JOHN DRAMANI MAHAMA PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF GHANA Under the Theme, “Rising to the Challenge: Re-aligning the Budget to meet Key National Priorities” , the Budget statement has the following are the key highlights: 1. The Establishment of Infrastructure Fund which the government hopes will change fundamentally the funding and delivery of infrastructure in the country. It is also expected to reduce cost, enhance timely payments, and promote more efficient delivery of capital projects. . Considering that lack of infrastructure remains a major hindrance to the transformation of the country in terms of the road, rail and energy to facilitate trade and expansion of businesses, the government hopes to, Support to local industries, Removal of taxes on HIV imported products;
Hon. Seth E. Terkper Removal of taxes on printing material – providing business, making Ghanaian printers more competitive; Provision of credit support for SME development It hopes to use of oil resources for targeted infrastructure development and focus on ongoing and pipeline projects to enhance speedy achievement of related development outcomes Other highlights include: Innovative debt management strategy Refinancing strategies and use of long term funds to fund capital projects; Adopting escrowing and other innovative methods of debt financing; . performance for 2013 Real Sector, the government reported that The provisional real GDP growth in2013 is7.4 per cent, down from the 2012 growth of 7.9 per cent. . The provisional 2013 real GDP amounts to GH?32,332 million is slightly higher than the 2013 projected real GDP of GH?32,109 million. The 2012 real GDP output was GH?30,099 million. On Inflation, it reported that inflation rose persistently from 10.1 per cent in January 2013 to 11.8 per cent in July, dropped slightly to 11.5 percent in August and then rose to 13.1 percent in October 2013 The stock of public debt (including Government guaranteed debt) stood at US$23,498.76 million (53.5 percent of GDP) at the end of September 2013 compared with US$19,150.78 million at the end of December, 2012 (49.3 percent of GDP). • External debt amounted to US$10,794.54 million (24.6 percent of GDP) at end-September 2013. • Domestic debt totaled US$12,704.22 million (28.9 percent of GDP) at end-September 2013 cont'd on pg. 5

Apostle Emmanuel Bediako passes away at 59 By Emmanuel Ayiku, Toronto
uel Owusu Bediako died on Thursday November 28, 2013 in Huston, Texas, USA after a protracted illness. Apostle Bediako and family were welcomed to the Church of Pentecost Canada on Sunday October 25, 2009 in Toronto. He was the 4th National Head of the Church after Apostle A.K. Miah ended his term in Canada.

He is a Church planter who has helped plant and nurtured many Pentecostal churches in the USA, Canada, Germany, Japan, Korea, Switzerland and other European countries. He is also a seasoned international conference speaker and the author of the Book of Books: A History of The Bible (2008). Before his divine call into full-time ministry, Apostle Dr. Bediako was a professional banker. He is married to Mama Faustina Bediako, a writer, teacher, and a nurse. They are blessed with four girls – Christie, Portia, Esther, and Eunice. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
