This project is a master bedroom with elements of minimalist and contemporary interior styles. The client wanted a rustic feel to the space with simple but very interesting furniture elements. I tried to achieve this brief with the use of texture and materials that have a natural/ raw finish look, like concrete effect/ cement effect, marble stone, wood, etc. The general idea of the home was a bachelor pad and so the bedroom reflects a lot of darker tones and some neutral tones as well. The use of the lighting pieces (The Mona pendant light and the Noctamble Lamp) were inspired so that glass as a material can be used to create a different type of atmosphere and experience within the same space. In the daytime, the lights are almost invisible (making the room look even more spacious), but at night, the lighting threaded in between the tubes completely lights up the space. This feature helped create a visual experience within the bedroom. The design was able to completely visualise the client’s thoughts and much more. 1. HAVEN

Transcorp hotels are one of Nigeria’s leading hospitality brands with different branches across the countries. The brief of this project was to completely renovate their head office in Abuja, to take out all the existing partitions, creating an open plan, modern office befitting a hospitality brand.

A lot of inspiration came from infusing natural elements into the space, like greenery and the use of wood in creating a very welcoming environment for the users as well as visitors. Branding was also an integral aspect of the design, as it is a corporate office and as such, it needed to be emphasized within the office space. Materials and textures have also been used to enhance the quality of the space, creating depth, functionality and a visually pleasing environment.

3. PROJECT M

RESIDENTIAL DESIGN

Project M was a residential project focusing on four major spaces within the home; living room, kitchen, kids playroom and kids bedroom. The client was very particular about how these spaces would look and based on the brief given by them, I went for a modern contemporary interior style. I used textures and materials to characterize the space, I also introduced shapes, lines and curves to create a natural and open environment. The colour scheme included very light and neutral colours since it was a family home and it was important that it felt delightful and welcoming. The general look and feel of the kid’s bedroom and playroom were highly influenced by the kids. It proved challenging at first because they both had different tastes. However, after I presented them with different options, we were able to get to a satisfying middle ground where everyone was happy.

The brief was to design a modern and functional kitchen space and the client requested a colour pop, and so we chose olive green. It’s a very rich colour, not too dark and not too bright as it is a kitchen space where a very neutral colour is ideal. The floor is honed greige tiles that provide durability and are slip-resistant which is crucial for a kitchen. Wood is used in the production of the hanging shelf as well as the cabinetry which has been painted green. The barstools are made with brown leather fabric and metal legs and they compliment the green cabinetry quite well. The granite backsplash helps reduce the intensity of the olive green and balances everything out.

The company was interested in renovating an acquired event hall into an office space. The project was very challenging because the staff would be moving from their old office to the new one, and so even though the proposed office was significantly smaller, most of their previous furniture pieces and designated office spaces had to be maintained. Another challenge included the CEO requesting a gaming room next to his office even though the room was already quite constricting. Despite all these challenges presented, I was able to plan the space in a way that accommodated all the client’s requests and maintained functionality in the design as well.

Inspiration Board The project was designed for a Law firm looking to switch from the traditional look and feel to a space that fostered better collaborations This office design portrays minimalist and modern elements that reflect tranquil and luxury. In this design, the use of natural and earth colors, wooden grains and textured features compliment the rush in of natural light that keep the space vibrant to create an environment for increased productivity. I designed the layout and mood board for the office space and collaborated with a cross functional team for the execution. The team included; engineers, project managers, site managers, procurement officers, quality control officers and trained artisans 6. The design conveys a modern interior style, with both spaces having their unique features but still creating a very cohesive atmosphere for the homeTheowners.house belongs to a young couple and their toddler. Based on their brief and style description, they wanted a home with (primarily) modern elements. For this design, I introduced a lot of curves and soft elements because they wanted a child-friendly home. The colour palette featured a lot of neutral tones, and raw materials like wood and marble were also introduced into the space. The couple entertains a lot so, they also asked for extra seating which can be seen with their multi-use coffee table and storage credenzasFinally, they liked the idea of using a mixture of wallpaper and paint and I included all their requirements and more in the design of the mood board.

The objective of the “Women’s House” is to host meetings, seminars, labs, and any other activity that could be useful in reducing forms of discrimination, strengthening and promoting gender equality, creating awareness and knowledge, and stimulating involvement by all parts of society. The project will be selfconstructed with the benefiting community and will therefore need to meet certain construction criteria, such as: - be easily built with sustainable technologies that can be adapted for self-construction and which do not require the use of heavy vehicles or complex machinery; - make use of natural and/or recycled materials available in the area so as to limit the environmental and economic impact caused by transport of materials and to generate revenue within the local context; - be integrated with the socio-cultural context Of the area by reinterpreting and respecting its traditions
