Fifth Third Bank. Member FDIC.

Welcome to Charlie Jordan Field, home of the GENERALS On behalf of the Shiloh football players and coaches, I want to welcome you to tonight’s game. Much effort has been put forth in preparation for this season. The players, managers, cheerleaders, band members and other students and support staff have put in countless hours on and off the field during the past several months. The Shiloh community is proud of what all our students are achieving on and off the field and also in the classroom. Together, they are making great things happen every day. A commitment to “Leading by Example” our school motto is shown all across campus. I want to THANK all who have helped get this season off to wonderful start. The TDC and community businesses supporting this program and the other programs on display tonight are a key to their success. The support of the parents is greatly appreciated. Thank you for allowing us to work with your student athletes. Special Thanks to our principal, Dr. Eric Parker, the rest of his administrative team, and the faculty and staff at Shiloh for your efforts in molding these young men and women into future leaders. I want to thank my family, for being a loving family who truly supports my efforts. I also want to extend that same thanks to our assistant coaches and their families. Many hours away from home are spent working with these young men by all of the staff in preparation for the season. Those sacrifices are not going unnoticed. My goal is to include all of you in the vision of our program. And to stir that emotional connection you once felt for the program that has made such a positive impact in all our lives. Shiloh High school Football is ready to step that next step. I encourage you all to get involved with returning our program to excellence and I look forward to seeing you all this coming season. Dear Shiloh Community, I am excited and proud to welcome you to the 2014 season of Shiloh Football. The players and coaches have worked hard in preparation for this season and I am proud of the progress they have made and commitment shown. There is also a positive vibe surrounding this football program and I believe that it will result in great play form our Generals this year. Aside from stellar academics, the athletic program is a large part of our school’s culture, pride, and tradition. I look forward to further supporting Shiloh athletics and this football program under the leadership of Coach Hobbs. This will be a successful season and the future is bright for Shiloh Football. Thank you in advance for your ongoing support of our players and coaches this season. Warm regards,

Who is Charlie Jordan? Shiloh’s Own Charlie Jordan Stadium

A career assistant coach and teacher beginning in 1972 at Savannah High, Jordan came to Shiloh High as an assistant when it opened in 1984 and later was the Generals’ successful head coach (1989-98) and athletic director. Charlie was instrumental in the building of the stadium in 1996. Shiloh’s athletic facilities were so sorely lacking and underfunded that Jordan helped lead the initiative that would raise $1.8 million over several years. The school didn’t have a stadium when he arrived, nor did it have one town, instead drawing students from five zip codes in Stone Mountain, Snellville, Lithonia and Lilburn. They needed a central focal point. “We convinced people that that was their town without really having a town,” Jordan said. “We did it by building a stadium. It’s still one of the prettiest high school stadiums to me. I guess because we worked to build it.” Jordan wouldn’t allow the stadium to be renamed for him when he got the news of the 2003 field dedication pending Gwinnett School Board approval. “I was very surprised,” he said. “I thought you had to be dead before something like that happened. I had to stop and check to make sure I’m still breathing.” Dominitz, N. (2008, April 30). http:// savannahnow.com/sports/2008-04-30/ jordan-honored-greater-savannah-athletichall-fame. WIN THE DAY Shiloh Family – Welcome to Shiloh Football 2014, it’s finally here, the year that we have all been waiting for at Shiloh, the year that we break out and turn Gwinnett County on its’ head! Last year’s team had the best team record in ten years, going 5-5, beating South Gwinnett, Parkview and Central Gwinnett and setting the stage for the playoffs in 2014. The 2014 Generals have done all that Coach Hobbs and his staff have asked of them, working hard and getting stronger and faster in preparation for a record setting year in 2014. We ask that everyone get behind this team and get on board for a truly incredible year! Thanks and see you at the SHILOH COMMUNITY STADIUM!

The only good thing about

CONCUSSIONS is that they can be

T R E AT E D . Knowing the facts could save your athlete’s life. Recognition and proper management of concussions when they first occur can prevent further injury or even death. Most athletes can safely return to play after a concussion, but must recover at their own rate. The Concussion Institute at Gwinnett Medical Center-Duluth is the first facility of its kind in the Southeast, and its experts help athletes return to the field as quickly, and as safely, as possible. Do not follow where the path may lead. Go, instead, where there is no path and leave a trail.

—Ralph Waldo Emerson

Try not to become a man of success, but rather try to become a man of value. —Albert Einstein

We are so very proud of you. May God continue to be the head of your life and we know great things will follow. Love Always, Dad, Mom, and Camille

WIN THE DAY “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, ‘Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?’ Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
