Amanat declared best player of the final MURIDKE: All rounder Amanat Ali guided LahoreMuridke Lions beat Sialkot Stallions by a convincing margin of 31 runs in the final to lift the All Punjab Special peoples T-20 cricket cup played at the Sheikhupura Municipal Stadium on April 20. The event was a joint effort of Special Peoples Welfare Society Muridke and Pakistan Special Peoples Cricket Association aimed to provide a chance to special people to prove their merits and show that they were brave enough to face the difficulties of the life. Batting first, Lahore-Muridke Stallions scored 142 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Master Aamant scored polished 47 runs while Haider and Fiaz contributed 35 Cricket baba chanting slogans and 15 runs respectively. Sohail and Ali Haider captured two wickets each. Chasing the target, Stallions were all out for 111 runs. Kashif made 37 runs while Ali Haider scored 21 runs. Fiaz Ahmad grabbed three wickets. Master Amanat captured two while Shehzad and Sohail took one wicket each. Master Amanat of Lahore-ions was declared man of the match for his all round performance. Famous cricket figure Chacha cricket Sufi Abdul Jalil graced the occasion and made it memorable with his motivational slogans and dances. The players were awarded in a simple but graceful prize distribution ceremony attended by a large number of dignitaries that included member provincial assembly Haji Ghulam Nabi, Ali shabbarsteup orgnaizatin Islam Abad, EDO Finance Sheikhupura Afzaal Hussain, EDO Education Ghiasuddin Sabir, Director SA Gardens Malik Shoaib, Saith Tariq Mehmood, Chairman Special Peoples Welfare Society Dr. Muhammad Amjad Amad, Deneral Secretary Shahid Mehmood Rehmani, Naseer Ahmad Rehmani, Aamir Bhatti and Nayar Gill Joya who gave away the prizes. The distinguished gusts praised the efforts of the President Special Peoples welfare society saith Muhammad Akram and his companions Ihtsham-ul-Haq, Mian Saadat Ali and Qasim Ali Shah for arranging such a good event for the disable cricketers to provide them a chance to show their passion for the popular game. As many as four teams had participated in the event that included Lahore-Muridke Lions, Sialkot Stallions, Sheikhupura Stags and Gujranwala Preparation forprize distribution Combine. The event was played in two stages ceremony from April 13 to 20, 2011. The opening ceremony was held at Khayaban cricket Ground Muridke on April 13. In the first match played at Khayaban ground, Stallions beat Sheikhupura Stags by four wickets. Sheikhupura set a target of 180 runs losing their six wickets. The Stallions reached the target with style for six wickets with one over to spare. Muhammad Sohail was declared man of the match for his magnificent 72 runs off 53 balls.
In the second match played at the same venue on April 14, Lahore-Muridke Lions won the match against Gujranwala Combined. Batting first after winning the toss, Gujranwala scored 162 runs for 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Haider scored 44 runs of 39 balls. Lions chased the target witout any loss in just 13.5 overs. Opener Sohail and Hadeed Bhola gave 86 runs stand off 41 balls. Sohail scored 54 runs off 42 balls while 22 extra runs helped the Lions to reach the target. Hadeed was awarded man of the match. The players were awarded in a graceful ceremony at the end of the matches. The distinguished guests to grace the ceremony included EDO finance Afzaal Hussain, EDO agriculture Ch. Abdul Ghafoor, Chairman Lahore Country Club Muridke Ch Ali Shujaat, MD Khayaban Ghee Mills Ch Falak Sher Cheena, Director Al-Syed group CNG station Syed Mudasar Hussan,Ssyed Tasadaq Mehmood, Dr. Salim Chaudhary, Chief Editor Chatan News Gujranwala Dr. Almas Sultan and Saith Tariq Mehmood. Addressing on the occasion, the guests of the ceremony congratulate the organisers for a successful event that provided a chance Winner Captain to the disable cricketers to participate in the healthy activities and hoped that such events would be held in future to provide maximum chances to the special people to prove the merit.
