High-intensity Interval Training taught by Denise Mornini Interval endurance training for the athletic adult. Warm up, and then go into high-intensity bursts (run or power walk, interspersed with recovery periods using other muscle groups) followed by balance challenges, strength training and floor work.

BONE BUILDERS

TUES & THURS, JUL 5 – AUG 30 • 9 AM

Bone Builders is a free, volunteer-led exercise program for ages 55+ in partnership with the Montgomery County Departments of Recreation and Health and Human Services, and the RSVP volunteer program. Classes held twice a week are designed to increase bone density. Participants use ankle and hand weights, and participate in warm-up, cool-down and balance exercises. The class relies upon weight training and balance exercises to protect against fractures caused by osteoporosis by increasing muscular strength, balance and bone density. Bone Builders has a strict attendance policy: participants must consistently attend twice each week to maintain their place in class. Free.

BALLET FOR FITNESS

THURSDAYS, JULY 7 – JULY 28

This unique exercise class uses ballet moves for improving strength and conditioning. Ballet for Fitness is a total body workout that features movements that engage your mind and has you moving to music. Join instructor Becci Kim as she leads you through your workout. No previous ballet experience is required.

HATHA YOGA WITH JANE STELBOUM

TUESDAY, JULY 12 – AUGUST 30 • 12 PM (NO CLASSES: AUGUST 2 & 9)

Instructor Jane Stelboum is back with even more techniques to share. This class offers instruction on yoga poses, somatic breathing and movement, healthy/happy back therapy, and meditation. Learn proper and safe alignment. Modifications offered to suit your own body and ability. Dress comfortably. Bring your own mat or use one of ours. Yoga mats are recommended.
