“Time for a change!” They say change is good, so it’s time for a change here too… Over the past few months, I have been mulling over how and what the GEARHEAD GAZZETTE will look like as we enter our 21st year. WOW Where did that time go! Part of this thinking has to do with my recent retirement from General Motors and how I want to enjoy retirement from the daily grind to pay the bills. I am a rookie in this retirement thing, a whole 7 weeks into it now, and ENJOYING IT a whole lot!! Even though I am retired from GM, publishing a weekly online magazine takes some serious hours to get ready. Over the years I have spent many an evening and night pulling everything together and putting it in a readable usable format. The other part of all this is maintaining the website (ww.gearheadgazzette.com) with the latest show & cruise info, and other features we have. All of this takes time, call it a labor of gearhead love. The other part of putting all this together is when I head out of town to a multi-day event (you remember those right?), I have to break away

from the event to get things ready to publish, cutting my “FUN TIME” short and more importantly cutting my time with my gearhead friends short...and not happy about that. Bottom line, publishing the GEARHEAD GAZZETTE weekly has kept me busy. Fun doing it, but busy. Time for a change! YES we will keep publishing and producing the GEARHEAD GAZZETTE on-line magazine. YES we will keep the website updated with the latest event, cruise info and other fun we have there for you to use. YES the GEARHEAD GAZZETTE will be FREE TO READ, SUBCSCRIBE and use the website info too! What is going to change is that the GEARHEAD GAZZETTE will be published every 2 weeks (bi-weekly) instead of weekly. I believe we will have a better publication for all of you and I will have time to have more gearhead fun too! I will get into the details in upcoming issues, but I am excited about this change! 2020 Harley-Davidson GMC Sierra Gets Goliath Supercharger, Hits 700 HP Americans love pickup trucks, and they do love motorcycles. The two types of vehicles couldn’t be more different, but that doesn’t mean car and bike makers can’t shake hands for special crossover series from time to time. For a while now (ever since the turn of the millennium, to be more precise), we’ve been treated with specially-branded trucks. It was Ford who started all this with the Harley-Davidson Edition of the F-150. The line continues to this day – as in it is still available for order and has been enhanced with the addition of the F250, and more recently a non-Blue Oval pickup, the GMC Sierra 1500. The Sierra joined the party at the beginning of this year, and it comes with special appointments (over 65 of them) such as the 22-inch milled aluminum wheels, solid billet aluminum exhaust tips, bar and shield badging, stainless-steel gauges, billet pedals, diamond stitching, as well as perforated leather upholstery. Under the hood of this Harley-inspired pickup sits the 6.2-liter V8 good in factory specification for 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. The size of the troop did not sit well with a group that specializes in making everything supercharged, Hennessey Performance, so they gifted it with the Goliath 700 upgrade. What that means is we now have 700 hp coming from the said engine and its 2.9-liter supercharger add-on, allowing for an acceleration time to 60 mph of 4.3 seconds.
