“our hobby and passion is fueled by people.” It’s not about the cars and trucks….it’s about us…. What a difference 14months makes! Back in March 2020, when the CORONA VIRUS Pandemic was kicking in at a very rapid rate across the USA, hot rod shows and gearhead events across the country were being cancelled faster than a bad TV show with poor ratings. Cruise-In’s and swap meets fell by the wayside too. All were victim of precautions being taken for safety of all involved. You could argue pro or con whether it was the right thing to do but I am not going to do that here. Fact is it happened and our fun with cars was curtailed. The bigger thing for me that happen for those 14 months (Mar 2020—Apr 2021) was the fact that we hot rodders..gearheads couldn't SEE each other. Sure there was email...Facebook and other social media outlets that we were able to communicate to each other with, but that still does not beat good old live and in person seeing each other. Even if you did the ZOOM deal to meet with a bunch of folks it still wasn’t the same….not for me anyway.

2021 did start out slow for events and cruises and other gearhead type events. From my view mid-April saw a turn for the better as conditions relaxed in many area’s. Like the picture here (Goodguys Nashville Nationals 2021) shows we are back!! Why is this so important you may ask? Fact is our hobby and passion is fueled by people. The cars and trucks we build, drive and love to look at are only metal, rubber, paint chrome etc. The cars and trucks are important because they draw us in to each other, but it is ALL OF US that makes all this happen...not a vehicle. Just getting out and talking to old friends, making new friends and just chatting about a particular vehicle with someone for maybe 30 seconds JUST FEELS GOOD to do. As the saying goes, you don’t know what you missed until it’s gone. Glad to see you my friends..I missed ya’…….

AMSOIL to Present Pfaff Designs St. Ignace Cup The St. Ignace Visitors Bureau today announced the return of its award recognizing automobiles showcased at the 45th annual St. Ignace Car Show Weekend, June 25-27, the organization announced.

The Pfaff Designs St. Ignace Cup will be presented by AMSOIL during the Sunday Winners Circle Awards ceremony. This is the second year that hot rod designer and builder Murray Pfaff of Pfaff Designs will be supporting the St. Ignace Car Show event team. “I want to help ensure that the St. Ignace Cup becomes a treasured award for automotive enthusiasts across the country for years to come,” stated Pfaff. “St. Ignace is the big show with small-town charm. Showcasing beautiful vehicles right along the shore of Lake Huron is a winning formula for exhibitors and spectators alike”. “AMSOIL enjoys supporting talented builders and automotive enthusiasts everywhere,” said AMSOIL Events & Trade Shows manager, Patricia Stoll. Carlisle GM Nationals Set for June This year, from June 25-26, the Carlisle, Pennsylvania Fairgrounds and Nationals Parts Depot Showfield will host a celebration of over 100 years of automotive history as the Carlisle GM Nationals return for 2021, event organizers announced. The showcase will include special displays, guests, featured vehicles and more. In addition, GM Nationals weekend includes a charity car show to benefit the Chip Miller Amyloidosis Foundation. For 2021, the must-see attractions include a nod to pop culture by way of Comic-Car Con, organizers said. This display will have selected cars that represent TV shows and movies spanning decades of entertainment. Further, guests can enjoy the 50th celebration of the Vega and H-Platform, a GM Swaps display, a GM Nationals Showcase display and the annual Solid Lifter Showroom. Among this year’s featured guests is TV host and builder Mike Finnegan. Finnegan is best known for his time on Roadkill and Finnegan’s Garage, each on MotorTrend TV. The Carlisle GM Nationals will also feature several competitions, including a rolling exhaust contest, real-street shootout and autocross each day. The shootout is Friday, while the exhaust contest is Saturday. There will also be seminars and installs with A&A Auto Stores, as well as the presentation of a few awards, like Carlisle Elite, largest club and coolest club. All New in 2021, Carlisle Events and the Carlisle GM Nationals will welcome the Chip Miller Amyloidosis Foundation, the York County Corvette Club and Corvettes for Chip. This event, historically held in the fall, transitions to the GM Nationals and will welcome over 200 Corvettes to the grounds. Corvettes for Chip is a fundraising event geared towards raising awareness for the CMAF and Amyloidosis, the disease that took the life of Carlisle Events co-founder Chip Miller in 2004. 8

Electric Vehicles Are Getting REAL! 7-Eleven to Install 500-Plus EV Fast Chargers

Get a BIG-GULP While Charging Your EV 7-ELEVEN is beginning an installation project with a goal of building at least 500 Direct Current Fast Charging (DCFC) ports at 250 select U.S. and Canada stores by the end of 2022, the company announced. Owned and operated by 7-Eleven, the new DCFC ports will increase charging options for EV drivers by adding to the company’s existing 22 charging stations located at 14 stores in four states. Once this expansion is complete, the company will have one of the largest and most compatible fast-charging systems of any retailer in the U.S., the company said. “7-Eleven has always been a leader in new ideas and technology to better serve the needs of our customers,” said 7-Eleven President and CEO Joe DePinto. “Adding 500 charging ports at 250 7-Eleven stores will make EV charging more convenient and help accelerate broader adoption of EVs and alternative fuels. We are committed to the communities we serve and to working toward a more sustainable future.” Additional details regarding 7Eleven’s ESG strategy will be announced later this year. 9
