Projects
In 2019, the GTCC Corporate Services Department organised yet again a great variety of exclusive target group-specific projects, business delegations, events and workshops that were aimed at promoting bilateral trade relations between Thailand and Germany. In addition, activities/projects under the framework of the German Chamber ASEAN Business Council (GCABC) were supported. The department processed around 1,000 business and trade requests in 2019.
The portfolio of activities in 2019 included (but was not limited to) projects supported by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi), private sector businesses, government/federal state agencies, industry associations and authorities in both Germany and Thailand as well as content-driven events in Thailand (see the list in the next page). In 2019 GTCC organised a total of six business delegation trips to Germany: the number of participants increased +41.6% (y-o-y).

11 October 2019 ASEAN Roadshow – Bangkok German National Tourist Board (GTNB), in co-operation with GTCC, organised a B2B workshop and a networking event for relevant business partners and target groups.
19-27 October 2019 Business trip on “Innovative Materials Organised by the GTCC in co-operation with and Plastic Technology” to Germany NSTDA, the delegation trip featured a visit to K2019 (the world’s premier fair for the plastics and rubber industry) as well as site visits to Covestro Deutschland AG, Coperion GmbH and Kistler Group.

A selection of activities of the GTCC corporate services portfolio is detailed below.
• Address research and market information In 2019, the Corporate Services Department supported Thai and German companies in establishing business contacts by offering and providing its popular address research service. Within the scope of this service, the department selected potential business partners in line with clients’ requirements and delivered verified, accountable and up-to-date contact details.
• Business matching For a more advanced, in-depth and value-added partner search service, the Corporate Services Department offers German and Thai clients its widely sought-after business matching service. The service includes organising individual target group meetings with potential business partners, government officials and associations that are preselected in accordance with clients’ requirements. If initial interest is shown in co-operation with a client company, contact will be established and follow-up activities planned.
• (Technical) workshops The Corporate Services Department organises (technical) workshops for potential business customers in order to support the positioning of client companies in the target market. It also invites target group-specific participants and organises the relevant venues for the workshops as well as technical equipment. This service acts as an ideal platform for companies seeking to expand their current customer base as well as foster long-term relationships with existing clients.
• Other DEinternational activities Staff of the Corporate Services Department actively supported and undertook the following activities: • Numerous meetings with company representatives from various industry sectors for business advisory and service purposes with regard to Thailand and Germany as strategic business locations and hubs; • Supporting activities of GCABC; • Organising events hosted by the GTCC; • Organising (technical) workshops, seminars and trade fairs.
