DEA To Decide on Rescheduling of Cannabis in December
A DECISION ABOUT whether to reclassify cannabis as a less dangerous drug won’t come until after the presidential election. DEA set a hearing date to take comments on the historic change on December 2nd. This means that Federal cannabis legalization will likely take a larger stage in this fall’s election and any meaningful change is likely to take place well into the next administration. Biden’s administration called for the review of Cannabis’s classification by the DEA. Former President Trump voiced support for medical marijuana during his first campaign for president. But during his first term, Attorney General Jeff Sessions removed an Obama-era
policy that protected states that had legalized cannabis from federal intervention.
The DEA has said it doesn’t yet have a position on whether to go through with the change. Rescheduling cannabis would be the most significant shift in U.S. drug policy in 50 years. But it faces opposition from groups such as Smart Approaches to Marijuana (SAM).
Kevin Sabet, president of SAM, argues there isn’t enough data to reschedule cannabis. The DEA’s move to hold the hearing is “a huge win in our fight to have this decision guided by medical science, not politics,” he said in a statement, adding that 18 states’ attorneys general are backing his opposition.
Grow Into Fall
HELLO W.N.Y.! As fall approaches, the Northeast region need not worry about powdery mildew or other Vires. I met & know Mike Walsh from Fractional Growth-Mike and Brady “ the wizard” grind up crops of Indica, Sativa, Hybrids, and Hemp Cannabis, then ferment the ground-up cannabis with blackstrap for about six months to create “GREASE™” Fermented Cannabis, THE FIRST CANNABINOID BOOSTER™FOR PLANTS AND SOIL THAT INCREASES POTENCY 31% Spray once a week and drench.
I have used the Green CANNA PLANT WASH/Canna Building Blocks! The Green Label is a gem for the plant’s industrial production. It harnesses the principles of biomimicry at its finest. Spray GREASE™ Green Label on vegetation and especially on flower. It’s an amazing and safe alternative to spray on flowers that won’t leave foreign oils or residues of any kind. All GREASE™ products are free from pesticides, residuals, heavy metals, or solvents. We recommend drenching as well, as it is a proven soil conditioner that has amazing results spraying once a week indoors and outdoors.
Looking at the above image from Brady, you can see the round, circular Trichrome head. Inside this spear, you see a dark dot. The endoglandular cycle—this is full of microbes, the same as your roots, so spraying GREASE™ on your flowers or any stage of growth or entire life cycle will also shorten my autoflowers by 9 days and photo landraces by 14 days. WHAT ARE NANO CANNABINOIDS?
In drug delivery, “nano” refers to molecules that have been broken down into extremely small particles—150 nanometers or smaller (1,000 times smaller than the width of a human hair). Cannabinoids like CBD and THC are lipophilic, meaning they dissolve in fats but not in water, leading to poor absorption in the body. Nanotechnology, especially through methods like Self-Nanoemulsifying Drug Delivery Systems (SNEDDS), enhances the water solubility of cannabinoids, improving absorption and bioavailability.
WHY USE NANO CANNABINOIDS?
By creating smaller, nano-sized particles, cannabinoids can bypass the digestive system’s first-pass metabolism, entering the bloodstream more quickly and efficiently. This results in higher bioavailability, meaning a greater portion of the compound reaches the bloodstream for circulation throughout the body. For example, while traditional CBD products have oral bioavailability as low as 6%, nano CBD products can reach up to 60%. This means that consuming a 10mg traditional CBD product might result in only 0.6mg being absorbed, whereas a nano CBD product could deliver 6mg into the bloodstream.
THE SCIENCE BEHIND NANO CANNABINOIDS
Nanoemulsification increases the absorption and bioavailability of CBD and THC, which typically suffer from poor absorption when consumed traditionally. In a clinical study using Capsoil Technologies’ patented SNEDDS process, a powdered oral preparation of CBD saw significant improvements compared to a traditional tincture at the same 8mg dose. The Capsoil SNEDDS preparation delivered 2.6 times more active cannabinoids into the bloodstream, with a Cmax (peak concentration) of 10.62 ng/ ml versus 4.02 ng/ml for the tincture. Additionally, the time to peak concentration (Tmax) was significantly reduced—1.83 hours for Capsoil SNEDDS versus 5.56 hours for the tincture. This suggests that nano cannabinoids can offer the rapid onset similar to that of inhaled products while maintaining the
Mean and Is It Right for Me?
Understanding Nano CBD and THC: What Does It
Choosing the right cannabis product, whether for medical use, hemp-based CBD, or adult-use, can be daunting. With a wide array of ratios, strains, brands, and consumption methods (tinctures, gummies, capsules, lotions, vapes, flower, etc.), it’s no surprise that consumers might feel overwhelmed. One emerging option in this market is “nano” cannabinoids, such as Nano CBD and Nano THC, which are often marketed without much explanation of what sets them apart from traditional products
extended effects of orally consumed products, providing a promising alternative for those concerned with the long-term effects of vaping or smoking.
PRODUCT OPTIONS AND BENEFITS
With these advancements, a range of nano-infused products has entered the market, including beverages, edibles/ gummies, powdered drink mixes, lotions, and topicals. Additionally, the higher bioavailability of nano cannabinoids could lead to cost savings, as consumers may require lower doses to achieve the same therapeutic effects compared to traditional products.
Percise, a premium brand offering physician-formulated, hemp-based CBD products, utilizes Capsoil’s patented SNEDDS technology to enhance the bioavailability and efficacy of its formulations. Percise products are designed with medical precision, ensuring consistent and reliable relief for patients seeking a natural solution to various conditions.
RESEARCH ON SNEDDS TECHNOLOGY IN CANNABINOID DELIVERY
Recent research demonstrates the potential of SNEDDS technology in enhancing the pharmacokinetic profile of cannabinoids. In a study conducted by Capsoil Technologies, subjects consuming oral cannabis preparations using SNEDDS showed a 328% increase in THC bioavailability and a 278.8% increase in CBD bioavailability compared to oil-based tinctures. The shortened
Tmax mirrors the fast action typical of inhaled cannabis while retaining the prolonged half-life of oral consumption, making these products highly effective for a range of medical and recreational uses. Additionally, a separate study by Capsoil Technologies evaluated a CBD lotion utilizing SNEDDS technology, which resulted in 4 times greater penetration into the dermal layers compared to traditional CBD lotions. This increased absorption makes nano-infused topical products an attractive option for consumers seeking targeted relief for localized pain or inflammation, highlighting the broader potential of SNEDDS beyond oral products.
POTENTIAL CONCERNS AND CONSIDERATIONS
While nano CBD and THC products offer many benefits, they do come with considerations. The process of nanoemulsification can involve synthetic additives to stabilize formulations, so consumers should seek products from reputable brands, like Percise, that provide transparent third-party lab testing for safety and quality. The same precautions should be taken with any cannabinoid product consumers choose to buy. Due to nanotechnology there may be increased absorption and efficacy, although there is the possibility of increased side effects i.e “bigger bang for the buck”.
CONCLUSION
Nano CBD and THC products, particularly those utilizing technologies like SNEDDS, represent a breakthrough in cannabinoid delivery. With faster absorption, greater bioavailability, and a wide range of product applications, nanoemulsified cannabinoids are poised to transform cannabis markets. However, consumers should remain informed, prioritizing reputable brands and ensuring the products meet their specific needs, as well as consulting a knowledgeable healthcare provider. These innovations offer a promising future for those seeking fastacting, effective, and sustained relief. For patients interested in nano cannabinoid products I would encourage them to try the Percise line, which is the culmination of years of clinical research at the Dent with Capsoil’s innovative technology.
SATIVA VS. INDICA MYTH
IN A RECENT survey of our Case Study Labs email subscribers, we asked about strain preferences. The results were striking: 930 votes for Sativa-dominant strains versus 654 votes for Indica-dominant strains. But here’s the kicker: the very premise of this question is based on a widespread misconception in the cannabis world.
Here’s the truth: in today’s cannabis market, there are virtually no pure Sativas or Indicas left. The plants that consumers are smoking, vaping, or otherwise enjoying are, in almost every case, hybrids – and often, hybrids of hybrids of hybrids.
The terms “Sativa” and “Indica” originally referred to landrace strains – cannabis plants that evolved naturally in their native environments over thousands of years. True landrace strains are now extremely rare. What we call “Sativa” or “Indica” today are usually hybrid strains that have been selectively bred to emphasize certain characteristics associated with the original landrace varieties.
SO WHY DID THE MAJORITY OF OUR 1,500+ READERS CONFIDENTLY CHOOSE SATIVA?
The answer lies in decades of oversimplification, marketing, and the perpetuation of cannabis myths. The cannabis industry has long promoted the idea that Sativas provide an energetic, cerebral high, while Indicas offer a relaxing, body-focused experience. This dichotomy, while easy to understand and market, is far from the whole truth.
SATIVA HYPE: THE MARKETING MACHINE
Let’s get one thing straight: most of the hype around Sativa-dominant strains being the best for focus, energy, or creativity is just that—hype. It’s been pushed heavily through marketing, not science. The notion that Sativa will automatically make you more alert and aware is oversimplified at best and misleading at worst. Seasoned stoners, tend to know better. They’ve learned through experience that the effects of a strain go way beyond its categorization as either “Sativa” or “Indica.” In fact, a lot of the newer Sativa buzz is built on false advertising, with the strain being marketed for effects it doesn’t necessarily provide.
BY JOHN DOUGH
THE POWER OF GENETICS: WHY INDICA-LEANING STRAINS STILL DOMINATE
In my opinion, Indica-leaning strains tend to offer a much more well-rounded, grounded experience. Whether it’s for relaxation, pain relief, or even a strong, longlasting high, the deeper, more physical effects of Indica strains just resonate better with those who’ve been around cannabis long enough to tell the difference. Take Sour Diesel, for instance. Often labeled as a Sativa due to its energetic effects, its lineage tells a different story. Sour Diesel is believed to be a cross between Chemdawg 91 and Super Skunk. Super Skunk, despite its energizing effects, is actually an Indicadominant hybrid, being a cross of Skunk #1 and an Afghani Indica]. This Indica influence contributes to Sour Diesel’s deep, dank flavor and the body feel that many users experience alongside its cerebral effects. Similarly, Chem Dawg (or Chemdawg), has a mysterious lineage that’s believed to include both Indica and Sativa influences. Some sources suggest it might be a cross between a Thai Sativa and a Nepalese Indica. Its effects can vary from energetic to relaxing, demonstrating how a strain’s genetics can produce a range of experiences that don’t fit neatly into the Sativa or Indica categories. These strains blur the lines between Sativa and Indica, and that’s where the nuance lies. Their complex genetic backgrounds result in terpene profiles and cannabinoid ratios that can’t be simplified to just “upper” or “downer” effects. For example, Chem Dawg is known for its high levels of terpenes like myrcene (typically associated with relaxation) and limonene (often linked to mood elevation), contributing to its multifaceted effects. Which brings us to our next point…
THE ENTOURAGE EFFECT: IT’S NOT JUST ABOUT THC
One thing that keeps getting lost in the noise is the entourage effect—the synergistic interaction between cannabinoids, terpenes, flavonoids, and other compounds in cannabis that create a complex, full-body experience. Real heads know that it’s not just the THC content that matters. Too many new consumers focus on THC percentages, thinking that higher THC equals a better high, when, in reality, that’s only part of the story. It’s the terpenes—those aromatic compounds that give cannabis its smell and taste—that often play a much bigger role in shaping the actual experience. Whether it’s limonene for mood elevation, myrcene for relaxation, or caryophyllene for anti-inflammatory effects, the entire profile of the plant, not just its THC percentage, determines how it affects you.
WHY “SHOPPING FOR THC” IS A MISTAKE
A lot of consumers today, especially newer ones, fall into the trap of shopping based on THC percentage. They’re hunting for that 30%+ strain, convinced it’ll deliver the best experience, when in reality, they could be missing out on some incredible strains with lower THC but a better overall profile. This “more-is-better” mindset is flawed.
True connoisseurs know that it’s about balance, not just raw potency. A lower-THC strain with the right combination of terpenes and cannabinoids can easily deliver a more enjoyable, complex, and long-lasting high than a THC-heavy strain with a bland terpene profile.
HOW TO REALLY CHOOSE YOUR STRAIN
So, how do you choose a strain? Don’t just listen to the marketing machine. Instead: Know your terpenes: If you’re after a specific experience—whether it’s relaxation, creativity, or pain relief—learn which terpenes are associated with those effects and seek strains with those profiles.
Experiment with genetics: Not all Indicas are sedating, and not all Sativas are energizing. The hybridization of modern cannabis means you need to explore specific strains, not just categories.
Forget the THC percentage: Look at the overall cannabinoid profile. CBG, CBD, and even lesser-known cannabinoids like THCV allplay a role in shaping how you feel.
Trust your own experience: What worked for someone else might not work for you. The more you consume, the more you’ll understand how different strains affect you personally. The nose, knows!
THE BOTTOM LINE: DON’T BE A FOLLOWER
The truth is, the distinction between Sativa and Indica is becoming more and more outdated as strains evolve and hybridize. The real question is: how does the plant make you feel? It’s not about labels or THC numbers—it’s about the full experience, the smell, the flavor, and how your body and mind react to it.
So, next time you’re in a dispensary, don’t just buy the marketing hype. Look beyond the percentages and strain types, and make your decision based on what truly matters: the entourage effect, the genetic background, and your personal experience. You’ll be glad you did.

CULINARY JOURNEY
From Jamaica to Buffalo: The Story of
Chef BIG WAYNE A
Chef Big Wayne’s story is a testament to the power of passion and perseverance.
Born and raised in Jamaica, Big Wayne’s love for cooking began in his grandmother’s kitchen, where he learned the secrets of Jamaican cuisine by watching her cook and then experimenting with his friends. This early exposure to traditional Jamaican flavors ignited a passion for cooking that would shape the rest of his life. After graduating from high school, Big Wayne’s culinary journey took a formal turn when he enrolled in culinary school. This education provided him with a strong foundation in culinary techniques and knowledge, which he further honed through practical experience working in a meat shop. Eager to gain experience in a professional kitchen setting, Big Wayne then took a job as a dishwasher at the Iberostar Hotel. Starting from the ground up, he steadily climbed the ranks, working his way up to kitchen helper, cook B, cook A, and eventually supervisor. These years at the Iberostar Hotel were invaluable for Big Wayne, as they allowed him to develop his culinary skills, learn from experienced chefs, and gain a deep understanding of professional kitchen operations. In 2020, Big Wayne decided to take the next step in his culinary journey by starting his own private cooking business. This venture allowed him to share his passion for Jamaican cuisine with a wider audience and
create unique dining experiences for his clients. Three years later, in 2023, Big Wayne made a lifechanging decision to immigrate to Buffalo, NY. It was here that he finally realized his dream of opening his own restaurant, aptly named Chef Bigwayne Jamaican Cuisine.
Chef Bigwayne’s restaurant is more than just a place to eat; it’s a celebration of Jamaican culture and heritage. His passion for his homeland shines through in every dish on the menu, which features authentic Jamaican recipes passed down through generations of his family. From jerk chicken and saltfish ackee to curry goat and fried plantains, Chef Bigwayne’s dishes are a delicious exploration of the vibrant flavors of Jamaica. We speak from experience when we say that the jerk chicken is on another level. Chef Bigwayne provided plenty of jerk chicken to patrons at CannaBuff’s Rhythm and Roots Festival this past July.
What truly sets Chef Bigwayne Jamaican Cuisine apart is Big Wayne’s dedication to creating a memorable dining experience for every customer. He is committed to using fresh, highquality ingredients and preparing each dish with care and attention to detail. But beyond the food itself, Big Wayne’s restaurant is a place where guests can come together to enjoy a taste of Jamaica’s warm hospitality and rich cultural heritage.
Chef Big Wayne’s story is an inspiration to aspiring chefs and food lovers alike. It’s a reminder that with passion, dedication, and a willingness to learn, anyone can achieve their culinary dreams. By sharing his love for Jamaican cuisine with the Buffalo community, Chef Big Wayne is not only providing delicious food but also fostering a deeper appreciation for Jamaican culture. So, if you’re looking for an authentic Jamaican dining experience in Buffalo, look no further than Chef Bigwayne Jamaican Cuisine.
