SUB-BUNG-OWF-T™ Topside Grouting Bungs SUB-BUNG-OWF-T™ Topside Grouting Bungs are utilised during the transition piece (TP) to monopile (MP) grouting operations. The annular gap between the two structures is bottom filled injected with a grouting mixture. To ensure the grouting mixture level fills to the top of the annular gap, air must be vented to prevent a grouting airlock. SUB-BUNG-OWF-T™ Topside Grouting Bungs comprise of a snorkel guided vertically into the hollow air-pocket. Once the bung is activated and sealing either 03-off or 04-off, 60 mm diameter holes, the grout mixture level shall fill to the top of the annular gap ensuring grouting joint integrity. SUB-DUCT™ Cable Protection Systems SUB-DUCT™ Cable Protection Systems are used in harsh subsea environments. Protection sleeves offers excellent abrasion and impact resistance as well as environmental protection to umbilicals in locations comprising rocky seabeds, pipeline and cable crossings. The cable protection system is a polyurethane split arrangement. Each section overlaps the next and is held in place by a field proven strapping system (various options are available). Within the overlapped section are interlocking profiles that provide axial stiffness holding each element together. This provides continuous protection over the full length of the assembly. In addition, each module incorporates a radial keyed arrangement, which increases the rigidity of the system against compression. The straps that are installed on the installation vessel require a tensioning tool that is supplied by Subsea Energy Solutions. Each strap can be fitted in under 5 seconds. The protection sleeves are manufactured from polyurethane to provide a robust wear resistant assembly. As standard, cable protection sleeves are supplied with a span length of approx. 1,000 mm to ensure that the sleeves are easily handled offshore, however bespoke lengths are produced to suit specific project requirements. For a comprehensive tooling asset list please request.

SUB-FLEX™ Cable Protection Systems Subsea Energy Solutions have patented a dynamic vertebrae bend restrictor known as SUB-FLEX™. SUB-FLEX™ is a split bend restrictor that functions like a continuous bend stiffener and can be retro-fit to any subsea cable or risers. KEY FEATURES We believe the SUB-FLEX™ product is the future of cable, umbilical and riser protection in free-span and dynamic environments and will significantly contribute towards the cost reduction of FPSO operation and maintenance. FPSO’s are a high cost / high insurance claim theatre and the quantity and number of claims are well documented by FPSO owners and operators relating to the repair and replacement of risers, umbilical and cables. Past projects have encountered issues due to the difference between theoretical analysis and practical performance, leading to fatigue, failure, production slowdown and ultimately shutdown. So there has never been a greater, more important time for the FPSO community to come together and lend support to a fully coordinated, fully standardised approach for FPSO subsea riser protection solutions. SUB-FLEX™ guarantee a reduction of FPSO insurance claims and a reduction of FPSO operation & maintenance costs.

SUB-HANG™ Topside Hang-Off Clamps SUB-HANG™ Topside Hang-Off Clamps provide a structural support between the riser or umbilical and the outer J-tube. Systems can also be supplied with a seal module that provides full sealing capability in the annulus between the riser and the J-tube. The SUB-HANG™ Topside HangOff Clamps are fitted with a continuous housing that is pre-installed prior to riser pull-in. Once the pull-in is complete Subsea Energy Solutions service engineers perform the final assembly of the unit. It is essential to perform a seal verification test prior to leaving the worksite.

SUB-LINK™ Buoyant Vertebrae Bend Restrictors SUB-LINK™ Buoyant Vertebrae Bend Restrictors comprises a number of interlocking elements which articulate when subject to an external load and lock together to form a smooth curved “locking” radius. This radius is chosen to be equal to or greater than the minimum bend radius of the pipe that it is applied to. Once the elements have locked together the bending moment present is transferred into the elements and back through a specially designed steel interface structure into the adjacent rigid connection, therefore protecting the pipe / cable from potentially damaging loads. Flexible pipes, flowlines, power cables and umbilicals are usually connected to a rigid structure such as a subsea riser base, PLEM or wellhead. To prevent these pipes from over bending at the interface between flexible and rigid structures, Vertebrae Bending Restrictors are often installed on the pipe. The VBR is specifically used where static or quasi-static loads act on a pipe, rather than dynamic loads when a bending stiffener would be more suited. We are able to offer either a bespoke design or make use of a vast array of existing designs of bending restrictor elements to suit a wide range of pipes, umbilicals and cables. We are also able to design and manufacture the steel interface structure required.
26
KEY FEATURES • A split design allows installation of the restrictor after pipe termination • Ease of installation onshore and offshore • Buoyant in water, eliminating self weight loading
SUB-PIGGY™ Piggy Back Clamps SUB-PIGGY™ Piggyback Clamps are often a requirement to host a smaller service line or cable simultaneous to a larger diameter pipeline. In order to ensure the secondary line is adequately supported and of the specified distance apart from the primary line, a series of clamps can be placed along the pipeline ensuring the desired arrangement. Our piggyback clamping systems comprise of either a moulded Polyurethane saddle held in place by circumferential straps, or a series of half shell clamps supported by internal strength members. KEY FEATURES • Modular construction • Ease of installation onshore and offshore • Neutrally buoyant in water, eliminating self weight loading on pipe Description

SUB-SRRJ™ Subsea Rigid Repair Joints SUB-SRRJ™ Subsea Rigid Repair Joints are highly engineered specifically for offshore applications where time is critical. The Subsea Energy Solutions medium voltage (MV) power cable joint utilises an intuitive and unique system to seal the cable and connector against sea water. As a result the joint housing is not resin filled saving considerable assembly time and cost. The system used to seal the cable is quick and permanent. The Subsea Energy Solutions MV subsea power cable joint design has resulted from the accumulation of proven technology gained from many years experience designing and building subsea power cable joints. Working both in the field and in the design environment has provided essential knowledge necessary to produce a design which is cost effective, highly reliable and resilient. Subsea Energy Solutions specialises in the design, enhancement and provision of cable joints and connectors. As an independent company, free from any cable or plant manufacturer, Subsea Energy Solutions prime focus is on providing technology 100% fit for purpose and serviceable throughout the system life.
30
KEY FEATURES • Proven technology • Provided by independent company with enviable track record • Technology can be used to join differing cable joints “universal” • Cost effective • Reduced time to assemble • Eliminates the need to resin fill • Potential to assemble one end prior to main operation saving further operational time • Available for 7.2kV, 12kV and 36kV operating voltage
