Client Overview The client company is one of the largest manufacturers of award-winning range of products to control the access of people and vehicles. The products are used for residential, commercial and industrial properties, and currently exported to 70+ countries worldwide. They have a very strong manufacturing capability with an almost fully-automatic facility installed for the population of its multitude of electronic controllers. The company invests considerably in its Research & Development programs with a team of fullyqualified engineers, using the latest computer aided tools to constantly research new and innovative products to add to the range and upgrade existing models.
Headquartered in South Africa, the company has 10+ offices worldwide. With a track record of reliability spanning 30+ years, they have earned the reputation of producing reliable and innovative products for the gate and access automation industry. Business Challenge The client wanted to perform application testing for IoT-enabled automation for the residential, commercial-grade and industrial grade access control systems for better experience and minimize security loophole. The access control which provides the initial classification of who gets into the facility and who doesn’t, along with a second level of security, controlling who has access what areas of the establishment down to each file cabinet or drawer containing sensitive information. Solution Highlights We engaged with the client to transform their end-user experience by providing a software solution to automate and control the gate operations. We developed and maintained access automation and access control system for various types of residential, commercial and industrial gates. The solution includes responsive website and sync service, covering following key functionalities. 2

The solution allows to set up and monitor GSM-based switch modules through the systems web application and add new device wizard; real-time connectivity to GSM device using SignalR and IoT GSM Device Management for input, output and trigger configuration The GSM Service is a Windows Service which synchronizes the data between the central database and the devices, over a secure channel Performed testing for difference layers of the application such as application layer, services layer, gateway and network layer and sensor layer Conducted automated testing for the application using Gateway Testing Automation Framework (GTAF) Conducted functional testing, compatibility testing, usability and user experience testing, localization testing, API testing, network compatibility testing, network connectivity testing, security testing, compliance testing, data privacy and analytics validation
