Diane Williams left this life and entered eternal rest on January 3, 2025. She was born on August 31, 1950 in Norfolk, Virginia to Elouise P. Ruffin and Neal A. Williams.
Diane was the devoted mother to her only daughter, Veronica M. Williams, and cared deeply for her throughout her life. She grew up in Norfolk and received her formal education from Booker T. Washington High School. Diane spent over 30 years living in Columbus, Ohio, before moving back to Virginia in 2023 to be closer to her family.
She worked at Victoria’s Secret and as a Home Health Aide during her career journey. Lady Di, “Duweez”, or “Dine” as she was affectionately called, was a strong woman with a big personality and a great sense of humor. Her bold voice and funny jokes could light up a room, and she had a way of making people laugh. Diane loved her family deeply and enjoyed football just as much. Her love for the Pittsburgh Steelers was deeply shared with anyone who would indulge in football conversation.
She loved spending time with family, playing spades, and bragging about her famous fried chicken, which everyone looked forward to at gatherings. Diane was proud of her family members and always found joy in their achievements.
Diane was predeceased by her parents, Elouise and Neal; her brother, Ruben “Rusty” Williams; her daughter, Veronica M. Williams; and her niece, Ebony L. Breckenridge.
Left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren: Travonta Williams, Katovia Williams, Rontrell (Duke) Williams, Dakeem Williams, Quinshayla Williams, Quintese Jones, and Akira Williams; her siblings: Larry Dean Williams, Helen Roberson, and Tawana Breckenridge; her nieces and nephews: Tanya WilliamsCross (Antwan), Larry Deon Williams (Jodina), Kisha M. McDaniel (Cameron), Krystal M. Hayes (Ronald), Jaquan R. Breckenridge, Selina Crespo, and Wanda Jones-Sanderlin (Joseph); her special friend, Sharon Turn, great-grandchildren, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and extended family members who loved her dearly.
Diane will always be remembered for her strong will, humor, and the love she showed to those around her. Her family and friends will miss her deeply, but they will hold on to the memories of the fun times, laughter, and love they shared with her.
