VENUE GENERAL INFORMATION WE’RE LOOKING FORWARD TO STAGING OUR VERY FIRST CONCERT AT BLOOMFIELD ROAD AND WELCOMING ROD STEWART’S OUTDOOR STADIUM TOUR ON FRIDAY 20TH JUNE 2014. DOORS OPEN AT 5PM. YOU MAY NOT BE FAMILIAR WITH THE VENUE SO HERE ARE A FEW DO’S & DON’TS TO HELP YOU ENJOY THE DAY. MAKE SURE THAT YOU PLAN YOUR JOURNEY AND IF YOU REQUIRE A PARKING SPACE, MAKE SURE YOU KNOW WHERE THE NEAREST CAR PARKS ARE.


DO’S • Do make sure you’ve planned your journey or have arranged accommodation. • Do allow plenty of time for your journey. • Do try & be at the venue when doors open at 5pm to avoid being caught in the evening rush hour. • Do keep your personal belongings & tickets safe at all times. • Do bring some sensible clothing & sun protection. • Do use the bins & toilets that will be provided. • Do use official vendors for merchandising only. • Do follow instruction from stewards at all times. DON’TS • Don’t park in the nearby streets as you will get a parking ticket. • Don’t bring any food or drink into the stadium as it will be confiscated. • Don’t bring umbrellas as they will be confiscated. • Don’t bring any kind of audio or visual recording equipment. • Don’t bring flags or banners they restrict views & will be confiscated. • Don’t smoke inside or outside the stadium. There is no re-admittance if you leave the stadium. • Don’t bring your own seating. GETTING HERE The doors will open at 5:00pm. Arrive early to enjoy the atmosphere & miss the inevitable stress of travelling during rush hour especially on Friday. Make sure you have booked your accommodation before it’s too late. Use the dedicated taxi & car drop off area if you can’t use public transport. Don’t try to get dropped off anywhere else. Allow plenty of time for your journey if you are using public transport.

GETTING HOME Trains will be running from both Blackpool South & Blackpool North after the show has finished, if you need to catch a train make sure you have checked the timetables. Allow plenty of time to queue if you need to make a connection. Buses and trams will also be running after the show. We want everyone to enjoy the concert and that includes our neighbours. Please be respectful & patient at all times. TRAVEL OPTIONS DON’T FORGET IT WILL BE RUSH HOUR WHEN YOU ARE HEADING FOR THE STADIUM. LOCAL TRANSPORT SERVICES WILL BE VERY BUSY. ALLOW PLENTY OF TIME TO GET HERE. TRAINS: There are regular services to Blackpool South (5 mins walk) and Blackpool North (30 mins walk) throughout the day. There are services running from both stations after the show, but PLEASE check the timetable for exact times as you may have to leave the show early to ensure you have enough time to catch your connection. BUSES & TRAMS: There are several buses and trams that stop near to Bloomfield Road, bus services 1, 5, 7, 10, 11 & 14 will get you within easy walking distance. If you are arriving on tram, the nearest stop is The Manchester and is less than a 10 minute walk to the stadium. TAXI: There are plenty of taxi companies in Blackpool that will drop off and collect you from any suitable location. DRIVING: If you have to drive to Bloomfield Road, the easiest and most direct route would be M55 and then carry on along Yeadon Way, this road will take you directly to the car parks and stadium, but it will be very busy as you approach 5pm due to rush hour traffic.


CAR PARKING: There is no free parking near the stadium. All local streetshaveparkingrestrictions.You will get a parking ticket if you use any of the local roads. If you do wish to drive then there are plenty of car parks at the end of Yeadon Way off the M55 Motorway. DISABLED PARKING: There is limited Blue Badge Holder parking on the council car parks adjacent to the stadium. DROP OFF & PICK UP: If you have no other option but to be dropped off or collected then we would recommend you use Rigby Road, this is a short 2 minute walk from the stadium. Bloomfield Road will be very busy on the night and police will issue tickets to cars that are unloading and loading. TRAVEL INFO UPDATE: Follow the Twitter @965RadioWave & @ BBCLancashire for travel updates or listen to Radio Wave on 96.5FM or BBC Radio Lancashire on 103.9FM, both stations will provide regular updates on traffic & travel news. ACCOMMODATION: There is a huge range of accommodation available in Blackpool. Make suitable arrangements ahead of the shows to avoid being disappointed or have to leave the show early to get home. REFRESHMENTS: A full range of catering will be available & the concourse bars will be open until after the show. Do not attempt to bring food or drink into the venue, as it will be confiscated. CAMERAS OR RECORDING EQUIPMENT: Please do not bring anything that could be deemed as professional photography or recording equipment into the venue, as it will be confiscated & returned to you after the event. FIRST AID: First aid posts are situated around the venue & stewards will direct you to the nearest post if you need help. DRUGS & ALCOHOL: Don’t do drugs or drink too much alcohol ahead of or during the event. There will be honesty bins as you approach the venue so make sure you use them if you are carrying something you shouldn’t. We have a state-of-the-art CCTV system so you will be caught if you are using anything illegal. We want you to enjoy yourself not get into trouble! RE-ADMITTANCE: The stadium has a strict no smoking policy. This means that if you want to leave your seat to pop outside for a cigarette you will not be allowed back in to the stadium.
