My experience of having heart rhythm problems drove me to pursue cardiac nursing and ultimately the specialty of electrophysiology. It is often comforting for a patient to hear my story when they may not know anyone else who has gone through the same thing. I know how much curing my arrhythmia has changed my life and it is a blessing to be able to help others in the same way.

Excellent care is a patient expectation. It’s “a given”. The patient expects us to be certified and knowledgeable doctors... period. As for excellent service, the key word is compassion, and reflects back on our oath to always see our patients as fellow human beings in need of our care. If we remember that, then providing excellent service becomes second nature to us, and by example to our nurses and support staff.
