PAL Final Examination Part 1 in Automotive Mechatronics at Mercedes-Benz (Thailand) Training Centre, Samutprakarn

GTDEE/GTCC organised the PAL Final Examination Part 1 (Practical and Theoretical) in Automotive Mechatronics during 9-12 January 2023 for the Mercedes-Benz Apprenticeship Programme batch 2021. Led by GTDEE Project Director, Mr. Markus Hoffmann and Senior Project Manager, Dr. Kamonsak Suradom, the examination took place at the Mercedes-Benz Competence Centre at Bangna-Trad km. 19, Samut Prakan. The Examination Committee comprised experts from the College of Industrial Technology at King Mongkut's University of Technology North Bangkok as well as an independent examiner from the private sector.

PAL Final Examination, Part 1, in Automotive Mechatronics at BMW Training Center, Pathum Thani

GTDEE/GTCC organised the PAL Final Examination Part 1 for the BMW Service Apprentice Programme batch 2021 on 23-26 January 2023 at the BMW Group Thailand Training Center, Pathum Thani Province. The examination was held in accordance with German dual vocational education and training (VET) international (level A) standards. The Independent Examination Committee, made up of experts from the Automotive Engineering Department, the College of Industrial Technology, King Mongkut University of Technology North Bangkok (KMUTNB), GTCC and independent experts, ensured a fair and accurate assessment for all apprentices.

Co-hosting a roundtable meeting with the Construction Training Center of Nord Rhein Westfalen (NRW), Germany

On 3 February 2023, GTCC/GTDEE and the Construction Training Center of NRW hosted a roundtable meeting at the Avani Riverside Bangkok Hotel, to discuss and explore co-operation opportunities in vocational education and training between VET institutions and higher education institutions in Thailand. Representatives of 15 organisations from the industrial, vocational education and university sectors attended the meeting, which started with welcoming remarks from Dr. Bozkurt of Berufsför derungswerk der Bauindustrie NRW (BFW) and Ms. Regina Kimpel of the German Embassy in Bangkok. Overall, the roundtable meeting was an important platform for exchanging ideas, knowledge and insights, and it paved the way for future collaboration in the field of vocational education and training.

Welcoming Dr. Kristina Heussner, Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Action

Team was delighted to welcome Dr. Kristina Heussner, Head of Foreign Trade and Investment Promotion Department, Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action, Germany, for a site visit to the partners of the dual vocational education and training (DVET) – Don Bosco Technological College, Pathumthani Brewery and BMW Barcelona Motor Vibhavadi. Regarding GTDEE's 10 year anniversary this year, the team proudly presented her together with a part of the DVET partners’ insights of the GTCC success in implementing Dual vocational education and training, Train the Trainer and Technical Teacher Training in Thailand.

Meeting with RMUTI Khon Kaen Campus

On 21 February 2023, GTDEE team held meetings with the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Technical Education, Rajamangala University of Technology Isan (RMUTI) team on Sharing Experiences in Mechatronics Training and Development under Project-Based Learning in the German Standard. The GTDEE team included the translation of the Mechatronics Textbook into the Thai language, and the Teacher Manual and Student Manual guiding textbooks for practical training in English. After the meeting, all of participants visited the Automation Training venue at the Faculty of Engineering.

Meeting with Khon Kaen Technical College and Nakhon Ratchasima Technical College

On 22 February 2023, GTDEE team met with the head of Mechatronics Department and team at Khon Kaen Technical College and in the afternoon met with the head of the department and Technical Teachers in Mechatronics in VET programme at Nakhon Ratchasima Technical College. The meeting focused on sharing experiences in Mechatronics Training and Development under project-based learning in the German Standard. The GTDEE team also introduced the Thai language version of the Mechatronics Textbook.

Meeting with Samut Prakan Institute for Skill Development

On 23 February 2023, GTDEE met with the Director of Samut Prakan Institute for Skill Development at the welding training building. The meeting focused on AdA International Training for Welding Trainers. Dr. Sukanjana Lekapat, administrator from the Welding Institute of Thailand (WIT) joined the meeting and shared knowledge about the level of qualification for welders to achieve international standards.

Meeting with Singburi Technical College

On 28 February 2023, GTDEE organised a meeting with Singburi Technical College on Mechatronics Vocational Education and Training Development under Project-Based Learning. GTDEE shared its experiences of how to develop mechatronics technicians in the VET programme regarding the mechatronics textbook and technical teacher training and development based on the German Standard.

Meeting with KMUTNB on Industrial Meister Development

On 2 March 2023, GTDEE team and Dr. Saowakhon, Director of the ThaiGerman Pre- Engineering School ( KMUTNB) discussed new pedagogical approaches and opportunities for wood working professions, yesterday. The focus was on up-to-date training materials from EUROPA Lehrmittel Verlag in Germany and opportunities for a qualification based on German standards.

PAL Final examination, Part 2 at Pathumthani Brewery Co., Ltd.

The GTDEE team organised the PAL Final Examination, Part 2 in Electronics at the Maintenance Training Centre, Pathumthani Brewery Co., Ltd. during 2-3 March 2023. The Examination Committee comprised experts from the Electronics Engineering Department, College of Industrial Technology, King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok as well as Bangkok Cable Co., Ltd. and GTCC. The examination was held under the German dual vocational education and training abroad (DIHK Certificate – Level A).

Pre-Selection in Automotive Mechatronics Apprentice Programme

Between January and March 2023, GTDEE co-worked with the Automotive Department from seven partner Vocational Colleges – Chitralada Vocational School, Don Bosco Technological College Bangkok, Lopburi Technical College, Samut Prakan Technical College, Eastern Technological College (E.Tech), Bangkaewfa Industrial Community Education College and Banphai Industrial Community Education College – on pre-selection by an aptitude test for the students who graduated in the Automotive Techniques and Electrical Programme. The applicants were applying for the Automotive Mechatronics Apprenticeship Programme under co-operation with the GTDEE programme. The theoretical testing and practical testing were held on the same date for one college.

Mechatronics Final Examination Part 2 at E.Tech

On 16 March 2023, GTDEE team organised GTCC Final Examination Part 2 in Mechatronics for students of the Eastern Technological College Batch 2021. This examination was organised for the first time in English language for the theoretical part and based on the

PAL Final Examination in German standards and in line with the DIHK AHK Certificate Level B). Under project-based learning, the students took the examination about the production of the modular sorting system.
