Attendance Cost and Annual

Membership: is is not an April Fools’ joke! We put a lot of e ort into planning and talking with the sta at each restaurant, but here are some funny/not funny things that have happened to us recently: e manager went out of town and didn't alert sta that 30 of us were coming; sta training was scheduled and the restaurant was closed; the restaurant went out of business; the restaurant said it would love to host our group and then scheduled on waitress (happened twice!); and another restaurant decided to close on Tuesday night to save money! We couldn’t plan these surprises if we tried!

If a person wants to go on a trip or attend a program and is not a member, they may join the Center for a 30-day period (City residents: $10, nonresidents: $25). During the period they have all the privileges of a member, and if they decide to join for a year during the first 30 days, the cost of their 30-day trial will be applied toward an annual membership. Please note that cumulative one-month membership fees will not apply.

Hello Members! Did you know that the BGC has a code of conduct that you promise to follow when you become a member of the Center and every time you renew your membership? We hand this out to new members when they join the Center, but if you have been here for many years, like quite a few of our members, you might not have ever seen this or remember seeing this list of rules. Feel free to stop by the front desk to request your own copy of our Member’s Handbook, or email us at benjamingaithercenter@gaithersburgmd.gov and we will send you a copy. e handbook goes over trip rules, how the lunch program works, and much more.

Save the date! e Active Aging Expo is coming up on ursday, May 4. Spread the word and invite your friends to the best event of the year.

I’ll BGC-ing you!

Sympathy is extended to the friends and family of Ruth Sentelle who recently passed away.
