the life of On December 8, 2024, Teresa Diane Price peacefully entered eternal rest, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and service that will continue to inspire all who knew her. Born on September 30, 1956, in Greenville, North Carolina, Teresa’s life was a testament to the beauty of a heart devoted to family, friends, and her Creator. As Teresa entered the gates of heaven, she was lovingly greeted by her mother, Fannie Price Charity, and her grandmother, Julia Floyd, who welcomed her home with open arms. It was a reunion filled with joy, where the bonds of family transcended time and space.

Obituary

Teresa’s journey of faith began early in life when she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She was baptized at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Greenville, North Carolina, and her relationship with God only grew stronger throughout her life. Later, she became a cherished and active member of Gethsemane Baptist Church in Newport News, Virginia. Her faith was evident in all she did, from serving with the Harvesters Ministry and the Vacation Bible School Culinary Team to volunteering at church events. Just this past summer, she poured her heart into working with children as part of the Greater Peninsula Cares All Around Achievers Summer Camp. Teresa’s earthly journey was one of dedication and excellence. A 1974 graduate of J.H. Rose High School, she went on to attend Pitt Community College. Her career began in the Medical Records Department at Pitt Memorial Hospital and later took her to DePaul Hospital and the Riverside Health Department. In 2021, she retired from Huntington Ingalls’ E13 Engineering Department, closing a career filled with diligence and purpose.

More than her professional achievements, Teresa’s greatest joy and legacy was her family. She was the rock on which they leaned—the unwavering presence who offered love, wisdom, and comfort. Her grandchildren moving closer to her from Alabama brought her immeasurable happiness, filling her heart with cherished memories. Known for her eye for interior design, Teresa brought beauty to every space she touched. Her love for cooking created family traditions, and her dishes—like her famous liver and onions, oyster dressing, and sweet potato cake—will forever remain part of her family’s story.

Teresa leaves a legacy of love and cherished memories to her son, Byron Price of Hampton, VA; her grandchildren, Tianee Henderson, Jahziah Price, and Jkoi Blyden; her great-grandchildren, Chosen and Harley; her siblings, Gwen Warren of Newport News, VA, Vickie Toulson of Stockbridge, GA, Robbie Price of Newport News, VA, Jeffrey Price of Atlanta, GA, and Darryn Price of Hampton, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who were touched by her kindness and grace.

Don’t Cry For Me Don’t cry for me. I will be okay. Heaven is my home now, and this is where I’ll stay. Don’t cry for me. I’m where I belong. I want you to be happy and try to stay strong. Don’t cry for me. It was just my time, but I will see you someday on the other side. Don’t cry for me. I am not alone. The angels are with me to welcome me home. Don’t cry for me, for I have no fear. All my pain is gone, and Jesus took my tears. Don’t cry for me. This is not the end. I’ll be waiting here for you.
