CARLTON DEMENTIA CARE CENTRE aims to assist dementia patients [and elderly patients] in restoring their sense of control, which are often absent in poorly-designed health facilities that disregard patients' unspoken needs. The design of A.BOUND is founded on familial values of abounding support. Structure — A.BOUND’s underlying structure is made apparent on both interior and exterior. > IDEA: ABOUNDING SUPPORT Support is a core family value. Family members ought to offer abounding support as a means of displaying care. A.BOUND realises this idea by two key elements: its underlying structure and roof, which synonymously provide abounding support for its occupants.
Roof — A.BOUND’s superimposed gable roofs accentuates a supportive and protective interior atmosphere.

> IDEA: WRAPPED BY NATURE Building occupants often become oblivious to their surroundings once they are inside. WARPWAY attempts to revert the attention back to the surrounding Queen Victoria Gardens by designing an experience of being sheltered in the omnipresence of nature.
Sun Path — WARPWAY’s form physically expresses the sun as an omnipresent element of nature, and the form shelters occupants from sun rays.

Sinuous Wrap — WARPWAY's sinuous, fluid form unifies the supposedly disjointed, conventional enclosure elements (walls and roof) to form a single wrap.
> FORM: GRASSHOPPER 3D WARPWAY was entirely modelled on Grasshopper 3D. Grasshopper 3D was valuable in the form-finding process because it greatly facilitated the development of iterations. WARPWAY's area, height, depth, thickness, and tilt are all parametrically adjustable with Grasshopper 3D.

> SITE PLAN CASA CALOR is situated on a 144 metre-square residential complex lot in West Jakarta. Its double-storey height takes into account the height of its neighbouring houses.
Curving Curtain Wall — Its curvature is synonymous to the dynamic hearty nature of warmth and familial love. Open Plan— Absence of spatial division accentuates the living space as a familial melting pot. > IDEA: UNIFYING WARMTH Individual family members are distinct, yet the warmth of their familial love unifies them together — diversely unique, yet glued as one. CASA CALOR delightfully cherises this abstract idea by focusing on designing the living space as the family’s melting pot.

> OVERVIEW As a current full-time intern at WILLIS KUSUMA ARCHITECTS [WKA], my tasks include producing 1:100 schematic drawings, 3D models, and building multiple 1:100 hand-cut physical scale models. WKA's internship program enabled me to grasp and refine a workflow consisting of SketchUp 3D, Autodesk AutoCAD, Rhinoceros 3D, Adobe InDesign, and precise physical model-making. In addition, I was also invited to attend WKA's lectures and project site visits.
