Concept/Inspiration
TypeFactory is a new museum all about typography based in New York City, the capital of culture. Its audience is anyone interested in type including students, seniors, graphic designers, tourists and children. The building design is modern with lots of glass to get the most natural light in as possible. Inspired by the clean, clear and easily readable logos and identities on this page, the branding design is minimal with one signature colour and one typeface used throughout. My area of focus is PRINT. As well as a permanent collection of all modern typography and designers, there is an exhibition on the top floor which changes every quarter. The museum also has a store and a cafe.

Edmondsans
Branding
The logo is sans serif so that it can by easily applied to a range of media and can be easily read by all ages which is beneficial to the target audience: tourists, graphic designers, children and anyone interested in typography. The blue signature colour and Edmondsans are used throughout the branding to keep it simple and easily applicable to a range of products. The blue colour was chosen because it is fresh and clean looking and goes well with the modern font.

Printed collateral
Stationery
Most of the printed collateral is printed on Antique White paper to give it a quality, slightly textured feel. The receipt is printed on normal office paper to emulate the cheap, thin paper typically used for receipts. The ruler and pencil have clear plastic stickers on them to give the best impression of how the logo would be printed onto them. The admission stickers are printed onto white sticker paper to make them opaque so they are easily seen when stuck onto customer’s clothes.

Web proposals
Website proposal: This shows mockups of what the homepage (top left) would look like coded. It features a slideshow of images showing current events and exhibitions to grab the audience’s attention. The tickets page (bottom left) has drop down menus where you can chose what type of ticket you want and the date to enable advanced booking. Mobile version: The mobile version of both pages shows what it would look like as a responsive design. It has a menu at the top which directs to the same navgation buttons as the full version.

Exterior signage/Poster
These mockups show the main sign at both entrances of Type Factory and an additional sign to attract attention from further away (far left). The poster advertises the Milton Glaser exhibition currently on show using the same imagery as the exhibition booklet to keep it consistent.

Above is a mockup of how one of the Milton Glaser exhibition rooms will look. The fact that one of the works is on the floor makes it a bit more interesting for the visitors and makes it unconventional. Top right is a tshirt that will be available to buy at Store Factory, continuing the pattern theme used in the stationery section. Above right is the unisex uniform that the staff at Type Factory will wear: minimal and smart.
