Georgia Skull Base Center Skull base tumors and diseases of the skull base region can affect the brain, hearing, vision and balance if not properly treated. The Georgia Skull Base Center offers surgical procedures for benign and malignant skull base tumors, cerebral aneurysms and diseases of the skull base—part of the body that separates the brain from facial structures—to adult and children patients throughout the Southeast. Our team of experienced skull base surgeons includes an otolaryngologist, neurosurgeons and other surgical specialists who work together to deliver leading-edge multidisciplinary care and surgery for skull base tumors and disorders. Our center is the only one of its kind in the Augusta area and the first in Georgia to offer complete endoscopic endonasal skull base surgery, a technology that has revolutionized the management of many types of skull base tumors and lets surgeons remove tumors that were once inoperable. The Skull Base Center offers a range of surgical options, including: • Minimally invasive endoscopic endonasal surgeries • Traditional open skull base surgeries for patients who are not candidates for minimally invasive options
