. Of course the GAS also closed the party. Now we are nearly finished to organize our own tournament. Jens Buskies and all the others, thank you so much for your great work. So welcome to our 31st Easter tournament. Playing football, meeting friends and share some beers‌ that's what it is all about... Hasi (The Coach)

"The cream of the cream - this is what the GAS Singapore Vets are standing for (even moving such ass cream). With the mixture of experience and technical proven skills on and off the pitch the "Mannsschaft" is happy to be back in Bangkok and go for the cup. We decided internally that we will not mention our names anymore to make sure our opponents cannot identify us the nights before the imporrtant games and take advantage of the one or other weakness of our players just to protect the playyers and make sure they will be 100 % fit and mentally prepared for the games. We even stopped to praactise in Singapore to make sure no unforeseeable injuries will happen and we can enjoy as many yearss before the tournament in the City of Angels - Bangkok. As stated we are not sharing our names witth you but for sure our tactics ! There are none beside, if we do not get a goal we will not loose an nd if we are at the end a goal ahead we won - football can be so easy folks. We wish all the players again remarkable time in Bangkok - nice games - fabulous evenings downtown and GAS Bangkok another great tournament. Looking forward to compete with all of you on and off the pitch and especially for the party on Sunday night - an event nobody should really miss. V O O D OO F.C. - Shanghai (V eterans) There you go goes not much changed: For a decade the Voodoo F.C. of Shanghai has attempted to make a go at playing a proper brand of football.

Sexy FC Allstars - China

Alan Hough - Goalkeeper - English - 46…. A big tournament 2 years ago both on and off the field, don't be expecting a repeat performance from this aging geriatric, as the likelihood of him keeping a clean sheet and not paying for sex defy all known probabilities - still anything is possible, if he is on, the team will do well, if the women are on, the team could still do well…Stay tuned…. Derek Davies - Midfield - Welsh- 51 (at least) This man of Granit / Steel / apparently is getting more action at 50 than he did at 30, the reason is simple; Viagra was not invented 20 years ago. Expect to see shorts bursts of activity on the field and also (apparently) in the bedroom! Andrew Barnes - Defense - English - 42 Sadly due to nature taking its toll, the conditions may not be right for the former Mongolian Ambassador to make an appearance, the grass may be too long, the ground unstable, maybe it's too hot or the wind is too strong, but if he plays he is capable of being our best player as proved 2 years ago when we won the title. If you see him on the field take a photo it's a rare occurrence, if you see him out past 10pm, do the same thing!!! - sigh………how the mighty have fallen !!!

Jamie O Neil - Midfield - Scottish - 37 The former club captain and Manila Tourist is a welcome addition to the Veterans Squad and adds quality to the midfield (of sorts) and it will be interesting to see if the former Kai Pole Dancer and Manila Streaker can make an impression off-field and be a contender for Man of the tour? I am not sure if the locals will be able to decipher the THICK Scottish tones but not to worry, Jamie is a man of simple principals, give him thefuckin ball in the game, make sure you pay your fuckinround of drinks (Hanoi!) and negotiate the price before you take herfuckin home. What more is their? Martin Kuehl - Midfield - German - 41 How he can find the time or energy to tour with 4 kids is beyond us mere mortals but "Daddy Kuehl" is again slated to make an appearance - sadly he didn't come 2 years ago and we won the tournament and had a great time, so you do the math ! PS - It's a short write up because he won't turn up……… Max Tunon - Striker - English / Pananma - 35 Our local hothead/Dickhead - will cause chaos on and off the field and is our resident guide and compare for the evening festivities, possibly our only decent fit player, he is likely to be playing for several teams around Bangkok during the weekend, so appearances will be few and far between. Will be playing up front but who will be fit enough to actually get the ball to him remains to be seen, also a top contender for getting sent off or beat up! Sill holds a key place in the club hall of fame for marrying a curry night bird - how do you top that? Chris Murphy - Midfield - English - 41 No tour can function without the clubs CEO , and Chris brings a new level of immaturity never before seen by a respectable businessman and father. Feisty on the field and off, the CEO leads by example, taking 5 chicks to a nightclub last tour still ranks as an impressive performance, for young twinkle toes… This year's top contender to get injured on the field and get a groin strain off it !! Sam Pearson - Attack - New Zeland- 35 Sam "the Douch" has finally (apparently) got a real job with a real salary so now finally can join the tours which is good news, because he is a decent player and a deadly combination on field with Max , but sadly not off it ! The Thai's will obviously warm to the cuddly Kiwi until they find his wallet as light as his banter! MikeyIanini- Attack - American - 39 The team was secretly optimistic that since he is a newlywed, we would be spared his annoying habits, but NO! Somehow he has survived and got on the tour, which of course is very good news (I think) as this tenacious American is good value on and off the field, the voting 2 years ago is still lauded as one of the best nights out in club history, and who can forget the Mamasan incident!!! Welcome back! Bradley Way- Defense- American - 38 Dr.Burgos also holds the distinction of also having a write up and NOT turned up for the tour. This is due to his inability to hold a job down for more than a month, if he comes, expect to find him looking up at the ceiling in Bacorat and looking down at the grass on the field, not the most coordinated on the field or in the bedroom, so I'm told! Micheal Oneal- Defence - English /Irish - 41 Obviously there must be a cheap flight hotel deal to entice this tight bastard out of Hong Kong - as famous for his fiery play as well as his financial tightness, we welcome him back to Bangkok, his wife can relax , because there is not a chance in hell that Hanoi will spend 1 baht more than absolutely necessary, look for him in happy hour bars and hitting on the backpackers… Alexander Von Rodden- Defence - German - 40 Our illustrious team benefactor has once again paid the entry fee on behalf of the team. OF COURSE, this is the only way he could ever possibly be selected to play in a real football team because he is crap, but….. he pays the dosh so we let him play!.... Has become all serious in relationship stuff since his last visit, will the city of Angels offer him any Angel Delight?

FC Farang Koh Pangan - Thailand This is FC Farang third successive year. But first time in the vet's competition. Here's the squad that's representing this year.....

#1 John 'Popeye' Aston. 'GOALKEEPER' Renowned for throwing tantrums and waving his arms around when his defence (the sun/cap/pitch or whatever else you can think off!) are not performing well. But other then that the calmest goalkeeper you'll meet (don't believe that last comment) #5 Tony 'Ram man' Squibb. 'DEFENDER' Is a no nonsense defender (i.e, no sense in defending). Tony loves to run and run and run and yep you've guessed it run. However, we are still unsure where he runs to?! That's not the only moving he does, occasionally can be seen doing monkey robots on the dance floor! #7 Mark 'Mutley' Ostergaard. 'ASSISTANT COACH' Coach's partner in crime. Doesn't move around the pitch to often in fear of hurting a muscle or ligament as they seem to be made from glass. Rumour has it has once pulled a hamstring doing up his laces, this year we are taking no chances by making him assistant coach. Fingers crossed! #9 Soren 'Dick Dastardly' Kristensen. 'COACH/UTILITY' Coach, Goalkeeper, Defender, Midfielder, Striker, these are the positions the coach believes he can play. Who are we to argue he's the coach, he'll pick himself anyway! Beware of his constant laughing and scheming, his always got a plan or up to something under the cover of darkness. Just keep a look out for those big white eyes and distinctive laugh! #10 Fabio 'Captain Caveman'. 'PHYSIO' Not only the hairiest on the team but most likely the worst choice for Physio as the only thing he'll be nursing is a couple of burgers or the food buffet. Not really known for his running, but definitely one of the best finishers in the team in the food sense! #11 Chris 'Pink Panther' Jaggi. 'STRIKER' Like the Pink Panther has very little to say. Claims to be Swiss/French but the team are still unsure as no one has really heard him speak. But to his credit he has since added to his vocabulary with such classics as... Fucking English/French, Fantastic and I love my coach! #12 Eugen 'Count Duckula' Popa. 'MIDFIELDER' Like Count Duckula he doesn't drink blood, only eats vegetables and is from Transylvania. I do believe ducks are shit at football so that's 4 things in common! #13 Connor 'Charlie O'Brown' Rooney. 'MIDFIELDER' A new recruit from Ireland on his first FC Farang tour. Write up to follow next year as this is his first excursion! #14 Oliver 'Mr. Benn' Way. 'DEFENDER' An all action defender. You believe that you'll believe anything. More like bambi on ice! #15 Alex 'Casper the Friendly Ghost' Beet. 'DEFENDER' Another virgin on tour, between him and Connor they will be the only virgins in Bangkok. The true Veteran of he team at the grand old age of 53, like a fine whiskey it matures with age (apparently), we're still waiting...! #16 Richard 'Mr Krab' Evans. 'MIDFIELDER' The Crab does what it says on the tin. Moves sideways and funnily enough passes the same. never dreams of going forward. But you won't see a quicker player move side to side!

BANGKOKHOSPITAL GERIATRICS Thailand

The newest addition to the Bangkok football circuit, this team was specially recruited from the Bangkok Hospital Geriatric Nurse Department. A stroke of genius in terms of marketing and vertical integration, our team has the ability of providing both injuries and healthcare services in one convenient package! They say age is nothing but a number. As professionals engaged in various aspects of healthcare, the Bangkok Hospital +45 team can definitively say that this is most certainly not the case. Age is in fact the inevitable cellular degradation into the abyss of slow healing and slower healing hangovers. But there are perks as well, such as getting to play football with other goodhearted, superannuated kindred spirits. For this we wish to give a special thanks to the German All Stars, and we look forward to competing and celebrating (win or lose) in this unique tournament.

Rules of Competition 2013 In general, all FIFA rules apply to this Tournament. Major exceptions and clarifications are described below. In line with officially practiced FIFA rules, the Referee’s decisions are final. No one shall dispute his decisions in any way, on or off the field during the Tournament. There will be only one Referee during each match. In short, 31st Bangkok Far East Football Tournament will have a “no-age-limit”, “11-a-side”, “11-a-half”, “full-field”, “no-offside”, “rolling-subs”, and “yellow-card-sitout-the-half” format Tournament and a “over 35-age-limit”, “7-a-side”, “7-a-half”, “half-field”, “no-offside”, “rolling-subs”, and “yellow-card-sit-out-the-half” format Tournament. This Tournament will be played on a natural-grass pitch according to FIFA rules. This year, all matches shall be played at Bangkok Patana School, Sukhumvit Soi 105, Bangkok, Thailand during the Easter weekend of 30th & 31st of April 2013. The participating teams shall be divided into “X” groups of “X” teams for the round-robin Group Phase matches. The Groups Draw shall take place during the Captain’s Meeting on 29th March 2013, the Good Friday night before the Tournament, at Old German Bierhaus (Sukhumvit Soi 11) Players shall be allowed to play for more than one (1) team in the entire Tournament, if and only if the Captains of the two (2) relevant teams and the Player who is switching teams agree to it. According to FIFA rules, shin-guards are mandatory equipment. In the Group Phase, each team shall be awarded with three (3) points for a win, one (1) point for a draw, and zero (0) point for a loss. In addition, one (1) - and, only one (1) - extra bonus point shall be rewarded to the winning team that can score three (3) or more goals in one (1) match. This means a maximum of four (4) points per match for any winning team. All matches shall be played according to the Tournament Schedule as announced by the organizers during the captain’s meeting. Any team arriving more than five (5) minutes late after the scheduled kick-off time of their match shall be considered forfeiting the match with a score of 2-0 walk-over. The punctual team shall be awarded with two (2) goals and three (3) points. If both teams are late (usually Sunday early morning matches!), they shall both be penalized with a 2-0 loss. Match playing time will be announced by the organizers at the captain’s meeting. There shall be a short break between each half. However, for an added touch of suspense, the Final Matches in all competitions shall be played as a thirty (30) minute match of two (2) halves of fifteen (15) minutes with a five (5) minute half-time break. A team must have minimum seven (7) Players at the start of each of their matches; otherwise, the team shall be considered forfeiting the match with a score of 2-0 walk-over. The opponent team shall be awarded with two (2) goals and three (3) points accordingly. Unlimited rolling substitutions (“rolling-subs”) are allowed, and Players who are substituted are permitted to return to play at a later time within the same match or later matches. Substitutions shall be made as the two (2) playing teams see it fit without stopping the match. Since it is rolling-subs, the on-coming substitute shall exchange places with the out-going player at the same spot on the same sideline. In the interest of fairness and controlling rough tackles & late hits, any Player receiving a yellow card during either half of a match will be sent off, without being substituted, until the end of that half during that match (“yellow-card-sit-out-the-half”), leaving his team one (1) player less for the remaining minutes of that half. The yellow-carded Player shall be permitted to return to the same match in the 2nd half or play in his team’s next match. A Player with two (2) yellow-cards collected in one (1) match shall automatically be sent off, and is suspended for the next match. A direct red card shall also lead to an immediate send-off from the match as well as an automatic penalty of one (1) match suspension, with the possibility of further disciplinary action by the Organizing Committee. After all the round-robin matches in the Group Phase are completed the Organizing committee will announce the knock-out Elimination Phase games and schedule. The following four (4) criteria shall apply so as to decide the group rankings: [1] Goal difference, [2] Goals scored, [3] The score of the match between the deadlocked teams, [4] Sudden-death-penalty-shoot-out. The winning teams in all competitions shall continue on playing through their Quarter Finals, the Semi Finals and the Final. In case the teams draw at the end of the regulation time for the matches there shall be a penalty shoot-out immediately, without playing any extra time, following the match to decide the winner of the match. The following rules shall be observed for all the penalty shoot-outs in this Tournament: Before the shoot-out, each team shall select their initial three (3) penalty taking Players from within the entire roster of their squad, and register their names & numbers with the Referee. In case it is still a draw after the initial three (3) of each team, the winner shall be decided based on the sudden-death penalty shoot-out rule. In case it is still a draw after all the Players in either of the team’s roster have taken penalties, then the turn rotates and re-starts from the first (1st) Player in the initial three (3) penalty takers based on the sequence of Players and their shirt numbers as recorded by the Referee. The goalkeepers of the teams during the penalty shoot-outs can be chosen from any Player within the entire roster of their squad; however, (barring a serious injury situation) teams shall not change goalkeepers during the middle of a particular penalty shoot-out. The winner of the Final Matches (whether in regulation time or after a possible penalty shoot-out) in all of the competitions shall be declared as the champions of their respective competitions; whilst, of course, the winner of the Cup Competition being the Tournament Champion. Any event not covered above shall be discussed and decided by the Organizing Committee of German All Stars-Bangkok during the 2-day Tournament in consultation with the Referees Committee. Inevitably, but authoritatively, their decisions are final..! As always, best of luck to all the teams!
