HISTORY
OF
GUCCI
The brand started out as a luggage manufacturer, producing luxury travel goods for Italy’s wealthy upperclasses. Initially the brand produced primarily leather goods, premium knitwear, silk goods, shoes and handbags. Gucci experienced incredible success as a label of choice amongst wealthy travellers and Hollywood stars and other wellheeled shoppers. Renowned for its extravagant, opulent designs. Guccio Gucci passed away in 1953, but the business continued under the leadership of his three sons, Aldo, Vasco and Rodolfo.

The use of the two G’s is in direct reference to the initials of Guccio Gucci himself - an artistic and memorable way to make the founder’s significance represented in a visually timeless manner. The Black colour represents the dominance, excellence, and elegance of the brand.

PACKAGING
Gucci was the luxury brand that pioneered to start using sustainable packaging in the industry. They launched new packaging that was 100% recyclable, plastic-free, and used water-based inks.
