Have you ever tried to roll a perfect joint and it ended up looking like a broken finger? Maybe you’ve lost more lighters than you can count. Regardless of why you might be in the market for cannabis tech, a new herbal vaporizer is the perfect way to celebrate the holiday season.
As cannabis slowly moves into the mainstream, so too have the tools that make it easier and more efficient to consume. Choosing the right vaporizer can be a daunting decision, especially considering price and the amount of options and features to marvel at. Below you can find CannaBuff’s top recommendations for herbal vaporizers, as well as notable accessories for each.
MIGHTY/MIGHTY+
IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR SOMETHING HIGH END, STORZ & BICKEL’S MIGHTY VAPORIZER COULD BE FOR YOU. YOU SURELY WON’T BE DISAPPOINTED WITH THE FLAVOR AND PERFORMANCE OF THIS VAPE.
$349-400
The unit itself is handheld, though slightly bigger than what could be deemed pocket-sized. Despite the portability, the Mighty is better suited as a wireless home/travel vaporizer as the battery life is approximately 90 minutes, or about 8-10 sessions. One complaint I have with the Mighty is how unsturdy the device is when left on a flat surface. Also, sessions with the Mighty are best reserved for 1-2 people as the material gets used up rather quickly. Noteworthy upsides to the device are rapid heat-up times, cheap replacement parts, minimal cleaning, and consistent results with each session.
Accessory LOADING FUNNEL |$49 Enjoy 40 separate dosing capsules for your Mighty, making it effortless to pack pre-ground servings for on-the-go sessions or easy loading at home.
ARIZER V-TOWER/EQ/XQ2
$89-120-239
MOST DESKTOP VAPORIZERS ARE SURE TO COST YOU A PRETTY PENNY. BUT THEY DON’T HAVE TO. ENTER THE WORLD OF ARIZER AND VAPORIZING NEVER LOOKED SO AFFORDABLE.
WHILE THE MIGHTY MAY HAVE AN EDGE ON PERFORMANCE COMPARED TO THE AIR, THIS DEVICE DOES A REMARKABLE JOB DESPITE THE NEAR-HALF PRICE DIFFERENCE.
A typical, top-of-the-line desktop vape, like the Volcano, retails at around $500. In my experience, the Arizer V-Tower, EQ (Extreme Quiet), or XQ2 will give you the best value for your money. The device is optimal for group settings as the chamber can hold up to 0.7 grams. The silicon whip also streamlines consumption as there are no crunchy bags or hot parts to complicate the process. The device, depending on the version, has customizable settings, shut-off timers, mood lights, a remote control, internal fan (if a bag is desired) and interchangeable screens for filtration. All things considered, sessions with the V-Tower, EQ, or XQ2 will give you all the benefits of a larger desktop vape without the major dent in your bank account.
Accessory DDAVE’S MEGADAPTER |$12 This addition to the V-Tower or EQ brings your bowl closer to the heating element, improving vapor quality. It also adds extra capacity for longer sessions and includes useful brushes and funnel tools, too. To reduce cleaning and maintenance and increase airflow on your V-Tower or EQ, consider buying a glass screen adapter from Arizer.
ARIZER AIR II
$150
The simplicity of the Arizer Air II is similar to that of Arizer’s desktop units. There are three buttons that control the Air II +/- buttons to adjust the temperature, and a menu button to adjust settings. The device comes with multiple glass stems for prepacked sessions and is perfect for dosing small amounts. The biggest draw to this vaporizer (besides the price) is the quick charging time and the ability to have interchangeable batteries, a feature not present in the Mighty or Mighty+. The Air II gives users access to a tasty, portable vaping experience at a fraction of the cost of comparable portable models.
Accessory BUBBLER MOUTHPIECE |$15 Besides making your Air II look more like some sort of intergalactic weapon, this glass stem makes higher temperatures smoother and extends the length of your sessions. Speaking of which, a spare battery is well worth the investment.
HONORABLE MENTION PAX 3
SINCE 2012, WEED TECH ENTHUSIASTS HAVE PRAISED THE PAX AS THE “APPLE OF VAPORIZERS.” CHARACTERIZED BY SMOOTH CURVES, A “FOUR PETAL” LED DISPLAY AND A MAGNETIC CHARGER, AESTHETICS AND THE USER EXPERIENCE IS WHERE THE PAX 3 TRULY SHINES.
$250
Pax 3 is bluetooth compatible, meaning users can change “modes” to optimize the device for flavor, potency, stealth, or efficiency. Unfortunately, with Apple regulations limiting vaping applications on the App Store, iPhone users can only access these features through a special web browser. The mouthpiece doubles as the only button on the device, allowing one to change the temperature incrementally. The portable vaporizer even includes three small mini games you can play on the petals using the gyroscope. Although it requires frequent and thorough cleaning, the refined experience of the Pax is worth it if you want a device that slips into your pocket and looks entirely neutral to those who are unfamiliar with it. If you are new to dry herb vaping and want something with little to no learning curve, the Pax 3 is the perfect choice.
Accessory BUDKIT PLUS |$54.95 This accessory is essential for packing, storing, and using your cannabis with efficiency. The kit comes with a loading funnel, a humidity-controlled storage tin, and six BudKups 3.0 to increase airflow. The BudKit Plus gives you everything you need to have your Pax ready to go at all times.
