“seen many a gearhead getting up early to sit in line” It’s time for all of us in America to go exercise our right to vote... This one is personal to me for reasons you will see in this column this week. I am not taking any candidate or party’s side, I will do that when I vote...and I WILL VOTE.

If you DONT GO VOTE, in my opinion you are DISRESPECTING all those veterans who have given their lives for this right we have. I write this because I have already heard a number of people saying they are not going to vote because they don’t want to wait in line or that my vote doesn't matter...BULLS*#! I have seen many a gearhead getting up early to sit in line to WAIT to get into a car show. If you can do that, you can get your butt out of the house to go wait however long it takes to place your vote once every 4 years. It’s easy to make a political post on a social media site while you are in the recliner. Make your political statement at the voting booth where it really matters Now...GET UP OFF YOUR BUTT AND GO VOTE!!

Whoever you choose to VOTE for, its a RIGHT that was earned for each of us....not just given. Millions of men and women who have served in the Armed Forces ( myself included) from the birth of our nation through today, and especially those who gave their lives, EARNED this right for you. Todays military members continue to protect our country and our right to vote in every election. In my opinion, there are not many good reasons to not go vote. There are options in each state to allow everyone to vote. USE them...GO VOTE!

Goodguys Rod & Custom Association Announces 2021 Event Schedule GOODGUYS Rod & Custom Association has revealed its 2021 event schedule featuring 19 events in 13 markets across the United States, including the addition of a second fall event in Del Mar, California.

The all-new Goodguys 1st So-Cal Nationals will take place at the Del Mar Fairgrounds Oct. 1-3 and will embrace and celebrate southern California’s longtime and unprecedented passion for classic automotive culture with several new features including a dedicated indoor VW showcase, a classic off-road 4×4 vehicle exhibit, a vintage trailer exhibit, So-Cal themed automotive art gallery and more, the company said. For 2021, Nashville has a new date and title sponsor – The 15th BASF Nashville Nationals moves from its former mid-June date to Memorial Day weekend, May 2830 at Nissan Stadium in downtown Nashville, Tennessee. This new date will feature the annual Goodguys 2021 TANKS Inc “Hot Rod of the Year” competition. The remaining seventeen 2021 events are scheduled for their traditional annual weekends. Additionally, all sixteen “national” events will incorporate All-American Sunday, welcoming all American made and powered vehicles of all years to the show to cap off each weekend’s festivities. Highlighting the 2021 schedule will be Goodguys’ “Mid-Summer Classic” – the 30th Speedway Motors Heartland Nationals presented by BASF scheduled for Independence Day weekend, July 2-4 in Des Moines, Iowa and the “Big One” – the Goodguys 23rd Summit Racing Nationals presented by PPG (formerly the PPG Nationals) taking place the following weekend, July 9-11 at the Ohio Expo Center in Columbus, Ohio. The Goodguys AutoCross timed racing series will take place at seventeen events with each race featuring class shootouts on the Saturday afternoon of each event. The Goodguys AutoCross season will wrap up at the Goodguys 24th Speedway Motors Southwest Nationals in Scottsdale, Arizona with the “Duel in the Desert,” featuring the season’s fastest thirty-two cars in a shootout to determine the Goodguys 2021 Auto Crosser of the Year. NHRA Announces Non-Traditional 2021 Camping World Series Schedule NHRA officials have revealed the 22-race 2021 NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series schedule, which will begin — rather non-traditionally — at Gainesville, Florida in mid-March. The longtime season opener at Pomona, California, as well as the second stop in Phoenix, Arizona, will be contested later in the spring. Top speed is 50 mph on the Trace so we'll be taking it nice and slow allowing us to see parts of this beautiful country. We'll be eating at one of Elvis' old stomping ground restaurants, Johnnie's Drive-In, on Friday night. We received this from our friend Mike Gillespie from Franklin TN. We are going to follow along and see how this goes, as this is a great project for all gearheads in the region for sure. I wanted to take this opportunity to get an update out to you specific to the Nashville Motorsports Enclave development that has been a very hot topic in the region over the past few months. For those of you that have not received information on this development, the following is a nickel tour through the pertinent details that you should know as the development gets close to a vote by county officials in the next few weeks. At a minimum, this is one of the most exciting developments for us car lovers to ever present itself in this area. Here's why. Overview:

Nashville Motorsports Enclave (NME) is a 263 acre automotive enthusiast ecosystem and motorsports campus focused on a love for classic / custom / hi-performance cars, their preservation and their use. It includes multiple industry aligned commercial businesses that all serve this enthusiast demographic including classic and exotic car restoration, custom car building, fabrication / paint / body, engine building, and exotic / super-car service & maintenance.

This unique campus also offers: a state of the art 2.8 mile road course, 138 luxury garages, a competition karting track, multiple restaurants & patio lounges, a nostalgic fueling station, a performance stage, a business conference center, a chapel / event space, and a â&#x20AC;&#x153;country clubâ&#x20AC;? manicured campus worthy to host a number of car shows and concourse events throughout the year once fully developed.

The developer is also working with local education institutions and trade schools such as Motlow State Community College and Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT) to provide their students with hands on experience on the NME campus with experts in all facets of car restoration, maintenance and service. These same entities are also open to working collaboratively with NME to develop customized curriculum and internship programs specific to classic and super car restoration and service programs that can be offered to students at these and other vocational locations. That way students enrolled in these automotive trade courses can get real world opportunities and experience while going through the education system here in Rutherford County. overall architectural character through high quality exterior building aesthetics that together will provide an extraordinary site experience indicative of a trip to the old English countryside This includes access to the Renaissance Castle which shares the largest property line border of the proposed NME property. All in all, this is an experiential campus that is being compared to a country club (or DisneyLand!) for car enthusiast. It's being developed right here in Middle Tennessee as a family friendly campus open to the general public but with private and exclusive amenities that cater to even the most affluent car lovers / owners in the country. With your help, we can aid the developer in getting this piece of property through the rezoning process and construction underway as early as January of 2021. The development will be managed via a series of overlapping construction phases all of which are expected to be completed by 2024 with the preliminary road course and amenities opening in the summer of 2022.
