Move to new HQ provides firstclass showroom and office facilities for J & C O’Meara
Established in 1990, J & C O’Meara is widely recognised as one of the country’s most progressive woodworking machinery businesses. Having outgrown their previous premises, they have moved – but they’re still based in Burscough, Lancashire! The new facility may only be a strong cricket ball throw away, but the difference in set up is quite remarkable and serves to underline the company’s confidence, ambition and drive.
J & C O’Meara’s impressive new 8000 sq ft facility comprises a self-penned office complex within a large, well-organised showroom replete with a large range of machines all powered up with appropriate extraction in a full demo-ready set up.
The options on show at the time of my visit showed an intent not previously obvious. In pride of place was a robust offer from top Turkish manufacturer, AES. A flank of three CNC machines comprising a Raptor Ultra, a smaller Flexa Pro as well as a Vega Ultra sat to one side of the spacious showroom. On the drilling side of things, the ever-popular Sirius 950M CNC drilling machine and GO CNC drilling and routing machine was on show alongside a Flexa Pro 2132 vertical CNC.
Elsewhere the Swiss sanding experts Kündig had a display of three machines the Kündig Master 1350 RE wide belt sander next to a Kündig Brilliant and a Kundig Uniq and Uniq S machines. Also on show were the three newly upgraded Genesis edgebanding machines featuring pre-milling and corner rounding.
The company also featured AES dust extraction units to go alongside all of the Turkish firm’s machines – these high performing yet affordable units range from single bag units to full industrial..

ready to demonstrate at J & C O’Meara was the AES Alpha beamsaw. This being one of 12 beam saw models now available in the UK. The model on show was an Alpha PS04 3.2m version. (See Products on p106/107).
Having moved in to its new premises in May, the company’s Genisis brand of sliding panel saws will also be fully on display soon.

Another important factor that J & C O’Meara’s new premises provides is a large mezzanine floor to enable a full range of in-stock spares – something that is vital in providing a professional service to its customers.
“Of course, being from a service-orientated background,” explains the company’s managing director Carl O’Meara, “we are fully aware of the importance of after sales service and will continue to carry a vast amount of spares for support. Our staff are always happy to assist with any technical advice along with our engineers for on site support if required.”
J & C O’Meara’s newly appointed national sales manager, Jeff Green (pictured right) explained that the new showroom provides an outstanding opportunity for clients to compare and contrast a range of equipment from a variety of manufacturers under one roof, all powered and ready to demonstrate. He said: “Our new facility is up and running and we are pleased to be able to demonstrate our CNC equipment, beam saws, edgebanding machines, ancillary extraction products and our drilling and sanding options – we will be delighted to host you, give us a call.” The company’s managing director Carl O’Meara said: “We are thrilled with our new facility, albeit a stone’s throw from our previous home. We believe this is a significant gear change for the company and we hope to see lots of our clients and colleagues from across the industry over the coming weeks and months. The investments we have made in our new facility will allow us to demonstrate the capabilities of the ranges we offer in a more professional manner. We also intend to rotate our stock regularly providing good reasons to drop by on a regular basis.”
