It’s never too early to start planning for 2021 gearhead events... YES... 2020 has been a challenge to say the least for all of us. Still a few months left to get through, but we have made it this far and we will all get to the end of this year. I for one don’t like to wish away my life, but 2020 has got to go!

Having said all that, it’s time to start planning your events for 2021. The gearheads across the USA are ready to have some big time hot rod fun after being choked off in 2020. As they say….”plan it and they will come!” After you plan your event, send us the info so we can get it listed for you. Our show and cruise listings are always free. Send us a flyer for your event too. We use those to help get the word on your event out. Make sure your event info includes location including city and state, times, any costs, etc. The more info you send the better the listing and the better the participation. There are BETTER DAYS AHEAD for all of us. We just need to be patient, as hard as that is. Remember...good things come to he who waits...get ready to have fun!

Reality tells me that all of us will still be dealing with the COVID19 situation in some form even as 2021 starts. I do believe it will get better as time progresses. Based on what we know now and depending on your city and state, gearhead shows and events can take place. We see it today with a lot of events working within the local COVID19 guidelines

Vehicle Builders Invited to Participate in SEMA360 Builder Showcase Applications for the SEMA360 Builder Showcase are now open at www.sema360.com. In the absence of the in-person SEMA Show, the new SEMA360 was created as a 100 percent online trade-only event that focuses on an ecommerce marketplace, new products, vehicle builds and education for the automotive specialty equipment industry, SEMA says. Unlike the SEMA Show, where vehicle space is limited and vehicle applications must be submitted by a participating manufacturer, the SEMA360 Builder Showcase allows vehicle builders the opportunity to enter vehicles directly into the program. “We’re excited to open up the SEMA360 Builder Showcase to all the talented builders across our industry,” said Tom Gattuso, SEMA vice president of events. “We wanted to put a spotlight on the trends and innovation that go into these vehicle builds every year while highlighting the people who bring the creations to life.”

“This is truly a worldwide platform to show off the passion and creativity SEMA Week has become known for,” continued Gattuso. “The support we have had for SEMA360 has been tremendous, and we can’t wait to see what this new Showcase feature will bring.” Applications to participate in the SEMA360 Builder Showcase must be submitted online by Oct. 9, 2020. Builders must submit a complete application that includes vehicle information, up to 10 photos, and an optional 90-second builder highlight video. Builders may also apply through a SEMA360 participating manufacturer. All entries in the SEMA360 Builder Showcase may also participate in SEMA Battle of the Builders. Now in its seventh year, SEMA Battle of the Builders is the foremost competition that recognizes and celebrates the accomplishments of SEMA vehicle builders. Select vehicles from the competition will be featured in the television special and in SEMA publications and websites, and plans are for the top vehicles and builders to be flown to Los Angeles for filming. NASCAR Cup Series Holding Dirt Race at Bristol Bristol Motor Speedway recently that the NASCAR Cup Series 2021 spring race at the .533mile short track will be contested on dirt. It will be the first premier series event on a dirt track in more than 50 years. The event will mark the first time the NASCAR Cup Series will compete on dirt in the sport’s modern era. The last time the Cup Series held a race on dirt was at the State Fairgrounds in Raleigh, North Carolina in 1970, won by Richard Petty. It will be the third time that BMS will transform into a dirt facility, as the track converted to dirt to host the World of Outlaws in 2000 and 2001. “As everyone knows, Bristol Motor Speedway is the home to big events and we feel like this will be one of the most anticipated races in the NASCAR Cup Series in quite some time,” said Jerry Caldwell, executive vice president and general manager of Bristol Motor Speedway. “We have proven in the past that we know how to transform Bristol Motor Speedway into one of the most pristine dirt facilities anywhere around, so we can’t wait to see how the stars of the NASCAR Cup Series will perform on the high banks at the World’s Fastest dirt Half-Mile.”

The first day, Saturday, Oct. 10, 2020, will be exclusively a swap meet and car corral. Sunday October 11, 2020 will be the classic car show including a continuation of the swap meet and car corral. All cars will receive a dash plaque while quantities last! We will have a live DJ, Blues Band, kids corner, giveaways throughout the day, food & drink vendors. (Dickeys BBQ will be there with their delicious food as well as a local distillery) The Everett Theatre will host an outside “sit in/drive in” style movie: Smokey & The Bandit.
