From 28 to 30 January, we hosted our biggest event yet - SRP Europe 2020. This conference has long been the top event for senior structured product decision-makers, bringing together institutions from across the global alternative investment space for over 18 years.

This year, over 300 delegates united to listen to the 40+ speakers who took to the stage to deconstruct the most pressing challenges our industry is facing, and produce a roadmap for its growth and development. Key topics for discussion included ESG, the growing need to find alternatives to autocallables, and the impact of new technologies on the manufacturing and distribution of structured products.

As a producer, this event was a real pleasure to attend - while Brexit or the looming threat of another financial crisis could have dominated the conversation, the energy and positivity in the conference room were palpable.

KEYNOTE SPEAKERS

Lars has over 20 years’ experience in government and banking, and is the founder and owner of Markets and Money Advisory and is a senior fellow at London’s Adam Smith Institute.

Lars worked for five years as an economic policy analyst at the Danish Ministry of Economic Affairs (1996-2001). He has a master’s degree in economics from the University of Copenhagen (1994). He is particularly known for having been head of emerging markets research at Danske Bank in Copenhagen. In this role, he authored numerous pathbreaking economic reports on particularly Central and Eastern Europe.

In 2006-8, he co-authored a number of reports warning of a coming economic meltdown in Central and Eastern Europe, and co-authored the “Geyser Crisis” report in 2006, which correctly forecasted a major economic and financial crisis in Iceland.

Lars is the author of Milton Friedman – en pragmatisk revolutionær (Milton Friedman – a pragmatic revolutionary) published in November 2002. He has contributed to numerous other books. He is internationally recognised as a specialist on the economic teachings of Milton Friedman and the history of monetary thought.

Susanne Chishti is the award-winning CEO of FINTECH Circle, Europe’s first angel network focused on fintech opportunities. She is also the founder of the FINTECH Circle Institute, the leading fintech learning platform offering innovation workshops to C-level executives and online courses. She is also non-executive director of Crown Agents Bank, JLG PLC and Kompli Global.

Susanne is the co-editor of The FINTECH Book - a bestseller that has been translated into 10 languages and is sold across 107 countries, as well as The WealthTECH Book and The InsurTECH Book published by WILEY in 2018. In 2020 The PAYTECH Book, The AI Book and The LEGALTECH Book will be launched – all of which Susanne has also co-edited.

After completing her MBA, she started her career working for a fintech company (before the term fintech was even invented) in the Silicon Valley 20 years ago. She then worked for more than 15 years across Deutsche Bank, Lloyds Banking Group, Morgan Stanley and Accenture in London and Hong Kong.
