Exploring Rosa Clara’s Exquisite Bridal Line
Rosa Clará entered the bridal sector almost 20 years ago. Opening the firm’s first wedding gown shop in Barcelona, it offered innovative designs created from the highest quality of fabrics to a growing market niche that didn’t identify with the products on sale at the time. This new take on bridal wear revolutionized the sector, and soon after, franchised Rosa Clará shops sprang up throughout the rest of the world. We asked Rosa Clará about the bridal trends of 2016, and her tips for the bride-to-be to find the perfect dress for her big day!
What’s new this year in terms of bridal gowns and accessories? This year in Rosa Clara we have different styles that suit every bride and her body shape. We have mermaid, princess, straight and flared styles to name some. We also have backless, strapless and gowns with a back. Our aim is to meet all brides’ requirements and tastes.
What about accessories?
Actually, we have matching accessories for every dress. We have veils, jackets, gloves and cancans that make the bride look perfect on her special day. We also have sleeveless gowns, long sleeves and Juliette sleeves. We have shoes for cocktail dresses and wedding dresses as well. As we have shops all over the world, our collection is very diversified to meet tastes and trends of all cultures.

How long does it take to start and complete a wedding dress? Around 3 to 4 months.
Where do you get your inspiration from?
From streets, travels, fairs; and above all the personality, style and wishes of the brides. Because for us the most important issue is to fulfill the dream of each bride.
What advice do you give to young brides to get their hands on the perfect wedding dress?
I advise every bride to open her mind to different styles and not to focus just on one style, so she can find the dress that suits her and her body shape the best. Sometimes, the bride wants a certain style but maybe it is not the best gown for her. So I advise her to go to the dressing room, try more gowns, and when she finally tries what suits her; she always looks in the mirror and the mirror tells her “YES that’s the one!”
What’s new in Rosa Clará’s 2016 collection?
As I mentioned, in Rosa Clara we have many styles, and this year we have a new range that matches Middle East ladies perfectly; with gowns having big volumes and plenty of beads.
Any funny incidents with bridezellas?
I remember one incident, when a bride came into our shop having purchased a dress from another brand. She was very upset because she was not sure at all with her choice. She could not stop crying until we show her a nice gown that she really fell in love with. The issue was that she needed it ready in 5 days! So we were in a hurry and we had to work nonstop 4 days and nights to get the dress ready in time. To our pleasure, she was very happy with the results, and had a very pretty wedding.
Designing for Arab bodies, is it different or difficult in your opinion?
Actually, it is not difficult; though there is a small difference in terms of the most needed sizes. As I said, we have shops all over the world and we are operating in most of the Arab countries. And we have produced some models especially for the Arab clientele. We have long sleeved cocktail dresses that suit the Middle Eastern style, and our bridal styles match the Arab bodies very well.
Who operates Rosa Clara Group in Egypt? And where are your stores? SIG is a leading Egyptian company that has 9 main subsidiaries in Automotive, Retail, Distribution, Food & Beverage, Logistics, Agriculture, Energy, Textile and Construction.

Fairytale Wedding Photos Where to Make your Dream Come True?
By Susan Ryan
How many wedding photos have you seen that were taken in reception centers or hotel interiors that have no individuality or atmosphere? I suspect the answer is “Too Many”! Every article you read about wedding planning goes on and on about “the special day”. Yet so many wedding photographs turn out looking like the bride, groom, their attendants, family and friends are all visiting some bizarre theme park and posing in costumes. Nothing special or unique at all! And the settings often add nothing to reflect the couple’s personalities. Sometimes the bride and groom don’t even look happy. They just look uncomfortable! As if they would rather be anywhere but this place that people advised would be “perfect”.
Isn’t it time to think beyond the traditional and the usual? Do you want your photos to look as magical as the ball scene from Cinderella, or romantic as her meeting with the Prince? Then look for somewhere AMAZING to have your photographs taken. Why not marry in an excitingly different location? Why not choose the place based on its potential to provide a stunning backdrop?
While having your wedding photos taken on top of Mt Everest or in the Grand Canyon is not an option, if you want to include all guests; there is no reason you cannot have pre or post-wedding photos taken somewhere incredible; starring just you and your bride/groom. You even can have most of the photos taken at your honeymoon destination. And if you want to include everyone, make the honeymoon destination somewhere accessible to all guests where you’ll also have the reception. Obviously if that is your choice, you gotta make it somewhere that is not so exotically expensive or else none of them would be able actually attend.
If you want to keep your honeymoon to yourselves, or if you want to stick with the usual venues for the day of the wedding; consider having a series of commitment photographs taken in advance of the actual day. These could be somewhere you have both always wanted to go, or somewhere that is special for you _holds cherished memories in your relationship. A good photographer can bring to it a perspective that makes it look special. And the photos will continue to speak to you over the years of marriage ahead. Also, you are likely to revisit such favorite places, but how many people revisit the reception venue where their photos were taken, or think of that venue (where countless others have married) many years later with deep affection?

The Acrobatic Couple
Hot Spots
A Picture Is Worth a Thousand Words!
Would you attempt to create photographs like the Acrobatic Couple who decided that instead of having one big wedding with guests and all the trimmings, they would ditch the crowd and travel; getting married in more than 40 places along the way? Cheetah Platt and Rhian Woodyard arranged a world trip wedding with the aim of getting married in as many places as they could in just under 90 days. They were officially ordained so that they could marry each other in any place they choose. Their extraordinary wedding photos include ceremonies in Egypt, India, Thailand, and Ireland.
Rhian said,
“
A lot of women spend a whole lot of money on their one day, and then it’s over. I love that I get to marry [him] over and over again.
”
What I like most about this couple is their unique approach to getting married, for example in New York they donated their beautiful wedding cake to a homeless shelter in downtown NYC. You can follow their long distance wedding at
https://www.facebook.com/cheetah.platt
Wedding photo Hot Spots Most couples won’t be contemplating a wedding album like Cheetah and Rhian’s, but here are some suggestions that may fit your personality and interests. Some may look unattainably expensive or challenging, but use them as a starting point and work backwards to find your own version; accessible in distance and budget. Then you will have found your own perfect wedding photo Hot Spot.

Heart Sea Arch in Portugal Could you find a more romantic location than the Heart Sea Arch in Portugal? There are several heart shaped natural formations around the world, including a heart shaped reef in the Whitsundays, Australia that would look much more original than posing amid fairy lights, dressed in draped satin in a hotel!

Lake Louise in Canada While Venice will always be the favorite wedding setting for romantics, the lakes of Italy provide equally sublime, less crowded backdrops, for example Lake Misurina where you could stay at the Grand Hotel. But for an astounding lake and mountain setting with fairytale style accommodation you can’t beat the Fairmont Chateau, which rests at the edge of the turquoise waters of Lake Louise in Canada. The lake is surrounded by the peaks of the Canadian Rocky Mountains and the beauty of the Banff National Park. I was blessed to stay there when my sister married. While her marriage was actually in a lovely tea room by the riverside in Calgary, my father and I stayed at the Chateau on our way to attend the wedding. There were newly married couples among the guests during our stay, and many come there specifically to be photographed with the view of lake and mountains.
Even when it is snowing and freezing cold outside, photographs inside the hotel, with its huge window as a feature, make for treasured memories. The scenery is almost too much to take in, so why not do it by helicopter? Can you imagine floating above one of the most stunning mountain ranges in the world with the person you love? The Kananaskis Heli Tours’ Romance Package is for people celebrating anniversaries, proposals, weddings or any other special occasion. As well the Rockies packages offer a private helicopter experience with a one-hour stop in the wilderness. http://www.rockiesheli.com
Niagara Falls Do you both have adventurous spirits? Then a trip to one of the world’s greatest natural wonders could be a wedding present you can share together. At Niagara Falls you could take the Sky Chapel Helicopter and exchange vows while flying 1,900 feet over the Falls. You can bring up two guests and the photographer.

The Dark Hedges in Northern Ireland For those who want some mystery in their photos, rather than sunshine and beaches, The Dark Hedges in Northern Ireland is inspirational! This beautiful avenue of beech trees was planted by the Stuart family in the eighteenth century to impress visitors as they approached the entrance to their home; Gracehill House. Two centuries later, the trees have become known as the Dark Hedges.
EGYPT
You don’t have to travel so far from home to find superb locations. Egypt has haunting deserts, sparkling seas and pristine beaches; and near all of these are luxury hotels that make them easy choices for your reception, honeymoon, and the photo shoots on or around your wedding day.
Sharm El-Sheikh
Sometimes I see a glowing bride and groom being photographed on cliffs near my home in Sharm el Sheikh, her dress billowing in the breeze and both of them silhouetted against a golden sunset. The scenery here just minutes from the hustle of the city is otherworldly; with a choice of the multiple blues of sky and water, or the ever changing earthen colors of the Sinai mountains. Many of Sharm hotels have beach views out to majestic Tiran Island, or to a horizon that is a blank canvas one moment, and then studded with white cruise boats the next. Favorite photo spots for me include the hotel beaches of the Rixos and Reef Oasis Beach Resort, you can check some here: http://sharmelsheikh.

Sahl Hasheesh
Sahl Hasheesh is another top hotspot for honeymooners in Egypt. It offers more breathtaking possibilities, such as the Baron Palace Resort, which looks out across 600metres of private sandy beach and has a backdrop of miles of desert and mountains. The coast near Marsa Matruh is worth exploring beyond than its most popular beaches, and gives you the best of Mediterranean views without heading for the Greek Isles. The Beau Rivage makes a good base for searching out the best photo locations; it sits on a desert elevation along a bay that is protected from the high surge by a breathtaking seawall rock formation.
The Coloured Canyon In Egypt you can also find some mysterious locations such as the Coloured Canyon, one of the most magnificent rock formations in the world and easily reached from Nuweiba, Dahab and Sharm el Sheikh.
Wherever you choose to have your photographs taken, think about how you will feel when you look back on them years from now. There is not much point in looking your best on the big day, if your backdrop looks dull and clichĂŠd! Magnificent

With fairy godmother Magnificent
Step into the
Fairytale By Amy Fariid
World! It’s wedding season! Every bride-to-be is going out consulting with everyone to make sure her oncein-a-lifetime ceremony is as distinguished as the strong bond between her and her significant other. This issue of Magnificent walks you through the major Must Have’s, Must See’s and Must Be’s to make your night flawless, fantastic and unforgettable. So what’s a better way to tie the knot than in a way that values true love, and celebrates it with the utmost extravagance and the perfect blend of style and beauty?
Yeah
you guessed it right! It’s Cinderella wedding style; the cutting edge trend set by celebrities and members of royalty throughout the years. But you need to take care! There’s a fine line between the grandeur of the fairytale themed weddings and the clichés that make it seem just like any other wedding.
Fortunately, you get what Cinderella had and others didn’t! No. It’s not the famed glass shoes! It’s the dedicated Fairy Godmother who, in my opinion, was up to speed on the latest of fashion and the hottest of trends. Or else Cinderella wouldn’t have grabbed the Prince’s attention and won his infatuation. And, in your fairytale, when the clock strikes midnight and a new day dawns on your wedding ceremony, you won’t lose your magic and turn into a pumpkin; you will keep dazzling throughout your big day! In your story, Magnificent is the best Godmother in business; all filled in on the glamour of top Celebrity and A-listers that will render your guests speechless in awe of your wedding. We’ll walk you through everything there could be from the cake and the setting, to the coach taking you to tie the knot with your prince charming in the most romantic of ways. 28

The
Setting
NO Palace? No problem! Social media icon Sean Parker and singer/song writer Alexandra Lenas said their “I Do’s” in an enchanted forest where you could smell magic in the air! The wedding seemed to be brought from the pages of a fairy tale; the couple trading vows amid towering Redwoods and having a Disney-inspired song as their first! And let’s not forget the display of lights that incredibly augmented the romantic setting.
The Cake Talking about fairytale wedding cakes, guess which Step Up star had the best themed cake there could be? Channing Tatum tied the knot with a bang when he became off the market, courtesy of Jenna Dewan, and celebrated with a majestic cake topped with an incredible cake topper. Customize by adding wings to the traditional one! So you know, it can be done!
Back in time, Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip’s 68-year-old wedding cake
was nine feet high in four tiers, crafted to look like a castle befitting a princess. The cake was cut by the prince sword, which was a wedding gift from the king.
And here’s Disney taking the magic to a new level as it unveiled new creation of tiered wedding cakes with Disney animated characters projected onto the surface.

The Princess Gown Bridal gowns have certainly changed over the decades, but every girl’s dream to look like a princess on her big day never changed. Fairytale wedding dresses (inspired by Cinderella, Jasmine, Elsa, Sleeping Beauty and Snow White) give brides the chance to show their inner Disney royalty and fulfill their dreams. We again come with celebrities who opted for luxury & elegance, and looked princessy on their big day. Who can forget Celine Dion walking down the aisle in a fancy gown with long sleeves and 20-foot train? Celine topped it off with seven-pound Swarovski crystal tiara that got the look to be real definition of a diva princess on her special day. We have seen her fairytale loving side in Ella Enchanted. But it turned out to be an off-screen passion as well, as Anne Hathaway found herself “Somebody To Love” (the very lucky man Adam Shulman) in a lovely Valentino dress and her signature pixie cut. With just a hint of pink at the hemline, the dress is both modern and classic at the same time. And the gorgeous lace headband and veil were the perfect blend of simplicity and beauty.
What a princess!
There’s also our sweetheart , modern Cinderella Hilary Duff who looked every inch the princess with a luscious mermaid silk tulle gown that accentuated her hourglass figure perfectly. Chapeau for the one-andonly Vera Wang for the spectacular design.

The Hottest
Wedding Trends It’s time to stylishly tie the knot.
By Sally Mahmoud
It’s time to tie the knot. Brand new trends are in vogue and more ideas are less fashionable at nuptials. For this year, “Vintage” and “Personalized” weddings are two of the most popular trends. So whether you want to keep it classic or go unconventional, we have for you the hottest wedding trends to make sure you don’t miss any on your big day!
Here are the hottest wedding trends for the year! Wedding
Color Trends
New color trends are on the rise in 2016 weddings. Wedding color palette is the best with a combination of bright shades to create fresh and cheery visual impact for the event. Your wedding colors reflect your personality, so set your style, and mix and match your palette. Color palettes set the “tone” for your wedding and have a great impact on guests (whether positively or negatively), so let your wedding colors speak to your style. And make sure to harmonize it with the wedding theme and décor.
Check out some of the most trending color palettes: COLOR SCHEMES OF BLUE WEDDING PALETTES

Colored,
personalized and floral wedding cakes are hitting this year.
Artful
designed cakes in different shapes are on demand. Gold cakes with golden painted sequins. Colored cakes with ombrĂŠ effect. All are getting popular for the attractive stylish designs.
Floral
wedding cakes found their way as fashionable trend too. Bright, bold and organic floral arrangements guarantee that the trend will continue as big for long time.
Non-Traditional Bridal Gowns
When it comes to wedding gowns, this year has revealed nontraditional gorgeous trends. Ball gowns with tulle skirts are giving the bride the chance to feel like a princess with no need for an excessively heavy dress.
In terms of bridal accessories, flower crowns are here to stay and fit either a rustic or a boho wedding. Veils also return in full force making serious comeback and are an option for any bride, regardless of the style or dress chosen for the big day. Big earrings and necklaces, ear cuffs and lace gloves for brides are making a statement this year.
Nicole Spose
Georges Hobeika
Rosa Clara
Other trends in wedding dresses that are worth considering for 2016 are dresses with lace sleeves, dresses with small capes for the shoulders, crop tops with organza ball gown skirts, and bridal jumpsuits. Dresses in shades of blue, gray, and even green (mint) made their way onto the runways; and how excited we are about that!
Mismatched
BRIDESMAID DRESSES
The mixed-and-matched bridesmaid look presents a new challenge in wedding parties. Some brides are going for the non-traditional and allowing maids to wear dresses with different styles, fabrics and colors. This is a sure way to be more interesting and fun. The trend highlights each individual woman’s style but if it’s not done right, it would not gain the required attention. The key factor is that bridesmaid choices differ in two features as a maximum.

Getting jealous and seeking more of wedding fashion attention, grooms decided to stand out on the big day and challenge the norm too. Speaking of style, Gucci unveiled inspiring menswear collection with major trends for grooms. The neutral light brown/beige shade is the coolest color for spring, summer or autumn weddings, especially for outdoors. Mix and match is another key for groom trend this season. Mismatched suits among groom and his groomsmen is a way to break the habit and introduce personality to the big day.
TREND ALERT!

Hers His! By Hagar Mohamed
Wedding planning! Those two simple words can translate into million tiny tasks! Planning a wedding is not an easy ride, you know, especially if you are as detail-oriented as myself! Following up on too many tasks that need to be done perfectly on time is truly hectic, and requires capturing the know-how of too many things! Worry no more! We are here to assist you with a simple checklist that will help you stay focused on the basics you need to get done before your one magical night! And guess what?! We have a checklist for THE GROOM as well! Come on, weddings shouldn’t be all about THE BRIDE! ;)
Hers and His Wedding Planning Tips: Those are tips that are applicable for both the bride and the groom.
Budget
Create a detailed budget checklist. You really don’t want to get off budget when it comes to planning your wedding. Every little detail costs something, and many small items do cost a lot. Create a strict budget that you can’t deviate from. Fit your selections into it. Remember that you can always compromise when it comes to little details to get a bigger detail done perfectly.
Wedding
Planning Milestones Think of it as a project, and of your wedding date as the project closure date! Work backwards on every phase of your project/ wedding planning. Ask yourself, how many days would this stage/step take? Keep working backwards until you reach the date in which you should start the action! Commit to this start date because it’ll help you take your time on every step, all the way to the wedding day. Be aware that delays will get you to cut off the days assigned for other stages of the project planning!
42
Magnificent
Venue,
Date & Time Consider all factors that could contribute to a smoother wedding planning; such as location, date and time. Pick a location that is accessible to you. You may need to visit your wedding spot many times before the big day, so don’t go too distant. Don’t rush into a very soon date, pick a date that will give you enough time and helps you stay relaxed. Select the wedding start time that you know will give you chance to get a good night sleep; to wake up refreshed! For her, hairdressing and makeup do take time, so give yourself enough to get the look you wish for!
Honeymoon Now that is something to really look forward to! Search for enough information on different destinations. Check the weather forecast during your honeymoon dates. Find out about the activities that are available in those destinations, and pick the type of trip that would bring both of you fun and relaxation. Do your airline booking as early as possible as it’s a money saver. Last minute bookings are always too expensive!
Photography Your wedding photos are the most precious thing that will preserve all beautiful moments and help you re-live them. I personally find photos much more charming and emotional than videos! Browse and find contacts for different photographers, ask about packages, check their websites and Facebook pages to get to know their photography styles. Then pick the one that you love the most. Simply follow your heart on this one!
Guest List
That is a challenging one, for sure. You both want to invite all your friends to make the night fun. But your parents want to invite the relatives to show off your beautiful night! The answer: try to compromise; and make sure both your and your parents’ lists are filtered. Invite enough family members, the close ones who will be joyfully enjoying your big night. And invite close friends who are going to be the ones adding that “Let’s Party” feeling to the day!
Song List
I assure you, you wouldn’t want to get those weird feelings during your wedding when you hear the DJ’s cheesy song selections! Put your touch. Everyone have their own unique taste in music. So make sure your wedding song list does reflect your personality, and pick the tracks that will put you on the right mood!
it’s time to focus on the
Cinderella! HER checklist
The Dress
The wedding dress is the most important thing when it comes to your bridal look, so we’re gonna give it enough space in this article! :D You spend a lot of time consumed by the thought of finding that ONE dress that you’ve been dreaming off. Well, many ladies fall into the common mistake of selecting a dress that looks NICE rather than a dress that looks nice “ON THEM”! And this is why you need to consider all these factors before you make your choice:
Know your figure to choose a Silhouette
Knowing your figure is the key. It doesn’t matter if you are thin, petite, pear-shaped or full figured. Every single body shape has a variety of silhouettes that fit it. Once you know your figure; you will be able to decide whether you need an Empire, Mermaid, A-Line, Ball Gown or a Trumpet silhouette.
Pick a Neckline
Think about what kind of neckline makes you look best. You have countless varieties to pick from: Sweetheart, V-Neck, Asymmetric, Off-Shoulder, Queen Anne, Halter, Halter Strap, Illusion, Square…, etc.
The Fabric
Get familiar with the fabrics to know the difference and to know your very own preference. Do you prefer the look of Oragnza, Taffeta, Chiffoun, Lace or Satin?! My advice would be: go for the fabric that you think is beautiful, and the fabric that feels comfortable on your skin.
Get the right Fit
A loose wedding dress looks cheap. A super tight wedding dress looks trashy. So make sure to get the right fitting dress for a classy look. Magnificent

Joie De Vivre
Veil
Veils are all about style. They add that extra classy touch to the bridal look. Decide what is the best veil style for your dress and for your dream look. Is it a short Flyaway veil, an Elbow length veil, Fingertip, Sweep, Chapel or a long Cathedral style veil! Many many options, just go for what suits you best and what you love the most!
Hair & Make Up Shoes
Do your survey, decide on a hair & makeup budget, and check different artists within that budget. Do not go for a big name that doesn’t fit your style just because everyone is recommending it. See which ones provide the style you love the most. And just trust your own opinion because no one knows what you will love the most except for you.
Take your time with this one, because it doesn’t require multiple fittings like, for example, the dress! You definitely have enough time to browse and look at different styles and different places. One tip you need to really consider is that the wedding shoes aren’t only about elegance; they must be really comfortable, for you to dance the night away in ease! The dress does hide most of your shoes anyway, so do not worry about the heels as much as you worry about the comfort! If you are a tall bride with a short groom then you are definitely lucky enough to go with a beautiful flat ballerina!
SPA
Go to a SPA a couple of days before your wedding. This is simply a must-do! It will help you relax and you will feel much better after a stress-releasing massage.
Flower bouquet
Know your favorite flowers. Most importantly, know your favorite flowers for a bridal bouquet! It’s a simple detail that adds a lot of beauty to your bridal look!
Wedding decorations
Too many details on this one! You’d need to pick table and seat covers, center pieces, and Kousha (bride and groom seating)! My advice is do it in one-go and never look back!
it’s time to focus on the
Prince Charming! 44
Magnificent
His checklist
Suit
Your suit will definitely make a lot of difference in your wedding-day look. Try to go on a suit-fitting spree in different stores to find the cut that suits you the most. If you can’t find the perfect fit, you can always go for a custom-made one! Know your options, all black tuxedos or all white ones! Black pants and a white blazer is also an option. Do your research and go for the one option that you feel most confident in.
SPA
Yes, men do go to the SPA as well! Pre-wedding pampering
is not exclusive to the ladies! Go to the SPA with your groomsmen. Get a massage. Enjoy your time. Relax and get super ready for your one big night!
Speak ur Mind
Shoes
Men buy shoes much faster than women do. This is a fact! But do try to give this one a little more time than usual. You need an elegant, comfy pair that will compliment your super elegant tux! An important tip: make sure to wear your wedding shoes couple of times before the big night. Wearing a pair of new shoes for the first time could be a bit painful. You need to soften them up to be able to rock the night!
The Look The haircut & the beard style are not as basic as they used to be. There are multiple styles now that you can go with. Pick your favorite and get your barber to do it for you!
This is basically it! See?! It’s not as tough as you thought! to all the upcoming brides and grooms, may all your wedding dreams come true!
Chatting with
A GLOWING NAME IN
PHOTOGRAPHY
Interview with
Ahmed Rajeeb F
By Noha El Masry
or him, photography is a passion; and when it comes to creativity, only sky is the limit! It’s Ahmed Rajeep; the ambitious young photographer who believed in his dream till it became a reality. Feeling his positive vibes and true enthusiasm, we chatted with the talented photographer who started from scratch, taking it step by step till he became a glowing name in photography.
We would love to hear about your first photo session?
It was back in 2009. I was shooting an engagement party of a friend. It was outdoors with beautiful greenery, which was very stimulating for me. I was using a Sony camera, nothing fancy or professional, but the results were astonishing. Everybody was impressed and complimented my photo shoot, so I thought why not take my passion to another level!
Do you recall some funny or embarrassing moments? Your friends supported you, what about your family and parents?
Well, I am originally a computer engineer, and I had to make a major career change when I decided to focus on photography. My parents were totally against it in the beginning, but I believed in my dream and worked hard to become a successful and creative photographer; to do what I really love. And now I can’t see myself doing anything else. And my parents are giving me all possible support, as they became certain about my talent in this field.
How do you handle a nervous bride or groom?
Actually this gets better with experience. I usually sit with the couple and discuss their hobbies, preferences and favorite themes. Before session, we talk about different topics to ease tension. And in the actual session, I ask them to forget about their wedding day and focus more on their relationship and joy. When they think of the day as an ordinary day and be just themselves, they totally forget about any tension or nervousness! 46
Magnificent
I remember that time when the wedding was on the pool, at night. I was shooting the bride, and suddenly heard a strong smash into the water. We didn’t pay much attention to it, being focused on the shoot and everything. Seconds later we heard someone screaming! To our surprise, it was the groom almost drowning in the pool! Back then it was really serious and shocking, but now we all laugh about it. It is definitely an interesting story for their future kids!
In your opinion, what makes a photo session perfect? Well, I have to say LOVE! The chemistry between the bride and groom is the highlight of the photo session. The positive vibes always show in the photos.
Black & white photos give wedding pictures a timeless appeal, are they still trending?
Of course! I’m personally a fan of black & white shoots, and I always include them in my photo sessions. My clients love it! I believe black & white feature adds elegance and stylishness to any photo.
Do you give your opinion regarding the theme and style of photo session or is it the bride and groom’s choice?
Thank God clients who come to my office always trust me and my taste. They tell me that they know they are in good hands, and it’s true. I do my best to provide an excellent photo session. I make sure to understand the couple, know their preferences and what they like and dislike to come with the best style for them. And I want to seize the chance to thank all my clients who have become my friends as well.
Coping with the issue’s theme, may you give us your thoughts for a perfect Cinderella themed photo session? That’s a very interesting and wealthy theme. I would prefer the shoot to be outdoors in the morning surrounded by lots of greenery. It can be done in a palace or an elegant historical place. I also have in mind specific recommendations for makeup and hair. It has to be princess-like elegant look to complete the magical Cinderella flair.
How long before the big day should couples contact the photographer? I would say three to four months in advance. Just to make sure photographer is available on the day. And to have enough time to decide on what they are going to do.
Do you find some faces photogenic and others not? And how do you deal with that?
Ahmed, we talked about your work, now let’s know more about you… Coffee or Tea? Coffee Morning or a Night Person? Night. Early Bird or Night Owl? Night owl. Winter or Summer? Definitely winter. Sea or Land? Sea. Indoors or Outdoors? Outdoors. I love going out! Sweet or Sour? Sweeeeet for sure, I love desserts. Favorite Hobbies? Playing golf, basketball, car racing,
It’s true. Some faces appear more beautiful in real life. But this is not a problem because if you study the face well and shoot from specific angles, you can get perfect shoots. Lighting is also a key here. Adjusting lighting can miraculously hide flaws. Also I always advice my clients to be spontaneous and natural in the session, as it makes a big difference.
PlayStation.
How important is Photoshop? How often do you rely on it to adjust photos?
Paul Walker, Nickolas Cage and Angelina Jolie.
It is important but not more than 10%. I never use it to make drastic changes. I work hard on each photo to make sure it comes out perfect and natural.
Favorite Movies? Sweet November, Skyfall, Spiderman, and Batman movies
Favorite Actor & Actress? Tom Cruise, Jason Statham,

Trendy is ME!
Every bride is unique and different from the other, and so are the wedding dresses. DON’T get caught in the trendy wedding gowns, but identify your personal style and choose what fits you to enhance your body shape. One easy way to choose your perfect wedding dress is to choose a dress that highlights the best and most loved parts of your body and hides the less-favourable ones. To start, determine your body shape and accordingly what best defines it.
Fashion designers advise to pay more attention to the top of your dress, from the waist up, as it is the most noticed by guests and the part that appears in all wedding photos. Trendy is tricky! Fashion changes from season to season. Find your “timeless gown” that mixes both styles -modern and traditional, fits your figure, and makes you look glamorous. If you find such timeless gown, it will never go out of style.

On such an important Day, adding your personal touch to your wedding is like adding a unique taste that lasts forever. Consider the following tips for an exceptional touch on your wedding ceremony:
Monograms: They are elegant and timeless. Add bride and groom initials to your wedding dress train, veil or bouquet. Or use a monogram cake topper. It is a special way to celebrate the two of you. Tradition: On your special Day, no better way to honour your family than having a piece of your mother’s or grandmother’s wedding dress or veil embedded into your wedding gown such as a vintage lace or buttons.
Embroidery: Embroidered floral dresses are trendy this year. Add an embroidered floral belt to accentuate your waist in ivory or a contrasting colour. Wear a crown of fresh flowers or flower hair accessories. Or attach flowers to your gloves, dress or shoes. Bouquets: DON’T forget that the Bouquet makes your style shine. Ask for your florist’s advice to pick up the bouquet that speaks to your personality. Make it personal and choose flowers that have special meanings to you.

What are the bridal trends for 2016? The bridal trends for 2016 are princesses cut, long tails, classy handmade, lace and of course original fabrics. As for the trendy colors; I personally prefer white, pure white, off white for the bride, and pastels for the bridesmaids.
What’s the fashion item that makes the look stand out? In my opinion; the fashion item is the total look: cut, fabric, idea, character and occasion.
Who are your favorite designers?
My favorites are Y.S.L, Dior, Chanel and Stephan Rolland.
Any Egyptian designers you like their work? Many of them are really creative.
What’s your advice for young designers who can’t make it to Fashion Weeks?
My advice for them is to be strong and innovative, to bring unique ideas and create new lines, and seek participation in international fashion weeks.
What about your future plans?
I have lots of plans: new projects, more fashion shows, new designs for private jets, prêt-à-porter all over the world, and let’s keep the rest a surprise.
How can people get their hands on your designs? I have a new showroom in Cairo. I also have outlets in Paris, New York, London, Moscow, Dubai, Doha, China, USA, and of course Lebanon.

THE RISING STAR OF HAUTE COUTURE
NABIL HAYARI Special Interview with
Hayari Paris’ W
Creator
By Ghada Sakr
ith a thriving haute couture label and magical red carpet creations, Nabil Hayari is now a well-recognized star in the skies of fashion. It was my pleasure meeting up with the ‘in-vague Parisian designer’ during his first visit to Egypt. Here is what the very decent, downto-earth gentleman had to say to our precious fashionistas & brides-to-be!
First of all, welcome to Egypt Hayari! Tell us about yourself and how you started your career in Fashion! I used to draw dresses when I was very little. My family, seeing that I draw and create easily on a paper, encouraged me to follow my interest, and study fashion. So I went to Paris, and entered the prestigious fashion school ‘La Chambre Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne’. After graduating, I worked with luxury haute couture house in Paris. Then in 2009, I decided with my friend ‘Hugues Alard’ to create our own label, so we created Hayari Paris to make a name for my creations.
Do you have someone in the family who’s in the fashion field?
No, but my mother is Parisian! She likes Dior and Chanel. So I was raised in this culture; Haute Couture Culture. As a child, I used to go to her closet to see and feel her dresses. Also my grandma was working with embroidery. She always used to talk to me about elegance, fashion, and stylish women. I grew up with such ideas and I think that helped me develop a good fashion sense.
How do you find your cooperation with celebrities?
You know; when it comes to celebrities, it’s more about word of mouth. And I’m thrilled to have my gowns worn by many celebrities on red carpets of Cannes and New York, plus the Oscars and the Golden Globe Awards in L.A.
Any certain names you prefer working with? I like working with Elissa Kilova, she is a Russian super model. I also like working with Penelope Cruz, Kim Kardashian, Beyonce, Rihanna, and many others. 54
Magnificent
Our readers will be interested to know that Kim Kardashian is wearing your designs; she has become sort of a fashion icon!
Yea (he chuckled!) There is a bit of a story with Kim Kardashian. I met her in Los Angelos. And you know Kim is Kim. She is special and glamorous but she’s very kind.
What about Arab celebrities?
I know the Lebanese singer; Haifa Wehbe. She is a friend of mine but we haven’t worked together yet, hopefully soon! And I like here in Egypt; Yousra and Laila Elwy. They are very elegant. I saw them in Paris in Haute Couture shows, and I hope I can cooperate with them some day.
What’s the most embarrassing thing that happened during your career in fashion?
It’s about how to create gowns for special customers; because there’s some code to respect and follow in this regard. The right way of communication is different from culture to culture. I’m French, and we are masters of etiquette; so I have never guessed that would be something to worry about in my work, but it was!
Tell us about your collection for 2016, what is it about?
Some people are minimalists; they don’t follow fashion and like to keep it simple! How do you find that?
Do you believe people should always follow fashion trends?
Who are your favorite designers?
Légèreté! Légèr is something that’s very soft and elegant. The collection is all about delicate fabrics; lots of chiffon and crêpe. It’s couture and feminine.
Not always! It’s not good to be a fashion addict. One can follow trends in respect of colors and theme, but not every fashion trend will fit every person.
I respect their choice. They create fashion too; because they inspire designers to create something very sheer and simple. I think they are in fashion as well. I like Alexander McQeen, Yves Saint Laurent, Christian Dior in his early designs, and Coco Chanel.
This issue of Magnificent is about Cinderella, so is Cinderella gown still in vogue?
Of course! Most brides start their journey to finding the dress by asking me if I have a Cinderella gown! They want to look like Cinderella on their big day. It’s very feminine, royal, and adds feelings of exceptionality. I don’t think it’ll fade out as a style.
depends on the theme of the ceremony. If it is on beach, no need for lots of accessories. If it’s in a castle, then a Cinderella gown and tiara are necessary for a royal look. The theme and dress should guide the bridal look. But it’s always simplicity that adds elegance.
Do you have certain gowns in your collection that screams Cinderella?
Any Egyptian designers you like their work?
What are the bridal trends for 2016?
What’s your advice for young designers who are creative but can’t make it to Fashion Weeks?
In fact, I have many! When I design big ball gowns with volume, it always makes me feel the essence of Cinderella. I actually don’t know why! The most fashionable trend in my collection is silk drawings on lace sleeves. It’s quite unique! However, I advise all brides to follow their instincts, and fulfill their dream of a wedding dress more than following fashion trends.
What about the trendy bridal colors?
In respect of colors, I am into white, ivory and crème for bridal gowns. I know it’s becoming popular to have wedding dresses in colors other than white, but I think designers have created such frocks only to satisfy different cultures. I had designed wedding dresses in non-traditional colors before, upon request, but I like to keep it traditional in my defile.
Yes. I was invited to the Oriental Fashion Show in Paris, and I met Hany El Behairy. I was so pleased with his designs. I wonder why he doesn’t have his Haute Couture Show in Paris as the Lebanese designers Elie Saab and Zuhair Murad.
Fashion career isn’t easy, even in France! I think if they have a dream, they have to go for it anywhere. It’s all about having the drive, and then success will find its way to them. Study too is a must. For me, studying at a prestigious fashion school helped me with good connections, which reinforced me to move forward in this career.
What about your future plans?
It’s the nice cut of the dress. The texture, the fabric, and the design! Besides accessories of course, but not much. Less is always more!
For now I have my Haute Couture shows in Paris, New York and Moscow. I have my boutique in Paris, and my line of perfume is available all over the world. My next step is to open boutiques in New York, Los Anglos and London. Hopefully, one day I’ll have my boutique here in Cairo as well.
What are your top tips for choosing bridal accessories?
How can people get their hands on your designs?
In your opinion, what makes the look stand out?
If the dress is charged with embroidery and pearls, the bride doesn’t need to add many accessories; just the basics. It also

ith a very delicate taste, Shaymaa Maher brings a dreamy flair to the bridal fashion scene. Her collection for the year is so Cinderella in every bit of it. That’s why we decided (with help of ExpertMe, the online fashion facility) to chat with the designer of ‘Shay’s Couture’ to get more of her insight on a wonderful bridal look for our modern Cinderellas.
How can a bride look like a Cinderella on her big day?
Dreamy unconventional fabrics and richness of beautiful soft tulle layers could play a big role in that. And of course the right choice of the color that suits her skin tone and personality.
Cinderella princess dress continues to inspire the bridal fashion as one of the most elegant wedding gowns, what’s trending on princess wedding dress style?
Which bridal accessories can make or break Cinderella bridal look?
A soft movement of veil or a simple piece of tiara is so enough to complete the Cinderella appearance. Too many sparkled accessories would break the whole look. Remember, you are a princess and the royal look depends on simplicity.
What is the average time it takes to make one’s dream dress? It depends on the design but we can say 2 to 3 months.
Trendy is tricky, How can a bride know she found her “timeless” bridal gown? Custom wedding dresses usually come with the gown and veil in some unique complementary colors and styles. This depends on several factors such as fashion trends and culture, but the dresses are often designed according to the bride’s curves; in order to enhance her elegance and beauty. The style can be ball 56

Details like extra lace, delicate appliqués and a little sparkle always keep dresses from looking too lingerie-esque. The 3d effect this season can be seen on an ivory landscape of dreamy florals or whimsical butterflies, fluttering on layers of silk tulle. Using an extra layer of tulle, lace or organza always gives the ball gown feeling of richness. gown, empire, A-line, mermaid or column. The designers have a lot to consider when working on such dresses. And the bride should listen to the designer for what suits her to get what we call ‘a timeless gown’.
From your collection, do you have a gown that screams Cinderella?
The whole collection is so dreamy and romantic. It feels like Cinderella is getting out in each dress to complete a new scene in her story.
If you could dress anyone for their wedding, who would that be? Jennifer Lopez
A bride fell in love with unsuitable dress for her! What do you do?
In this case I put the bride in front of a mirror, and guide her on what to emphasize and what to avoid for the dress to fit her body shape perfectly.
What is your favorite wedding trend right now?
The ball gown is my favorite! It’s unique and timeless, and also perfect for so many body shapes. It draws the feelings of totality and delicacy.
What’s your favorite bride of all time?
The wedding dress of Grace Kelly, designed by Helen Rose, is one of the unforgettable dresses in the history of bridal gowns.
What is the most common mistake brides make when dress shopping?
Trying too many dresses! It eventually causes confusion and makes the bride unable to say yes to a dress. Swayed by steep discounts, some brides buy their wedding dresses online; during big sales of their favorite designers. However, the bride should choose her dress very carefully so as not to end up spending a lot of money on something that doesn’t suit her. Shopping so early and demanding the wrong size are also very common mistakes.
In terms of styling, what are your top tips for brides-to-be?
Veil, tiara, accessories and shoes should be matched to the whole theme of the dress. Simple veil made of tulle could be so enough on an extra lace embroidered gown. A bun will be a perfect choice for a backless one. If you have extra pounds on your body, avoid wearing 3d fabrics and draped dresses. Light satin fabrics will be more than perfect for such body shape. Avoid adding too many accessories to your final look. And remember simple is always more.
What wedding dress trends will we see in 2016?
Lace is playing a strong role in 2016. Ball gown dresses are still leading the whole scene. 3d fabrics that contain flowers, butterflies, sparkling stones and sequins are very trendy as well.
Which designers give you inspiration? How would you describe your style as a designer?
Zuhair Murad, Donatella Versace and Krikor Jabotin are top on my list. My style is delicate, dreamy, royal and fairy. The bride would feel herself like a real princess living in a fairytale.
Finally, how can brides get their hands on your designs?

LOOK
YOUR BEST
IN YOUR HAPPILYEVER-AFTER
with Makeup Specialist Mennat El-Agaty On our mission to make you the most gorgeous Cinderella in your special day, we consulted with Mennat El-Agaty, Certified Makeup Artist from Chicago/New York on her top tips for the bride-to-be to look her very best on her happily-ever-after ceremony!
How can a bride look like Cinderella on her big day? On your wedding day, you want to look like yourself, only at your most beautiful! What you need is to start with the basic and the most important of all; the skin. All brides in my opinion should, at least 6 months before the wedding, get into the healthy habits of skin care, such as facial cleansing, moisturizing, periodic exfoliation including lips; you don’t want your wedded kiss to feel like sandpaper. While visiting your local spas for facial treatments can definitely assist in clearing blackheads and dead skin cells, and improve circulation. Make sure to have your last facial treatment 10 days away from the wedding day. You wouldn’t know how your skin would react, especially if you are trying new products. As a makeup artist, I would certainly work on camouflaging imperfections (we all have them) and give the illusion of a perfect skin. However the better the skin is in its natural state, the better the finished look will be on your wedding day. Last but not least; although not everyone agrees that water consumption will improve skin, certainly it won’t hurt to increase your water intake two weeks before the wedding. It will keep your skin well hydrated on your big day. 58

What are your makeup tips for
A CINDERELLA BRIDAL LOOK?
Complexion Think of it as a painting canvas that needs first to be evened out, before applying makeup, for a smooth finish.
TIP
On a clean skin, I would recommend moisturizing the skin first and give the moisturizer a chance to be absorbed before applying any further makeup. You don’t want wetness to interfere with dry shadows or powders.
To Make Makeup Last TIP
Eye Makeup
Be Careful With Foundations
Beach Weddings or a Casual Affair. In general I would recommend going with a subtler look with natural colors. Colors such as nudes and peaches for a sunkissed complexion (Strobing can play a big role here).
Do not skip priming your skin with a primer that is suitable to your skin type. A good primer will work on diminishing fine lines, fill in your pores, protect your skin and with certain formulas it can add to your overall facial luminosity. Make sure that the primer is compatible with your foundation. Let the primer get absorbed for a minute or two, and then start applying foundation.
Foundations are not made to cover all imperfections. Full coverage of foundation makes face look as if wearing a mask. For areas where full coverage is required, I would rather use a concealer; before setting everything with a fixing spray/powder.
TIP
Your complexion should look matt in general, except for the areas you need them to catch the light, such as the top of your cheek bones, your temples, under and on top of the brow bone (nowadays called Strobing).
The location and the theme of your big day should influence on the pallet you choose for your makeup.
Formal Weddings. You can turn it up a notch by going for darker eyeshadow colors or even opt for a mild smoky eye.
TIPS
• Always curl your lashes before mascara. Needless to say that water proof mascara is a no brainer for such an emotional day. • With mascara the more, the merrier! Apply your first coat, let it dry before adding another, and repeat. • Coat your lashes with translucent powder before your mascara, for volume and an elongated lashes effect; thank me later. • Falsies, if applied correctly, can make your eyes pop and become hardly noticeable. • If you are not a fan of strip of false lashes, ask your makeup artist about the option of individual lashes. They come in different lengths and can be applied exactly where needed on the lash line, to give an added glamour to the overall eye look.
59
Lips and Cheeks Like I said earlier; the location, the season, the overall theme and the time of the wedding should dictate how the makeup would be. I always ask such questions on the pre-wedding trial (usually takes place a month before the wedding) to make sure my bride’s makeup blends in the overall theme of the wedding.
Winter Weddings. Mostly are color themed
with red roses or lilies. You can still go for soft red lips and rosy cheeks, given the fact that the tone of red or rose selected is compatible with your skin tone. You see, some red lipsticks look gorgeous on some people but not very good on others. This is because the undertones of both the lipstick and skin are clashing.
TIPs
• Lip liner is your friend; it will keep the lipstick in place. • A good technique to increase lipstick longevity is to blot between coats. Use blotting paper rather than tissues, as tissues tend to absorb the pigment. • I always squeeze in a layer of a lip locking shellac to avoid the transfer of my bride’s lipstick.
Eyebrows Whatever the urges are, never ever harshly box your eyebrows. Your brows should look feathery and lightly colored in, so they leave you looking youthful and fresh-faced, rather than harsh and fake.
TIPS
• Have the brows brushed upwards and outwards before holding them in place with a brow gel. • If I would choose between eyebrows threading and tweezing, I would definitely go with the latter.
What are makeup trends that we’ll see in 2016? Looking at Paris, Milan, London and New York fashion weeks; you will see various trends coming up or being revived from the past. Some of them are wearable; others are only at your own risk.
Vampy lip colors are currently a strong trend for the holiday season, think Oxblood or Crimson color. And guess who is coming back as strongly as ever? The timeless red lipstick! Yes, Red is back with its hues, especially candy apple red. Good time to add it to your arsenal for 2016.
Blue hues found their way to 2016 eye makeup tends, whether on the lids or as eyeliner. A smokey eye with subtle metallic/sparkly eye lids are the trend to go for in evenings.
Summer time will be all about the youthful dewy glow with minimal eye makeup and so little coverage on skin and a dust of a blush; known as the No Makeup Look. 60
Magnificent
In your opinion, what are the makeup trends that never go out of date?
Eyeliners were used from the times of Ancient Egypt and will continue forever. Winged eyeliner or the cat eye is here to stay. It’s very versatile and can be dressed up or down.
Trendy is tricky, how can a bride find the best look for her? This is very important, and my advice is no matter what the current makeup trend screams, don’t listen. You should be able to look at your wedding pictures 20 or 30 years after and find them timelessly beautiful. One should not put a timestamp on when that wedding took place. Stick with a look that’s classic and pretty. This doesn’t mean you drop the bold eyeliner you’ve worn for years and years on your wedding day. Still wear your signature look but with a milder version.
Who’s your favorite bride of all time?
In our makeup classes, we got to learn that Grace Kelly is the one and only timeless looking bride of all time. And although Grace’s wedding look is breathtaking, I would go for Princess Diana. I just grew up loving everything about her.
What is the most common mistake brides make when choosing the look for their special day? • Not doing a pre-wedding trial. It’s important to test the look on yourself, making sure it suits you and makes you blend in the wedding theme. Wear something white during the wedding trial, so you would know if you’d need to give or take away from the makeup. • Forgetting about the groom. You
need to groom the groom in some sense. Have him use a shine control or translucent powder before the wedding (good luck with that). This will ensure that in the pictures, his unwanted shine is not taking the attention, and both of you are looking gorgeous.
• Not taking the time to look for a good photographer. Working with
a good photographer will result in mesmerizing photos that will last forever. As for makeup and photography; a professional makeup artist will make sure to apply HD camera and flash friendly makeup techniques.
If you could be the makeup artist for a celebrity bride to be, who would this be? I would personally choose Oprah Winfrey.
Finally, how can brides reach you?

A DAy With
F
The Khalifa’s By Noha El-Masry
un, interesting, and relaxing are three words that describe the 3 Khalifa sisters who are becoming big in the fashion and wedding arenas for their exceptional and original talents. The moment you step into the Khalifa’s premises, you feel very welcomed. The atmosphere is joyful and lively – in other words, those girls know how to make you feel at home.
First I met Riham Khalifa, who took me to the Makeup Room. How would you deal with a bridezilla?
I usually don’t start makeup sessions right away. I try to break the ice with my clients first to make sure they’re all relaxed.
So Riham, how did it all start?
Well, I have always had a passion for makeup since I was a little girl. I always heard comments from family and friends that I have a good sense of color and a unique taste. I used to study makeup brands and people used to come to me for advice on best brands for their personal use. Gradually I started to turn this hobby into a professional practice. My first fashion show as a makeup artist was with a famous Saudi designer, back in 2011. Thank God my artistic skills were awarded by a great reputation among fashion designers and brides. And I am proud to work with the beautiful singer Latifa as well as the sweetest actress Mai Selim, among so many others.
How long does a makeup session usually take? Well, it usually takes one to two hours depending on the theme. Also some faces can be easier than others when applying makeup. Bridal makeup is also different from runway makeup.
Can you explain the ‘before and after’ transformation, what does happen in the process?
Basically all girls are beautiful in their own way. Makeup is meant to just highlight the most beautiful features in the face and hide away the flaws. So before makeup the girl is natural, and after makeup she is a bit more vibrant. Makeup is essential for any photo session. So for brides, it is critical to have the right makeup on. 62
Magnificent
What do you recommend: a strong obvious makeup or a natural hardly-there?
I personally recommend a natural look. My advice to all brides is not to apply too much foundation, and to make sure it matches their skin color __not lighter or darker. It’s also important not to wear shiny eye shadows, as they reflect on camera flashes and don’t look good in photos.
What are your ideas for a bridal Cinderella look?
It has to be dreamy, elegant and feminine but in a very soft and smooth way. Cinderella is beautiful and delicate, and so should be the makeup. I would not recommend dark colors; and certainly not bold, serious or seductive looks.
What are your bridal tips for a healthy skin?
Actually, I have lots of tips. The magic word is water! Drinking minimum of eight glasses of water a day ensures a glowing skin. Eating healthy, and including enough fruits and veggies on the bride’s diet are vital. Besides, exercising helps brides to relax and relieve stress. I’d strongly recommend it three times a week. A bride should consider adding skin softening powdered-milk to her bath; it makes an obvious difference, and helps to soften and refresh the skin. Never tweeze or wax eyebrows on the wedding day, to avoid puffiness and swelling. And make sure to use a good moisturizer to prepare skin for makeup, and avoid sunblocks and sunscreens that can affect the final look.
After I finished with Riham, I sat with
Nihal Khalifa,
the fashion designer, as she took me to her office… Nihal, what inspires you?
Different cultures! The way they dress and the way they use colors. I am impressed by the far-eastern and Indian cultures. They use bold, vibrant and lively colors which exude positivity.
How do you give a bride the ‘Cinderella Look’?
I had many brides asking me to give them the princess look. I usually recommend big fluffy layered dresses; first because they are rich and elegant, and second because it’s not a style that you can wear every day. It has to be a special dress for an extraordinary princess!
How is dealing with brides different from dealing with other clients?
Usually brides are more stressed out because it is their special day, and they want to appear and feel their best. So I am usually patient with my brides, and try to make it easier for them to fulfill their dreams.
How do you deal with a bride who’s fallen for the wrong dress? I try to discuss new ideas with her that are more suitable for her figure. I show her trendy and stylish designs that can be very appealing to her. I am usually very patient, and give all the time to my clients to get the best results.
What advice would you give to girls who aspire to become successful fashion designers? Never give up on your dreams. This career needs so much patience and experience until you become a professional designer. Believe in yourself, be original and unique, and don’t try to imitate anyone.
,
I chatted with Nouran Khalifa the professional photographer and influencer. What’s your key to de-stress the couple ahead of the bridal session?
Well, I never start shooting right away. Thank God I am very sociable and friendly; so usually after a couple of minutes, my clients and I become friends. And we have fun during the photo session.
What makes you stand out, especially with the many names in the field?
Well there aren’t a lot of girls in the photography field in specific. Girls and ladies always feel more comfortable when they are with a girl photographer.
How would you create a “Cinderella” themed photo session?
Well, I like being creative! I wouldn’t stick to the traditional image of Cinderella. I would definitely come up with something extraordinary; tackling the theme in a funny way, or maybe dramatic! I can shoot anywhere, from a big wide garden to a corner in the basement. But it has to be new and untraditional.
Do you think Photoshop can completely transform the look in photos?
Photoshop is important to an extent. It can help in correcting/ adjusting some technical flaws in photos. But I am definitely against completely altering or changing the whole look. I am always with the natural, simple and realistic photos.
Nouran, what inspires you?
I keep an open eye for all that is around me; colors, nature, cultures; basically I get inspired by everything!
Setting together discussing fashion, wedding and beauty.. Girls, how being sisters in the same field helped in your career? It makes it easier for us to communicate. We tend to complete each other.
Who gave you the most support?
Definitely our parents! They were there for us since the very beginning; completely believing in our talents. They supported us by all means and still are. We can’t thank them enough!
What are your dreams?
We are dreaming of taking our talents to the next level, and going international.

The One for you!
The Stone!
Diamond stones 101
1. The shape Diamond shape is one of the main aspects you will need to consider. There are many different shapes of diamonds: Round, Cushion, Oval, Princess…, etc. The round diamonds are the most popular, with the highest percentage of sales all over the world. Some find it more special to opt for something less commonly selected such as Cushion shape or Princess Cut, or a romantic Heart shaped rock. It really doesn’t matter what shape you go for as long as you pick the one you love the most! 64

2. The 4 Cs After the shape comes the 4 Cs! Those are the four main aspects on which you should decide your stone. Mixing your preferences in those aspects with the element of “Budget” will help you make the perfect selection!

Diamond carat weight is the measurement of how much a diamond is worth. In other words; it is all about the stone size. A bigger stone is always more expensive because bigger diamonds are rare to find, however two stones of the same size could differ a lot in price depending on their cut, color & clarity.
B. Cut
C. Colors
Diamonds have the ability to transmit light which makes them sparkle and glow. The symmetry of the cut and how it’s polished is what makes a diamond stone glow more than another. The GIA (Gemological Institute of America) which was established in 1931 and is the world’s foremost authority on diamonds, colored stones, and pearls has identified the cut grades as: Excellent, very good, good, fair and poor.
The diamond stone quality is also based on its color. You see the absence of color is a sign of a chemically pure and perfectly structured diamond. GIA diamond color grading scale starts from a colorless stone to a light yellow one.
Excellent Very Good

D. Clarity Diamonds are the result of carbon being exposed to excessive heat and pressure deep inside the earth. Such exposure may produce different characteristics on each stone. Those characteristics are known as Inclusions & Blemishes. Those characteristics are measures to define the diamond’s level of clarity. GIA scale of clarity starts with Flawless (FL) which indicates no inclusions and no blemishes visible under 10x magnification to Included (I1, I2 and I3) which means that inclusions are obvious under 10x magnification which may affect transparency and brilliance.

Draw inspiration and bring a little nostalgia into your wedding. Waffles are sweet and fluffy treats that will offer a fresh dessert station for your guests. Keeping a variety of garnishes at hand is the secret to impress your guests. Opt for cream, whipped cream, fruit, toasted nuts, or Nutella.
Nothing spells out love better than yummy cookies. They can be presented in different ways. Cookie towers are perfect for more casual weddings. Tell us more about Bordure Events.

Why should every couple hire a wedding planner for their big day?
Coping with the magazine issue, how can you plan Cinderella themed wedding?
Themed weddings are becoming more popular, more elaborate and more unique than ever! Whether the couple is inspired by a magazine article, favorite color or popular story such as “The Cinderella Story”; there are lots of fun and exciting ways to incorporate themes into the celebration. Having a fairytale wedding doesn’t mean compromising on style. A fairytale Wedding can be so much more chic, intimate and romantic than you might expect. It’s not about climbing on board of a rollercoaster in your tux, wearing a costume wedding dress, or sharing the day with oversized cartoon characters; it’s about having a sophisticated and modern wedding day with just a little pinch of magic!
What are the color schemes that can feature Cinderella Wedding?
The Cinderella themed wedding must be delicately handled; the color schemes of varying shades of light blue, green, ivory and blush are soft details that enhance the theme all the more, not to mention lots of glass and sparkle.
Could you share with us fairytale wedding venues in Egypt? 72

Couples should consider hiring a planner to save themselves unimaginable amounts of time and unnecessary loads of stress and uncertainty, and to ensure getting the most out of their budget by having guidance on spending effectively.
If you’re looking for an indoor venue, The Nile Ritz Carlton, The Cairo Marriot &The Four Seasons should definitely be on the top of each couple’s list. For outdoor venues, go with Mena House (garden) or La Maison Bleue in El Gouna.
What’s the most popular first-dance song at weddings?
First dance is the centerpiece of the reception, with the newlyweds dancing for the first time with all eyes on them. I’d recommend “Thinking Out Loud” by Ed Sheeran, “How Long Will I Love You” by Ellie Goulding, and “Sparks” by Coldplay.
What was the most unique wedding you ever planned?
I had the pleasure to plan my best friend’s wedding and it was unique in every way. It was very romantic yet laid-back, which allowed guests to feel comfortable and relaxed. It all started with a phone call from the bride asking for our support and assistance on her big day. First thing she requested was “No Flowers Please”! It was such a funny yet
challenging demand. It took us more thinking outside the box to come up with something new and extravagant.
What questions should every couple ask their wedding planners?
All wedding planners are not created equal, and you want to be certain that you have found a professional who is up to the task, and has the experience needed to plan the perfect wedding. So, before you sign a contract with a professional wedding planner, remember to ask these important questions: 1. Are you available on my wedding date? 2. What services do you offer? 3. What’s the cost of the average wedding you plan? 4. Have you planned any other wedding at our site?
What’s your key to deal with a bridezilla?
Take nothing personally. Dealing with anyone thinking their life and problems are the center of the universe is a challenge. For wedding planners dealing with a difficult bride, the best advice is to take nothing personally and remain rational. The first step is to understand where the bridezilla is coming from, what’s causing the behavior and where are the reasons for stress. Patiently listen to any concerns that are making her sad or angry and offer the appropriate advice and suggestions. Never join her in an emotional rant or anger. Remind her of proper etiquette and speak on the bride’s behalf, if she’s incapable of doing so.
Describe the most challenging wedding you planned and how you handled the problems that came up.
Every wedding we get to plan has its own challenges.
Planning a wedding isn’t like planning a conference or a trade show. Although you’ve got to take many of the same details into account, weddings tend to be extremely emotional affairs for everyone involved. Therefore planning a wedding comes with its own unique set of roadblocks. However, we always find ways to handle any problems that come up whether with budget, unrealistic expectations or bad vendors.
In case wedding is outdoors, what’s the best backup plan for bad weather?
Every couple imagines the weather on their wedding day will be perfect; sunny and shiny. But what if it isn’t? It’s better to be prepared for whatever Mother Nature throws your way. Our savvy tips for handling a wedding beneath stormy skies are to secure a tent, research destination before committing, and ensure guests are comfortable.
What’s the most common wedding planning mistake that couples should avoid?
A lack of personality! The number one biggest mistake I see is a wedding devoid of the couple’s own personalities. Now, I’m not saying everyone has to have a theme wedding, but this is the most important day of your life – it should reflect your uniqueness. Magnificent

L’elite Events We asked Shadden El Banna (Co-founder at L’elite Events) for advice on how to bring magic to the marriage ceremony, and here’s what she had say!
Tell us more about L’elite Events.
We launched L’elite Events around 3 years ago. We offer a full decoration service for the entire wedding ceremony. We offer a wide range of packages that suit every taste and budget. We are in contact with the best local vendors to provide our couples with high quality services. And we are dedicated to ensure the comfort of our brides and grooms, for them to fully enjoy their special day!
Why should every couple hire a wedding planner for their big day?
Speaking of fairytale-inspired weddings, what are your ideas to plan a Cinderella themed wedding?
To start planning for a majestic wedding, one needs to think about where to hold the fairytale ceremony. Most venues can be transformed into a magical wonderland; be it a private estate, garden or even an indoor venue. Also it’s good to invest in some clever ideas for fairytale-themed “Save the Date” invitations, bridesmaid’s dresses, decorations, flowers and colors. Those are sure to add an inspiring touch to the theme, if well-planned. Lavish gowns, gold table decor, grandiose floral arrangements, chandeliers, and of course a prince charming and you’ve got yourself a fairytale wedding! Also, off the top of my head, I would go for confetti cones made from the pages of fairytale books and hand them to the bridesmaids.
What are the color schemes that can feature Cinderella Wedding?
There is no specific color palette for a Cinderella-themed wedding. However, it is known that gold and silver always add that royal touch to any venue. I would definitely go for glass chandeliers and candle sticks with a touch of gold/silver and a hint of white and tiffany blue or blush pink. 74

We know how stressful it is, especially for the bride-to-be, to organize everything for the wedding. Here comes our mission! We are here to listen carefully to the couple’s wishes, consult them and assist in every step until the big day. It’s what we promise our clients through our company slogan; “You Wish. We Greet”.
What are the top wedding themes for the year?
This year has been very big on rustic-themed events, especially outdoors. Our main element of the year was the Mason jar. Top requests were for themes like: Great Gatsby, vintage, modern, rustic chic and pastel colored décor.
What’s the trending first-dance song?
(She laughs) I don’t know! Usually there is no latest trend in the first dance song. It varies from couple to other. Some couples like old songs for artists like Olivia Newton-John, while others prefer a little bit newer songs, like Shania Twain’s “From This Moment”. One of my personal favorites is “Close Your Eyes” by Michael Bublé.
What’s your etiquette advice for the wedding guests?
The guiding principle is never to outshine the bride. Everyone knows the golden rule: don’t wear white! However when a wedding takes place in summer, guests may opt for lineup of breezy ivory dresses as potential options. Regarding plus-ones, under no circumstance should a guest ask for clarification; it’s either written or not!
Describe the most challenging wedding you planned and how you handled the problems that came up.
You know, one thing that really makes the job easier is to always have a BACKUP plan for everything. Of course, starting up, we learned the hard way, but actually we never had a huge issue in planning a wedding. We take our time to organize the event, and we have backup plans and alternatives, in case anything went wrong. That’s one of the things that we take pride in.
In case wedding is outdoors, what’s the best backup plan for bad weather?
If the ceremony is set to take place on a day where weather could be tricky, include “in-case of…” notes for your invitees. It’s ideal to have a tent on standby. Stock up on umbrellas, ponchos and blankets for guests, in case a surprise shower shows up unannounced.
What’s the most common wedding planning mistake that couples should avoid? Never make plans before setting a budget! Picking a dress or wedding venue prior to establishing financial parameters is a lot like shopping without glancing at price tags and then strolling up to check out with your fingers crossed. One of the issues we struggled with when we first started was wanting to do the extraordinary and thinking that people would pay, as the bride would always want the best for her wedding. But truth is we’re always tied with a budget. Everybody has a spending limit to stick to. So it is of crucial importance to set a budget for the entire wedding before actually making plans.
What tips or advice can you give to couples who are in the midst of planning?
Do not get caught up in achieving “perfection”. Perfectionism is actually the one thing that may stop you from enjoying your big day. We meet brides who are extremely caught up on miniature details that they don’t even notice when the wedding begins. The big things that really matter are setup, food and dress or tuxedo. Other things are just trivial. One more advice: prioritize your tasks and keep a checklist; it will make all the difference in the world. Finally, accept that you will never please everyone and that’s okay!

Cat-Cow Pose
Marjaryasana
Cat-cow is a great beginner yoga pose that brings flexibility and strength to your spine and prepares the body for other activities. It is a gentle flow between two poses, cow and cat, that improves postural balance throughout the body, as it brings the spine into correct alignment. This pose helps prevent back pain when practiced regularly.

Legs-up-theWall Pose
ViparitaKarani Legs up the Wall is a restorative inverted pose that is wonderful for tired legs and swollen ankles. It brings relief to legs, feet, spine, and nervous system. This inverted pose will let blood flow to your belly, improve overall circulation and provide you with restorative energy and relaxation. It’s recommended for all yoga students, no matter their level of experience. It is often done at the end of a yoga practice, before the final relaxation pose for its calming benefits. It can also be practiced on its own, as an everyday restorative pose. It helps to relief anxiety, headache, migraines, insomnia, muscle fatigue, high and low pressure, premenstrual symptoms, urinary disorders and digestive problems.
HOW TO Simply lie down flat on the ground, or place a pillow underneath your lower back for support, and straighten out your legs against the wall.
Extend your arms out to the side with your palms to face up and make sure your heels are stacked over your hips. For more support, place a small rolled towel under the back of your neck. To add more stretch to your thighs and hips spread your legs wide into a “V” shape.
To come out of the pose, slowly push yourself away from the wall and slide your legs down to the right side.
How long: hold the pose for 5 to 10 minutes, or for however long feels comfortable for you.
DON’T
practice this pose if you have eye problems, or a serious back or neck injury.
Corpse Pose
savasana Corpse pose is the traditional final resting pose for yoga practices. It is also known as the Final Relaxation. It is the ideal way to finish your practice and let your mind and body relax, relieve stress, reduce headaches and fatigue, and relax your central nervous system. No yoga session is complete without that final pose. Final Relaxation or Corpose Pose allows the body time to understand the new information it has received through a yoga session.
HOW TO Lie down flat on your back.
Let your feet fall out to either side. Bring the arms alongside the body with the palms to face upwards. Breathe naturally. Relax your body.
To come out of this pose, deepen your breath and begin to move your fingers and toes to awake the body.

Second Tip ifth Tip BE CONFIDENT! We have different personalities and different tastes. So whether you choose to have a small reception or a big ceremony, it’s all fine. It is YOUR special day and not anyone else’s. The most important thing is that you need to be self-confident with your choices. Simply because this is what you want and what you like. You don’t need to please or impress everyone because you can’t, and it’s OK! The purpose of a wedding is to share your happiness with your family and friends, and therefore it is their role to be happy for you; wishing you glowing life.
hird Tip
BE OPEN-MINDED TOWARDS
LAST MINUTE CHANGES & MISTAKES! Life isn’t perfect. And although no one would want a change in their plans, sometimes it happens. And you have to accept it! The trick is to do it willingly and happily! Bear in mind that the real important thing is that you’re going to tie the knot on this day. It is the beginning of your new life! You need to start it with positivity and relaxed attitude. This is what you always have to focus on. So whether the groom forgets his bow tie or your sister forgets your best lipstick at home, it is fine and will be fine; as long as you know and believe nothing is a major crisis.
LOOK GOOD, FEEL GOOD!
This works vice versa! More than once I felt like crap and found that the reason was: my hair was a mess, dark circles around my eyes, my nails were chipped. As I took care of all that, I felt a lot better. But sometimes it is the other way round! You look good but you’re attacked with tens of negative thoughts! In this case, you better STOP and think twice. Don’t let the negative ideas and “What If’s” eat you alive. You are way smarter than that!
RELAX!
This is not a tip actually. It’s more of an outcome of all the above-mentioned tips, if you apply them and truly believe in them. Not just those tips can help you relax; you need to think of what else can make you a lot less tense. Whether it’s a nice cup of coffee with your friends, a good book, or elseways; make sure to create your own private space that makes you feel calm and relaxed despite your busy schedule. And remember your schedule needs to be low-pressure and achievable.
CAN’T THINK OF WHAT EXACTLY RELAXES YOU? Let me share with you some effective techniques that worked like magic for me. You can try only one or all, whatever suits you:
Lie down in bed.
Just lie there doing nothing, preferably reflecting on how gorgeous and joyful your special day will be. You don’t have to actually fall asleep or stay in bed forever. Lying in bed will lower your heartbeat and put you automatically on a laid-back mode.
Breathe right. Deep breathing
contributes to a calmer you. You need to inhale to the maximum and fill your lungs with oxygen, then breathe out all the stress and negativity.
Have a drink.
You are edgy, your nerves are hot and you are having trouble falling asleep! Give such calming drinks a try. Herbal, green and chamomile teas are relaxing drinks with de-stressing results to instantly improve your mood. Just make sure to have the tea decaffeinated.
Try warm milk.
It can make you calm and relaxed, plus calcium and magnesium help lower blood pressure. You can add a little honey for a sweet antioxidant boost.
Get enough amount of water.
It releases endorphins that improves feelings of wellness throughout your
body, and encourages good sleep.
Say No to coffee. Limit your intake of caffeine and soft drinks as they lead to nervousness and mood swings.
Wear comfy clothes. It could be
your jogging pants, loose shirt, or your favorite slippers; just wear what makes you feel good, not tense.
Take a walk.
Now let’s be more practical here. If you feel too lazy to walk or can’t find that right spot for having a decent walk, try to push yourself. Believe me, it is worth it. Best spots for walking would be a safe area with a lot of greenery. You can also hit the gym and work out to release all the stress.
Take a bath.
Fill the bathroom with candles. Set the water to the right temperature; not too hot not too cold, just warm. And then relax. Bath salts do help. Believe me I tried them. Salts are meant to clean and soften the skin giving you a fresh and vibrant sensation. It can be a short bath, not necessarily an eternal one. Although once you get in there, I bet it would be difficult to get out; so relax.
Opt for mood boosters. Prepare
a dish of fresh fruits. Or simply eat some dark chocolate. Dark chocolate is mostly cocoa beans; a healthy plant that stimulates mood. So here is your chance to pamper yourself and not feel guilty about it.
Avoid processed foods.
They cause stress on your digestive system.
LAST BUT NOT LEAST; Always keep in your mind that everything will turn out just fine, if you take it easy on yourself and others. You don’t want to be a bridezilla and give hard time to everybody around you. Yes things may get out of control, but it is you who can get everything back on track. If things go crazy, remind yourself that you are creating a cherished memory not only for you, but also for your children and grandchildren who will be watching this in the years to come. Laugh at last minute problems. Make fun of the accidents. And stay true to yourself. Be the person that you were before the wedding and the person you’ll always be after it. Don’t let stress mess with your day. Enjoy it to the max! And one more thing from the heart…
Congratulations!

Your Guide to
Bridal START LIVING RIGHT
Interview with
Maya Nassar
W
By Ghada Sakr
e chatted with Maya Nassar; the Lebanese fitness model, certified trainer and sports nutritionist who has her own fitness show on MTV Lebanon; about the brides & grooms-to-be and how to get physically ready for the big day.
Our Magazine issue is
dedicated to the modern Cinderella, how can you help a bride look like A CINDERELLA ON HER SPECIAL DAY? My free mobile application; startlivingright, that has been ranked as number one application by Apple Store several times, offers health tips and advice to get into shape quickly. I would also advise the bride to follow the free downloadable guides on my website www. startlivingright.com which includes diets, exercise programs and lots of information.
What’s your advice to a bride & groom’s perfect body?
My advice is to work hard by exercising, and following a healthy diet. There is no such thing as results without putting in a lot of effort. Brides and grooms should not fall for scams. There are no miracle pills! The only way to get into shape is to follow a healthy diet and exercise.
With all the wedding planning, the couple most probably won’t have a single minute to workout. What do you suggest?
I personally disagree! Before my own wedding, I dedicated a special time for exercising; and I made it a priority! If getting into shape is important to someone, they will find the time for it; even if it means waking up earlier or exercising on weekends. Another option is for the bride/groom to exercise at home. This will save them the time of driving to the gym, and has the added advantage of picking the training time that suits them the most. A free downloadable home exercise guide, that any bride or groom can follow, is available on my website.
What are your top tips for brides and grooms to find their wedding Zen? 86
Magnificent
My dvice is not to stress too much before the wedding, and to plan everything in advance. It is very important to find some time to rest and get a good night’s sleep before the big day. Overdoing things or stressing too much might exhaust the bride/groom or even cause them to fall ill. A wedding will be the most special day of someone’s life, so the bride and groom should enjoy every moment of it.
When is the best time to start a diet before one’s wedding?
It takes 2 to 3 months to achieve a major body transformation, so my advice is for the bride and groom to get started a few months before the wedding.
Does the added stress of wedding planning make it harder for the bride/groom to lose weight? I do not think stress will prevent someone from losing weight, if they follow a healthy diet and regular exercise routine. However, some people tend to overeat when stressed out; as form of comfort eating. If this is the case; I would advise them to pay attention, and find alternative coping mechanisms. They can (for example) go to the gym, go for a walk, or talk to a friend instead.
What would be your top-tips for brides thinking about booking a personal trainer before the wedding? I believe personal trainers can be great motivation for a bride to get into shape before her wedding. My advice would be to visit several gyms and to discuss her personal goals with the managers, and see if they can offer her a suitable program to match those goals. It is also important to check that a personal trainer has proper certification. If a bride is unable to afford a personal trainer, she’s welcome to download my mobile app and follow one of the exercise programs available there.
Should brides TAKE VITAMINS or other dietary supplements ahead of the big day? I do recommend taking daily multivitamins to ensure that the body is getting all needed minerals and vitamins. However, this is not mandatory. If the bride is following a healthy diet, then I believe she can get all of her nutrition from food. I do not, however, believe a bride needs dietary supplements to get into shape. When training for my last competition, I did not take any supplements and still saw results.
How can A NUTRITIONIST help a bride?
A nutritionist can help a bride with a diet plan to get into shape for her wedding. A bride should make sure to pick a good nutritionist. And she should avoid anyone who tells her to go on a low calorie diet (anything below 1200 calories a day) or advises her to cut out any major food groups (i.e. carbs or healthy fats). The bride should not have to do anything extreme to get into shape; she just has to follow a well-balanced diet.
Does committing to a healthy lifestyle mean you have to give up on your favorite food for good?
Definitely not! Being healthy does not mean you can’t enjoy the food you like. It is just that you need to do so in moderation. You can still enjoy your favorite foods by having a cheat meal once or twice a week. However, I do not recommend eating junk food because it offers zero nutritional value and may even cause health problems in the future. It is important to note that a cheat meal means one meal only, and not an entire day of eating the wrong food.
What’s your piece of advice for the newlyweds to START LIVING RIGHT?
Newlyweds should see ‘being healthy’ as a lifestyle with no expiry date. They should exercise regularly and avoid foods that are high in fat or sugar. Their daily diet should include
fruits, vegetables, protein, healthy fats; and they should replace white carbs with brown carbs (i.e. brown rice, brown bread). I advise them to find a happy balance between being healthy and doing the things they enjoy. Many people believe that a healthy lifestyle is kind of a sacrifice or punishment, but I say that it is a reward because it makes your life so much better. You can still dine out, travel, socialize, and do everything you love to do; and be fit at the same time!
What is your advice for brides who need that extra push to get started with a new healthier lifestyle?
I would say find some form of emotional attachment to your goals. You need to establish why it is important for you to get into shape and how it will change your life for the better. When getting into shape means something to someone and when that person recognizes that it will change their life for the better, it motivates them to get started and makes it harder to give up.
What do you think is the ideal exercise to staying fit and healthy?
I would say weightlifting. Many women incorrectly believe that weightlifting will make them bulky or masculine but that is incorrect as women do not have as much testosterone as men to become masculine. Weightlifting shapes our body, builds up our metabolism and helps us lose fat much quicker. It also enables us to eat more overall calories without gaining weight.

Are You Tying the Knot with your
Cinderella / Prince Charming?
Questions to Ask! By Amy Farid
Marriage is a BIG decision! No matter
how long you and your significant other have been together, there are some simple questions that you should be able to answer about each other before you take that serious road to commitment.
Simple One: When is your partner’s birthday?
Let me just point one thing out; if you don’t know the answer to this question, PLEASE stop right here! No need to read the article. Seriously! If you don’t know something as simple as your partner’s birthday, it might be a fair deal awkward. And don’t tell me you rely on Facebook to tell you such an important thing! It’s not your neighbor’s birthday sweetheart!
Do you accept each other for
who you really are?
Here’s the problem. Sometimes we convince ourselves with something that is not even there. If you are getting married, you must truly accept one another with all the pros and cons. This means you realize no one is perfect! Everyone has limits and certain attributes that may be detestable to the other. So you gotta understand this: When you’re married, it’s not going to be all sweet! Marriage begins with change. Every party is trying to change the other. But no one can force it! It’s only for the love you share that you shall willingly do.
Why are you getting married?
This question works perfectly for our community. Let’s just face it! Parents are becoming rather determined to have their beloved daughters/sons get married ASAP. Well, here’s this fact! Marriage isn’t something to be taken lightly. And your reasoning for getting married shouldn’t be either! Make sure this decision is something you’ve prayed over and thoroughly discussed. Think twice. Get to know that person. You wouldn’t want it ending up nastily in a divorce, or even worse, living a nightmare. Wake up. it’s not a game, pumpkin!
Will you share finances together? Planning for the future is one item that couples don’t think about, until after marriage. This can cause strain on the relationship! If everything is talked about and planned before the wedding, then you’re sure to lead your life together with much less stress.
Are you willing to put him/her before yourself?
Can you see yourself with this person fifty years from now? If the answer is no, then you should re-think your decision to get married. Marriage is a lifetime 88
Magnificent
commitment that requires a daily pledge to love one another, regardless of how long you’ve been together. If you can’t put the needs of your future partner before yourself, it may be time to end the relationship; before it goes any further. However, if the answer is yes, then congrats! You’ve chosen your life partner and the best is yet to come!
Do you feel comfortable around his/her family and friends?
It is said that when you marry the individual, you marry the family and friends. And that IS absolutely true! If such harmony does not exist, it will not be as sweet as desired. Even if you’re both trying to avoid this trouble-arousing conversation of family and friends, it will eventually affect your relationship. At that point, before you get married, you should work harder. Try to overcome that obstacle. If you are really in love, you should be able to endure whomever and whatever.
Do you bring out the best in each other… or the worst?
There’s nothing worse than walking on eggshells or feeling off-balance in a relationship. If you find yourself avoiding tough conversations or stressed by them, it’s time to reevaluate. The right partner will support your ambitions and encourage your dreams to the extent of infinity. Know that. And act upon that! Your other half should draw out your best qualities and help you minimize the negative ones.
Are you proud of your partner?
After you get married, you are literally going to be living with each other for the rest of your lives. And you gonna be proud of the person you are spending the rest of your life with! Whether it’s because they are compassionate, successful, or just an amazing person; you should always be proud of who you’re going to get married to.
Are you interested in making your
partner the happiest?
Is making him/her happy a top priority of yours, and vice versa? This is the way it should be with your other half. This includes supporting and admiring their dreams and potentials. It also means not putting yourself first! While a successful marriage includes your happiness, you will still need to do your part; and not be always putting yourself first.
Do I deserve better?
Well, I saved the best for last! This one certainly is a little harsh; but if you are questioning yourself in this area, then give yourself some space before going any further. Marriage is one of the few times in life you can be as picky as you’d like. Consult yourself as much as you want, and never settle except for your true soul mate and the love of your life!

Bridezilla Happily Ever After
When
Meets
Groomzilla By Marwa Hasan
Getting married can add a tremendous amount of pressure on both ends.
And yes, brides aren’t the only ones getting overwhelmed before tying the knot! Marriage is not exclusively about the wedding, but also about building the couple’s dream nest; where they’re going to live. There are lots of things to take care of; families trying to impose, different opinions, decisions, lots of decisions! Couples have to deal with delays, workers and other small details that can be quite enough for them to get suicidal! And don’t underestimate the problem of working with a limited budget that never seems to work. Dealing with so many details and almost always so little time is a killer. Such clashes can bring the beast in each of you! As funny as it might sound, getting introduced to your bridezilla and groomzilla can show you a new side of your distinguished other. But remember the problems and pressure can either bring you closer or apart. So it’s your choice! Try to keep the damage at bay; because the more you get over together, the easier it’s going to be in your relationship (no one said it’s easy!) So let’s make it more constructive rather than destructive… 90
Magnificent
Communicate!
Happily Ever After
It’s very normal to find a voice inside of you that encourages you to attack. Your tone can always be on a high pitch. You’re always finding yourself urged to have shouting matches as conversations. But you know that is not communicating! Just try to keep your anger at bay and pick your battles wisely. In fact you should start early in your relationship. Talking about your dream house and wedding day beforehand really helps you find a middle ground. It also helps you set realistic expectations about what you want to avoid…that is a bigger (delayed) conflict. When it’s time, establish a plan of actions, with deadlines if possible. Organize. Assign roles to each other. And find out a way on how you would like things to be handled.
Listen! Sometimes what your partner needs is just vent their heart out to calm down, especially when struggling to keep both families happy and having to work with a budget. Try to listen without judging. And never, ever diminish what they’re going through, or belittle what an enormous task arranging a wedding is. Even if it feels futile to you, it’s huge, to them!
Support! Be involved! At the end of the day, it’s your life too. So go share the responsibility. Being involved makes your partner feel cherished. And be careful not to break any of your promises.
Help each other in reevaluating your priorities, and what to freak out
about first. Remember that not all things have to be perfect. Sometimes ‘good enough’ can be just enough!
When in doubt, say the magic words:
“What can I do to help?” Maybe it’s just a simple thing they need, but they’re too proud to ask for. Maybe they just need some time alone. Or just need your opinion. And speaking of; if asked about your opinion, say it honestly but be considerate and careful about what you say. Offer positive feedbacks and solutions, not just criticism.
Don’t forget to praise them for doing a great job. And this goes both
ways. Treat your bride like a princess, and treat your groom as a prince! It’s important to shower her/him with affection, attention and compliments about the hard work they have been doing.
Give Each Other
Time-outs!
Help each other take your minds off the whole hectic process. Go on a dinner date or a movie night or any other fun activity in which no wedding talk is allowed.
Cut Them Some Slack! It might be frustrating when you fail to satisfy your partner no matter how much you try; but don’t panic. You need to understand that this type of behavior is perfectly normal. Also you need to grasp that, at some point, there is a world that revolves around your bridezilla. Even if she’s the sweetest, most selfless person; she would still need her turn to be the center of attention. Do not take it personally, if and when you’re treated badly. You are probably the only outlet for all her frustration and stress, and unfortunately you will be on the receiving end for much of it. You might think that your partner is being over-dramatic but don’t blame them, it’s just that they’re on an autopilot. Seeing the world from their scoop helps. Be understanding. Emphasize and give each other the benefit of the doubt.
Don’t Be
Shortsighted! Don’t forget what the wedding is all about; friends and family coming together for one day to celebrate, with the two of you, your new life together! It’s important to remember that it’s all temporary. And that you’re not alone. All couples have dealt with this kind of stress. Spend time nurturing each other and focus on the love and why you chose to spend your life together. When you look back, what would really matter? The center piece and the flowers, or the great time! And a word in the groom’s ear: even though it is a special day for both of you, it may end up being more about her little-girl dreams of a fantasy wedding. So eyes on the prize; once the wedding is over, things will get back to normal.
I promise you Magnificent

Eternal Happiness

Oh , what a feeling?!
It’s that special day that you have been dreaming of all your life. It’s that eye-catching white dress that you took ages to find. It’s that deep touchy feeling when you are leaving your parent’s castle to another palace with the one you chose to spend the rest of your life with. Mixed Feelings! Your heart is beating out of your chest. You are happy and worried at the same time. You want equally to smile and cry. You want to dance and never stop. And you wish that the day never ends. But it passes in a heartbeat!

Hold on for a moment! Stay positive and optimistic. If you need some advice to make it your best day ever, then check out all those super simple wedding tips:
Marriage isn’t just about the wedding day! It’s a life
full of ups and downs. Laughter and misery. And you have to make sure you are up to all those challenges.
Don’t compare your life with anyone else. You and your spouse are two completely different characters than everyone else.
“Happily ever after is not a fairy tale .
Enjoy every moment as if it was the last moment
in your life.
Be frank and precise & don’t disguise.
Don’t ever let your feelings bottle up. Open up before it gets crashed.
Marriage is not only house and kids. It is an emotional
contract between two people who decided to spend the rest of their lives together! Both should be committed to this contract’s rules and regulations. It can never be a win-lose battle. It has to always be a win-win situation. You are not two enemies fighting in a war, you are two partners following the same path.
It ’s a choice .” There are no criteria for a happily-ever-after
marriage except for endless love and care, mutual respect and effort to make the relationship work out and come over any obstacles.
Treat her like a queen, so she will treat you like a king!
Be her best friend. Not just her husband! She will
then forever be that gorgeous gal you wished to stay all your life with.
Love can survive after marriage? Maybe
Yes, or maybe No. It only depends on “YOU”. Love is a motive to overcome all gaps; but if you didn’t fill the gaps, then you might lose the love.
Kill routine before it ruins your life.
Try to always think outside the box, and try to keep your marriage alive!
Get the crazy insides out! Just be yourselves! Don’t care about the others. Get the guts out!
Ladies:
To Every Gentleman:
Love yourself first. You deserve to be pampered! Don’t expect a prince charming to catch you on his white horse. Be realistic. Fairy tales are myths, imaginative, not real my darling!
Please be a true man! Don’t underrate her powers and capabilities. Don’t neglect her feelings. Don’t escape from the long conversations. If she talks and talks, that means she loves to know your opinion. She loves to involve you in her problems and her important issues. So don’t spoil it and disappoint her by your IGNORANCE AND SILENCE. Just Listen!
Trust: Be always up to your partner’s expectations. Don’t ever lose trust between the two of you. Trust is the backbone of any relationship!
There is no perfect wife or husband. There are two people who love to be with each other, and who could forgive and move on. It’s up to them to make their life together a heaven or a hell!

Q1: What are your criteria for choosing your future husband? The key ones are him being sincere, accepting that my family is a priority, and being my friend.
Q2:
What are your expectations of marriage? I expect it will be tough. It’s two different personalities with two individual lifestyles living in the same place, trying to accommodate to every situation and accept each other’s differences. So my main concern is creating a close-knit family and a stable win-win relationship. Would you marry a man you don’t know much and give it a try? The idea is not to get married and satisfy the community. I don’t need to be married unless it’s an added value to my life. I already have my work, my life, and I travel alot. I need marriage to have a successful family; as Quran guided us; “love and mercy between two hearts”.

Ambitious & Optimistic Couple
Q4: What’s your perception of a successful marriage? Successful marriage is when two people decide to put a lot of effort into their relationship to be role models for their children. In order to succeed in that; the couple should have mutual understanding and respect, and never underestimate each other’s capabilities and ambitions.
Q5: If you could choose one,
which celebrity would be your ideal husband? Well, if I found someone who fits all the above-mentioned criteria, then he would be my only idol!

Q1: What are your criteria for choosing your future husband? There are a lot of traits I wish to find in my future husband. However, the most important ones to me are honesty, loyalty and above all being my best friend. He doesn’t have to be rich but he needs to be ready for marriage (financially and psychologically) and

able to take on the responsibility of having a family.
Q2:
What are your expectations of marriage? From all that is going on around me and my observation to all married couples I know, I came to the conclusion that marriage is hard. Some days both spouses may hate each other’s guts and other days they can’t keep their hands off each other! Also, things go different after having kids; when having him/her in your life is the norm and the spark is lost. I don’t mind all of this, nothing in life is easy, and marriage isn’t an exception! But at the end of the day, I need to feel safe. I need to be sure that whenever things get tough, he will stick by my side; even if he can’t stand looking at my face.
Q3: Would you marry a man you don’t know much and give it a try? Hmm, no. We may get engaged and meanwhile get to know each other; but to marry a man blindly, that won’t happen! Marriage is not an experiment. It’s a life. A whole new life! I have to be at least 80% sure that it might work before giving it a try.
Q4:
What’s your perception of a successful marriage? Patience. Honesty. Appreciation and loyalty. Giving each other some space. And the willingness to change. But the most important one to me, personally, is never to give up on each other. Never ever stop trying to fix things when they get broken, and never stop showing love in every way possible.
Q5: If you could choose one,
which celebrity would be your ideal husband? Well, Chandler Bing from the TV series “Friends”. He feels like the greatest husband ever! Always, endlessly, supporting and loving his wife.
Q1:
3
What are your criteria for choosing your future wife? The most important criteria in my opinion are good chemistry, openness and mutual understanding. Building a family is not an easy task. Love, which creates the emotional bond between couples, has to be paired with intellectuality and willingness to carry out the task of building trust. This is what would keep their company together solid and progressive for years to come.
Q2:
What are your expectations of marriage? I expect a feeling of love, serenity, contentment and trustworthiness; that would help the relationship take on all challenges. I also expect an adventurous and exploring relationship since such qualities keep marriage from getting dull and boring.
Q3: Would you marry a woman
that you don’t know much and give it a try? I think I’d do that! Simply because of the fact that whatever the level of knowledge two people have about each other (even when they are in love), the scope of marriage puts them together in a position where there are always new stuff to discover. I don’t believe there’s a 100% risk-free marriage; and this is part of the game that makes it interesting, if it’s rationally taken into consideration.
Q4:
What’s your perception of a successful marriage? Successful marriages rely on mutual trust and transparency. A marriage that keeps the benefits of both partners in check, and not one over the other, is what makes it successful.
Q5: If you could choose one,
which celebrity would be your ideal wife? Since I haven’t met any of them, I will go with my early teenage crushes. I’ve always thought Penelope Cruz or Monica Bellucci would be my type.

Q1: Does love exist after marriage? Sure! Love exists after marriage. It just evolves.
Q2: Make SWOT analysis of your married life. Strength: Unity Weakness: Lack of experience and hesitation towards some decisions Opportunities: As we are together, there will be always new opportunities Threats: Life pressures and responsibilities.
Q3: Make up your own quote of marriage Our quote is “with marriage, two become one”.
Q4: What if you could turn back
time, what would you change about your marriage life? Nothing! We believe in destiny and that we had the best of what God had in store for us.
Q5: What’s your advice to newlymarried couples? Our advice is to evenly share responsibilities and enjoy their own time together before getting stuck in parenthood commitments.
Q6: What’s your perception of a successful marriage? Partnership and marrying your best friend.
Q7: How do you see your spouse? Which celebrity is he/she similar to? Basma said “my celebrity is my beloved husband; I can never picture anyone else.” And of course Ahmed’s answer was so obvious, he couldn’t say anything different or else he’d be screwed! Well done beloved couple, keep love in the air!
5
Q1: Does love exist after
marriage?
Love is stronger after marriage, if the partners work on it. If not, it will fade away. It is a dual effort same as the ping-pong theory.
Q2: Make a SWOT analysis of your
married life. Strength: Love, support, care, family feelings and kids. Weakness: Commitment, responsibility, misunderstanding and a controlling spouse. Opportunities: There is always a chance every day to change oneself and to appreciate the sacrifices and compromises of the other. Threats: At a certain time; if we couldn’t understand or bear each other, it means failure of marriage!
Q3:
Make up your own quote of marriage. The nearest to my mind is the Arabic proverb: ”Elgawaz zay el batee7’a” (marriage is an uncut watermelon).
Q4:
What if you could turn back time, what would you change about your married life? If time could turn back; I would marry the same person but I wouldn’t make the same decisions, especially in my career life.
Q5:
What’s your advice for newlymarried couples? My advice is concerning the premarital stage; the engagement duration is very important to set the tone for a successful marriage.
Q6:
What’s your perception of a successful marriage? Generally for any couple, I think the vertebral column of any relationship is “el-mawwada we el-rahma” (love and mercy). With these terms we will love, respect and value our relationship.
Q7: How do you see your spouse?
Which celebrity is he similar to? Actually I see him not similar to any celebrity. I see him as a beloved, caring husband and a role model father.
A Word in Your Ear Sometimes you have to stay out of the box to evaluate your saved items and make sure you chose the suitable and the valuable ones to save, or else “the boat will sink”. Being inside the box requires mutual effort and mature understanding from both partners to be able to accommodate to all the ups and downs in their relationship.
Whether you are “in or out of the box”, you just need to think twice before making any decision and never take anything for granted. Magnificent

Hi
B r i d e
My name is Marwa. I’m individual, independent and solitary non-traditional girl. And that’s not in view of being cool and different but just that I wanna be in charge of my own decisions. I don’t pursue a cult. I don’t follow a family tradition. And I don’t string along with friends. I have my own rules, my own measures and I take full responsibility for my own choices.
As part of my non-traditional approach, it comes natural to me to go minimalist. And as a
newlywed, it feels like I have just come back from war! Following nothing but my logic makes me feel pretty much unorthodox in this country. But to be fair, it’s not just about this country! Human beings in general like to go with what is known to them and what they used to do. That’s why I am always questioned and scolded for my choices.
It wasn’t easy
defying the known, or sticking to what makes me comfortable. I have lost count of the times I was judged and labeled as a depressed, worthless and stubborn. If sticking to what makes you who you are is considered so awful, I’m so cool with all the nicknames!
I won’t claim that I exactly knew what I want, but at least I knew what I didn’t want in the process of moving out and getting married. So let me take you to a journey of how it’s like not to want the stuff everybody wants!

I don’t know about those rules everyone is talking about, for all I know is how to break them. I know how to get by in my life. I know that following people preordained path in life would only make me miserable. Why would you drop out of school? Why would you quit your boring job without another job in hand? Why wouldn’t you play by the book of traditional house roles? Those are a few of the dump things I am frowned upon and that I decided to disregard in my life. Why people drive me to follow their steps? Should we all be clones? A monochrome of the same palette? That would make the word so boring! At the end, it’s my life and what’s making me comfortable. I know this might strike some of you, but it all about being your true self with no ties or pretense.

When we think of Prince Charming, noble traits come to mind. We think of someone who is aristocratic, charismatic, handsome, brave, wealthy and romantic! He’s every girl’s fantasy and is always surrounded by lots of damsels who wish to live Happily Ever After with him. Truly, who wouldn’t?!
SO WHAT TYPE OF GIRL would capture the Prince’s heart?
Whether in reality or fairy tales, Prince Charming is an ordinary human being who searches for real love. In the fairy tale, Cinderella the ordinary girl, won the heart of the prince. And it happened many times in real life that a prince rose above royalty and throne to marry a commoner!
If you are expecting Prince Charming, you have to be his Cinderella.
How?
Let’s go through Cinderella’s features and see!
She’s not a PLAYER
Believe it or not! Men aim for stability same like women,
and they ditch playful queen bees to live in a house full of warmth. They can sacrifice their staring lives, if she is the one to depend on and to build a HOME with!
She is SPONTANEOUS She is natural! She loves life, runs, laughs from heart, plays like little kids, and speaks her mind out without worrying about others. She knows how to enjoy life and have a lively soul that makes people around her really feel good.
She is the one to TRUST For someone who is surrounded by lots of lady hunters, a real person is what would stand out for the prince. He’ll ask himself whether she really wants him for who he is, or for what he has to give?! The key to any man’s heart is trust. And the winner is the one who checks that trust box, in his mind. He will trust her with his heart as well, because he can feel it’s genuine.

Magnificent
She’s her own CHARACTER He would have super models, rich girls, party chicks, or whatever he wants; but his Cinderella would be quite different than that! She doesn’t have to be that glossy person as her simplicity is what he’s been missing in his elegant world. Being unlike anyone else he knows is one of the attributes that would massively attract him.
She’s NOT FAKE She is a real person. She doesn’t pretend to be someone else, or try to do things that she’s not used to just to please others. She’s just being herself knowing that people would love her for who she is.
She’s for BETTER and for WORSE
Cinderella doesn’t realize that the Prince is royalty. She is impressed only by his character. She cares about him more than anyone else. She’s a good listener when he wants to talk, and she talks when he needs to listen. She stands by him when he needs her and shares good and bad times with him.
