Beauty standards
Definition:
Beauty standards are something that makes women feel like they need to do the impossible to their original features in order to have a placement in society.
BLACK WOMEN ARE TOLD THAT OUR NATURAL HAIR IS UNPROFESSIONAL BUT STRAIGHTENED HAIR IS PROFESSIONAL. Dar Natur Wide Thicke Racism and sexism play into beauty standards "Ideal" Beauty Standards Today Fair skin/lighter Skinny waist Smaller figure Straight/Wavy hair "Non-Ideal"
The Negative Impacts of Beauty Standards
It may be soul-crushing to feel pressured by the need to fit in with what society considers attractive. It may result in mental health problems such sadness, anxiety, eating disorders, and body dysphoria. It may also encourage individuals, particularly young ladies, to look for other surgical procedures to achieve this "ideal" appearance.
All For One There should be a consistent thing where us women are uplifting one another. We should be able to show support and validation through compliments, liking each other's posts, showing each other that we care about one another, and teaching each other beauty tips.
I am celebrating my curves because it makes me feel confident.

Youngpeoplespendmostoftheirtime inschool,where-inadditiontolearning academicsubjects- stereotypes,social norms,beautystandardsandmoreare reinforcedandreplicated. Inadditiontoschoolwork, extracurriculars,and normalsocialactivities, Blackstudents(especially Blackgirlsandgender expansiveyoungpeople) alsohavetocontendwith schoolpushout.
What is School Pushout?
The word "Pushout" refers to the punitive discipline practices schools use, which exclude students from class and too often push them out of school altogether. These practices affect all students but they disproportionately affect students of color, students with disabilities and LGBTQ Students.
How are Black girls and femmes impacted by this? {give us your answer below!}

7x
According to the National Black Women's Justice Institute, Black girls are 7 times more likely to be suspended and 4 times more likely to be arrested at school compared to their white peers.
Women of Color are often portrayed as "ghetto, disrespectful, noisy and hostile". Amusingly, being assertive, stating your opinion and making yourself heard are applauded as great influences when it's demonstrated by white girls. But this behavior is scolded towards Black females.

"
The real answer is that there isn't " one answer.
Black girls are being expelled and suspended at alarming rates; discipline policies are informed by racial biases and stereotypes.
