FACING IT WITH RCCS TO SAY THAT YOSEF’S DIAGNOSIS OF BRAIN CANCER SHOOK US IS A MILD STATEMENT.

WE WERE

DROWNING.

This is Yosef and our family’s story.

This is the RCCS story.

This is YOUR story.

My son Yosef was a smiling, jolly teen with a heart as soft as butter. Whatever he did, from learning to laughing, he did it all the way. He loved spending time with his friends and swaying to music. He loved life. One day, that life turned upside down.

But then, we turned to RCCS and we felt calmer. Their words were nothing short of soothing and reassuring. They truly understood our suffering and pain, and made a promise to be there for us at every step of the way. Their words were our life raft, giving us security in the stormy cancer sea.

But then, we called RCCS and they did the impossible. Like angels, they set up an appointment for the same week. I don’t know how they managed to get through to this unreachable expert, but I do know this: RCCS saved our sanity with that appointment. Weeks of desperation and anxiety were terminated in one big whoosh.

WE TRIED TO CONSULT WITH DR. FINE, THROUGH SO MANY AVENUES IN VAIN.

WE WERE

FRANTIC.

THE RESULTS CAME BACK AND THE PROGNOSIS SEEMED BLEAK.

WE FELT

STRANGLED.

But then, we threw our burden to RCCS and they came through – like they always do. They invested more time to research the field and made sure we felt confident with our oncologist, Dr. H. Fine and our neurosurgeon, Dr. C Sen. RCCS reassured and comforted us with clarity. We had new hope and courage to forge ahead.

But then, we know to go to RCCS and they straightened out the mess in our minds and hearts. They reached out to Dr. Henry Friedman at Duke University for a second opinion and asked him to oversee the treatment plan. The knowledge that we’re doing everything possible for Yosef propped us up.

RCCS gave us strength to face another round of treatment.

THINGS WEREN’T GETTING BETTER; THEY WERE GETTING WORSE.

WE WERE

TERRIFIED.

WE HAD TO FLY TO NORTH CAROLINA, BUT WE HAD NO TIME OR ENERGY.

WE WERE NUMB AND

DRAINED.

But then, we left it to RCCS and they erased the aggravation with one call. Dr. Friedman agreed to review the scans and discuss Yosef’s case with Dr. Fine without having us travel to his office in NC, only after speaking to RCCS. His consultation gave us a sense of peace and enabled us to continue.

INSURANCE COMPANY VERDICT: PAY $70K PRIVATELY OR COMPROMISE YOUR SON’S TREATMENT.

TRAPPED.

But then, we reached out to RCCS and they chumped right into the challenge. RCCS immediately involved the Abe Advocacy to appeal the denial. Stuck with a choice between $70K that I didn’t have, or inferior treatment for my son, I thought my head would split from the agony – until RCCS got the insurance company to cover that $70,000 bill from Procure Proton Therapy, and got me to breathe again.

But then, we asked RCCS and they were right there with solutions. They guided us to switch plans due to the policy changes, and helped us choose the right plan for Yosef based on his hospital and physicians. RCCS urged us to choose the plan that suits Yosef’s needs without considering the premium costs. They
