It’s time to put your money where your mouth is as the old saying goes...
come onto the scene. The company is made up of some of the staffers who got tossed out when the other magazines got killed in December. They heard you and made a decision to put a couple of magazines out there, because they know gearheads like a print magazine.
Back in December of 2019, a BIG number of print magazines got killed by their parent company. Believe the number was 19 plus or minus, by one media publisher. Along with the ending of the publications, many people who worked for those magazines lost their jobs at the same time.
On page 6 of this issue, we have the info you need to sign up for a subscription for one or both of the magazines. YES they will be in print with a digital offering too. LET ME REPEAT THAT...THEY WILL BE IN PRINT and shipped to your address. Here’s the catch...YOU HAVE TO SIGN UP FOR A SUBSCRITPTION!
There was a lot of discussion, complaining and chatter on social media outlets and even in conversations where two or more gearheads were present. Some of the conversations and discussions were about how people were going to be made whole for their remaining subscriptions to the magazine that just got killed. The other discussions were about, “how could they”, “why did they” and “how dare they” kill the publication(s) of a gearheads favorite magazine(s). Even more conversations and chatter about more magazines should be in print and not on the internet only.
Subscriptions and sales of the publication off the magazine shelf in your local store are a lifeblood for any print publication. Standing in the store aisle, reading the whole magazine and then putting it down is not right and will kill the magazine quickly. It’s like stealing too...sort of. No it’s not a $9.99 yearly subscription price. This is a start up. It will cost you a few bucks, but my guess is you waste more $$ than this very quickly on stupid stuff. We all have. I have. It’s your turn now...are you going to sign up for a subscription for a PRINT MAGAZINE for gearheads...I DID and you should too

2020 Chevrolet Corvette gets 'Lambo Doors' The mid-engine 2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray aims to deliver an exotic car experience on a budget, but it’s missing one key element: doors. Oh, the $59,995 coupe has two, but they’re just regular old doors that swing out like the ones on most cars, not the cool “scissors-style” doors originally made famous by Lamborghini. Well, owners will soon be able to remedy that oversight thanks to Eikon Motorsports, a company that specializes in ‘Lambo Doors’ conversions on a wide variety of vehicles ranging from the Dodge Challenger and Cadillac Escalade to the ... the Lamborghini Huracan, which doesn’t have them either The Scottsdale, Ariz., outfit is offering a kit for the C8 that attaches to the same bolts as the factory doors and is reversible, in case you tire of making a grand entrance whenever you get out of the car. Pre-orders are currently available for $2,999, or $4,300 installed with lifetime warranty. You may end up getting the kit before your car, however, as the start of Corvette production was delayed several weeks due to last fall’s UAW strike and has since been suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic. Only 2,700 2020 model year Corvettes have been produced so far, according to Motor Authority, and the automaker may not be able to satisfy its current order list before the end of the calendar year.

Right about now, a lot of you gearheads are thinking...what the heck are airplanes doing in the GEARHEAD GAZZETTE Magazine? They belong here too, as to us they are truly the hot rods of the sky! The 2019 STIHL National Championship Air Races are in the books (run every Sept.) after yet another exciting week of heart-pumping battles around the pylons. The U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds were back or the first time in nearly a decade, bringing their spectacular formation flying and daring solo routines to Reno, under mostly perfect flying conditions. Over 50 years ago, the first plane went up in the Nevada desert to kick off what would become the STIHL National Championship Air Races and a legacy was born. A legacy of history, heritage and preservation. Of daring, imagination and wonder. Of memories made, traditions formed and legends created one amazing
race at a time. Engines roaring. Crowds cheering. Hearts pounding. This is the fastest motorsport on Earth – a one-of-akind thrill you have to see, hear and feel to believe. This is classic, cool and contemporary all rolled into one. This is life at 500 miles per hour. This is the STIHL National Championship Air Races in a few words. 24
Aviation fans know that one of the best things about the STIHL National Championship Air Races is seeing some of the most beautiful planes in the world all in one place. Whether they are racing, or parked in the pits, these flying works of art are something you don’t want to miss. The Reno Air Racing Association’s mission is to perpetuate the most unique air racing event and aviation experience in the world by combining the world’s fastest motor sport with spectacular military and civilian air entertainment. We would have to say...MISSION COMPLETE. The air races will once again be held in September of 2020, barring any issues from the COVID-19 outbreak. Airplane Nose Art… Pilots and air crews wanted to dress up their air craft, personalize it if you will. A lot of times, the art was a remembrance of something or someone special back home It also helped other plane crews identify each other. As the United States entered World War II, nose art regulations were relaxed, or in many cases totally ignored. WWII would become the golden age of aircraft artistry. Artwork was typically painted on the nose of the plane, and the term "nose art" was coined. Like many others, we think that the “NOSE ART” is so cool. Here are some great examples that were on display at RENO 2019.
