W E LCOME Dear Monsters, From the bottom of my heart, thank you for ten years of support, friendship and a lifetime of incredible memories! I’m amazed each day that we get to do this for a living. Our goal is to provide a positive, challenging and inspirational experience, along with opportunites to grow personally and professionally in the entertainment industry. There is a much bigger picture than the weekend of dance that we share and it is my hope that you take from it all that you hoped for and more. Our staff and faculty are here to provide you the tools necessary to take that next step, whatever that step is for YOU. Whether it’s becoming a professional dancer or choreographer, or simply becoming a more well-rounded dancer, we hope you walk away with more than a few 5-6-7-8’s. We feel that the experiences and messages our faculty shares are as important as the choreography they will teach you. Thank you for your continued support of Monsters. Welcome to the family! Peace, Andy Funk Founder

MONSTERS’ M ission To bring dancers together with the industry’s top dance professionals in a fun and challenging environment that fosters self-fulfillment and career development.
T he MONSTERS Sh ow P roject was created in 2005 as a platform to introduce up-and-coming dancers to industry professionals and hopefully launch their careers. Never did we imagine that it would develop into the springboard that it has become. Dancers from around the globe attend Monsters convention tour for the opportunity to audition for the industry’s top choreographers where four dancers in each city are nominated as show finalists. All finalists receive a VIP Tour Pass, enabling them to attend unlimited Monsters conventions free for one full year. At the tour’s end, Monsters faculty members review the audition footage and select the cast. For many, this selection validates years of hard work and investment in their craft. Through this project, we aim to develop professional, hard working and determined performers who will entertain for years to come.

SHADOWS
A J OURNE Y F RO M D A R K NESS INTO LI G HT Created by Napoleon & Tabitha Dumo In a way, the 2013 cast has already taken the next step on their journey that for some has encompassed nearly 10 years. They were discovered on the Monsters convention tour and ultimately chosen out of thousands of dancers to join a long line of impressive show alumni. But by no means is their journey complete. This is one small rung in their ladder of success. When you are shadowed, you are concealed, hidden, out of sight and invisible. Never fear being in the shadows; it simply means there is light nearby. Follow our cast on their journey from darkness into light. Will you be next?
