2023
It is my pleasure to announce the retirement of Yoland Bastian! Yoland has worked for the City of Gaithersburg for 24 years at both the Activity Center at Bohrer Park and the Benjamin Gaither Center. While I will miss Yoland’s efficient and effective running of the office, it is her I will miss the most. Yoland has always mentored me and pointed out where I can improve and complimented me when I have done well. She has given me advice on parenting, finances, coworker relationships, member relationships, cooking and more. Yoland is a wonderful person and I admire the way she takes care of her family, her faith, her cooking, her generosity, her high expectations for herself and others, and her dedication to the BGC and the City of Gaithersburg. Yoland has set the bar high and her contributions to the team and the culture of the BGC will be long lasting. I hope Yoland enjoys traveling and spending time with her family and knows that she has a place in our hearts forever. Congratulations Yoland!!
I’ll BGC-ing you!
