CREATING YOUR “TARGET CUSTOMER AVATAR” 1.

Put a Face to a Name.

Basic Information: Age, occupation, income, marital status, education level, city of residence, religious affiliation, quote they live by, how would ______ introduce themselves.

Get The Life (Dig deeper into your Customer Avatar’s lifestyle: Think about their personality, how other’s view them, and who they really want to be. (Wholefood shopper or Walmart Saver)

4.

See It From Their Eyes: Now think about what shapes your customer’s perspective. Knowing where she receives her news from, who she looks up to, and what values inform her decisions will help you understand the mental cues to monitor in your marketing.

5.

Pinpoint Their Problems: Go back to Step 3 and think about who your Customer Avatar really wants to be. What are 3 problems that are preventing them from becoming their ideal self. Then consider how each problem is making them feel. You’ll use this information later to determine how best to position your brand as a solution.
