Helping you to understand the law which applies to fundraising, including contracts, solicitation statements, professional fundraisers and benevolent fundraising. Also, learn how you put this knowledge into practice in your everyday activity.

Organisations recognised by HMRC can reclaim an additional 25p in every £1 donated by individuals. We’ll look at registering for Charities Online, submitting applications under the Gift Aid Small Donations Scheme and maximising Gift Aid.

Local fundraising through collections, raffles and small events can be hard work, but effective to engage with and get support from the community around you. We’ll show you simple tools to make the planning easier, and make sure you maximise every opportunity. Local businesses can bring volunteers, gifts in kind, sponsorship or even cash into your project. We’ll take you through the steps to engage with businesses and think about ‘what’s in it for them?'.

Licences, permissions, risk assessment - the challenges of running fundraising events can seem massive, but we’ll help you to understand what you need to make your events successful.

Funding Applications

If lack of confidence means you're putting off funding applications then let us take you through what to include (and what not to include) and how to increase your chances of a positive response.

Individual Giving

Over 60% of income to the voluntary sector comes from individuals – so if you’re not asking them, or not asking properly, you are missing out! This session will look at recruiting donors; encouraging regular giving, and looking towards seeking major gifts and legacies.

2pm - 4pm Monday 3rd August 2015 Cost: £40

2pm - 4pm Monday 10th August 2015 Cost: £40

Building your Case for Support

2pm - 4pm Monday 17th August 2015 Cost: £40

Fundraising Volunteers

2pm - 4pm Monday 24th August 2015 Cost: £40

Fundraising in a Digital World

2pm - 4pm Monday 31st August 2015 Cost: £40

Making a clear and concise ‘case’ for support is the most important part of any fundraising ‘ask’! Why should a donor/funder give to you, rather than any other needy cause? Dogs, lifeboats, the PhilippinesD We’ll help you to understand what’s special about your cause, and how to present that. Recruiting volunteers to help with fundraising is always a challenge – made even more difficult by the training and knowledge they need! We’ll give you guidance on how to make the most of your volunteers, and engage with new ones.

The internet, smartphones, tablets, iWatch, PayPal – our world is increasingly digital. This session will look at what is happening, and how you can make it work for you in raising funds for your organisation.
