FOURNIE

Julien Fournié presents his Haute Couture collection via a new form of expression for a fashion designer: for the first time, he is directing his first movie entitled “First Storm”. “In the post Me Too, post Black Lives Matter era, in the middle of a world health crisis, I consider it my duty as a couturier, to suggest a vision that includes enchantment and magic and promotes imagination,” declares the founder of the House which, since its inception, has consistently supported feminists and diversity. “It is about doing everything within our power to avoid the totalitarianism of gloom. “ In this movie, Julien Fournié introduces three young women into a contemporary, dreamlike and glamorous environment. As if attracted by a helter-skelter or a roller-coaster in an amusement park, they explore five different surroundings. In each of them, they experience a new test, like the heroines in a fairy tale. Immersed in the fashion designer’s fetish worlds and under his secret guidance, they will find their own legend. In other words, they will highlight their true personality. Constantly trying to stretch proportions on the female body thanks to an essentialized cut, Julien Fournié is focusing on sleeve architecture, sharp bust sculpture, and movement in chiffon dresses and tulle petticoats. Elongating women’s bodies, Julien Fournié’s designs favor expert needlework, particularly with inlays, realized with embroidery, in semi-sheer materials, in feathers. His designs add lightness to refinement, with tight pleats, ruffles of chiffon and layers of transparency. Both film and collection aim to re-enchant the vision of women. A lifelong cinema lover, the couturier immerses his muses into symbolic worlds, winking at all the film directors he respects and admires, from Georges Méliès to Quentin Tarantino, including Jacques Demy.

Charlotte Siné of Monaco’s exclusive interview for Lookbook Magazine Lookbook : There are many paths in life you can take, and you have chosen one involving art. Can you tell us more about what led you to take this path? Charlotte : I chose the field of Art and Architecture, simply through my passion for these worlds which, I think, allow us to define ourselves, as we are, in all our forms. On my father’s side, the whole family are musicians and indeed, from an incredibly early age, I have been immersed in these fields of creativity and self-expression, particularly through playing the piano and singing, which I practiced frequently during my youth and teenage years - especially through concerts and operas in which I had the opportunity of taking part. Lookbook : What is at the core of your inspiration? Charlotte : I draw my inspiration by observing the world around me every day. In art, I am inspired by the contemporary art movement such as the artist Basquiat, whose work with colours and so forth, I appreciate very much. In the architectural field, I am fascinated by the great architects such as Rem Koolhaas, Renzo Piano and by the leading agencies such as Snohetta or MVRDV for whom I greatly admire their work of design and implementation, the quality of the spaces they create and the concepts they stand by in their designs are what fuel my architectural studies and the development of myself in the world of today. Lookbook : If someone asked you to paint a picture of the World, which three colours would you choose first? Charlotte : Well, I would choose blue, which symbolises life on earth. Red, the colour of love, hatred and blood and lastly, white, reflecting the light that each person embodies. Lookbook: In your opinion, how did COVID-19 change the world of art? Charlotte: Covid-19 is rather problematic unfortunately even in the world of art. Museums and exhibitions are all cancelled or postponed. Art is increasingly being appreciated via the internet, through sales on specialised websites & through online auctions. I also find the virtual visits of exhibition galleries in some museums, such as the Quai D’Orsay, very fascinating. This offers a new way of looking at art, a new way of perceiving it and a new way for all these artists to rethink the way their work will be viewed and enjoyed. Lookbook : What is your dream when it comes to art and architecture? Charlotte : My dream - to constantly strive to grow, to carry out projects through my future architectural agency, while combining Art and Architecture. To be able to make a living from these marvellous creative professions and to share them with others - passion is beautiful and worthy of being experienced at all times. Lookbook : What are your plans for the near future? Charlotte : To conclude my studies. I’m currently enrolled in the first year of a Master’s degree at the National School of Architecture in Nantes and I only have one year left. I would love to be able to undertake internships in the agencies I like most, such as Renzo Piano’s Building Workshop, MVRDV, Snohetta, and eventually work in Monaco alongside talented architects from my country. Lookbook : Please tell us a little more about your passion for the piano. Charlotte : I have played the piano from a very early age and I have had musical training throughout my school years from the age of 6. The piano is a passion of mine like painting or architecture. I was lucky enoug h to participate in two operas when I was younger, Pulcini’s La Bohème and Boito’s Mefistofele, both of which I will treasure forever. Music is a tool that has guided me in my life, in my creative and reflective times, and remains an integral part of my everyday life. Lookbook : You also customize shoes. Where does fashion fit into your life? What are your views in regards to eco-fashion? Charlotte : Yes indeed, for my personal enjoyment and in parallel with my studies, I explore the possibility of designing clothing in the fields of Art and Drawing, while always sharing what I love with others. Art is meant to be shared and diffused, passion is lived and shared. Without sharing, and without the gaze of another, is there such a thing as life? As far as the eco-fashion is concerned, it should not be overlooked, in fact quite on the contrary. I was lucky enough to be involved in a photo shoot for an eco-responsible Parisian brand that incorporates this concept of eco-Fashion and represents a huge future potential - by reusing unused salmon skins and converting them into leather. This approach is in accordance with the movement undertaken by everyone in order to move towards more eco-responsible decisions. Lookbook : Do you also enjoy speed and adrenaline like your sweetheart, Formula 1 champion, Charles Leclerc? Charlotte : We share many mutual passions, notably music, art and architecture, sport etc. As far as speed is concerned, I have been fortunate enough to have had several unforgettable experiences with Charles, filled with adrenaline and great thrills. Lookbook : What makes you happy about your job? Charlotte : What makes me happy ? Absolutely everything that I experience on a daily basis. This desire to create, to study, to travel, to share lovingly, to be inspired, to cultivate myself and to have the freedom to express myself without any limitations while retaining my passion. Lookbook : Thank you Charlotte. We wish you all the best for your upcoming endeavours. Charlotte : Many thanks to you.

Art and music have always been at the heart of the house’s DNA. For Fall-Winter 2021, youth is invited to Maison Smalto, which carved for them a relevant, modern, comfortable and refined wardrobe. Through the two members of Faux Real — wearing Smalto — who perform their song “Kindred Spirit” in front of the camera, the mythical figure of the dandy reappears in a new, contemporary version. Under the keen eye of fashion editor Pam Boy, one of the most influential voices of the new generation of Londoners, the artistic director of this video, Maison Smalto presents a duo of night owls just escaped from a Swinging London club, wearing a royal blue suit over a silk shirt and a vest worn next to the skin, before finding them again a little later, an emblematic red carnation on the lapel of their collar.

SMALTO PARIS

Freedom, according to Maison Smalto, also means daring to turn one’s own codes upside down. The precious heritage of bespoke tailoring — the art of cutting, precision of workmanship and finishes — is put to good use to develop a contemporary and personal Parisian style: when Virgile Arndt wears his tuxedo without a bow tie, with cigarette pants in lambskin, his brother Elliott dons loose fitting pants with a tailored belt, a turtleneck and sneakers. On some striped poplins, the name of the House founder, Francesco Smalto, forms the signature chalk stripe. On some cashmere coats with cut-edge hems, Maison Smalto’s new logo is repeated endlessly in a jacquard pattern. This season, the Maison Smalto atelier has developed a complete wardrobe with an emphasis on freedom of movement. Tailoring know-how combines with modern techniques and materials to create an ultracomfortable wardrobe with a perfect fit. No need to oppose elegance and comfort anymore: at Maison Smalto, lightness and sophistication are combined in a casual-chic fashion that makes no concession s on style. The objective of the Parisianbrand is to shape, throughout the seasons, a daring masculine allure anchored in its time - a certain attitude that does not allow itself to be confined to a codified and conventional category. Each piece in the collection, from cashmere jackets and sweaters to technical parkas and the classic suits, is designed to combine the nobility of tailoring with a strong sense of style.

As a way to ward off the gloomy and anxious atmosphere that weighs on the world, Maison Smalto defends a resolutely modern vision of its heritage, and positions itself as the voice of a new generation of dandies who recognize themselves in the avant-garde vision of its founder.

Juana Martín presents her SS21 collection Cordoba, Heritage of Fashion on January 27th during Paris couture Fashion Week, inspired by the four places in Cordoba designated as World Heritage Sites by UNESCO.

The four places in Cordoba designated as World Heritage Sites by UNESCO : The Mosque of Cordoba, The Old Town, The Patios Cordobeses and The Medina-Azahara have served as a source of inspiration for Juana Martín for the elaboration of her designs. Once again, the city where she was born and its unique and emblematic places are references for the designer. “We can say that they are engraved in my DNA”, said Juana. The white of the lights of Medina Azahara (City of Light), the black of the intimacy of prayer at the Mezquita and the intense color of the buganvilla, so characteristic of the Cordoban Patios, are the signs of identity and emotions that the designer wants to convey through unique pieces. For the first time in fashion and thanks to the collaboration of the Cordoba City Council and the Delegation of Tourism of Cordoba, these four emblematic places will be the stage and the incomparable setting for the video presentation of the collection, which will be released for the first time on January 27th. All her pieces will have jewelry from the brand Facet, specially designed for this event. For Facet, a jewelry brand with more than 30 years of experience, the commitment to responsibility, transparency and integrity are very important in all production processes. Facet is proud to be one of the pioneers in being awarded TRACEMARK (traceability seal). Facet becomes the perfect travel companion for designer Juana Martin to add even more sparkle to this newcollection. This is an exciting project in which the City Council of Cordoba and the Delegation of Tourism of Cordoba have collaborated, allowing the use of these places to record the video inside the Mosque. It was the first time that the cameras recorded in this place. 52 | Lookbook Magazine April 2021

Interview: Passionate Swiss-Russian businesswoman is running her caviar company in the South of France and Switzerland. LookBook: Your caviar has an exceptional taste and the brand is well known by most demanding experts in Monaco. What is the secret of your production? Svetlana: CaviarPlaces is simply a story of the purity of the product and of human passion. While launching the company my deepest wish was to bring back the taste of so-called “fisherman caviar” that I used to eat almost every day in my childhood. LookBook: We know that you came to caviar business from private banking industry, how did you get the idea to launch your own brand? Svetlana: It happened absolutely naturally. While travelling around the world as a banker, I found out that it was barely impossible to get caviar of good quality, even in the most exclusive resorts and high cuisine restaurants. So I decided that CaviarPlaces should go to the places and bring pure and fresh caviar to the real caviar lovers. LookBook: Where is your caviar produced? Svetlana: Our caviar comes from Russia n fish cultivated in aqua farms in France. And I would like to underline, that today in caviar industry “made in France” guarantees the best expertise in production process. LookBook: One of your slogans says: eat caviar every day. Is it healthy and do you eat caviar every day? Svetlana: The main philosophy of our company is to share our passion for special a product and to live a special moment with caviar. So you can live the moment every day. Moreover, CaviarPlaces is natural, without colorants and other additives. It’s healthy and full of omega and good fats. As I’m originally Russian, I can eat caviar every day and I love to share this moment. LookBook: Are you satisfied with the results after six years of running your business? Svetlana: Today CaviarPlaces is a family owned company, presented in 14 countries including Japan. We have launched different services such as CaviarPlaces Club, CaviarPlaces catering, CaviarPlaces concierge. The company is well known in France, Monaco, Switzerland and other countries. I’m proud of our team and I’m happy when our clients become friends and when they send me photos of empty tins of caviar in the night. Honestly speaking, I have a lot of plans and being Russian-Swiss I can’t stop and tell that now I’m totally satisfied. It’s a story of balance and pleasure. I’m just living the moment.

Inspired by the Chinese martial arts culture, the models of the MARRKNULL Fall2021 collection used an extremely impactful expression technique-wire technique, to show MARRKNULL fun conceptual clothing. In the bleak dry woods in winter, on the yellow ground with densely fallen leaves, the twisted clothing and the flying scenes like crossing bring the illusion of time travel. This surreal magical scene is the visual expression of this season’s FW2021 series MARRKNULL’s exploration of the evolution of clothing in different eras of China. This season we try to interpret the concept of multiple way dress-up in a more subtle way. The structure of the two garments is cleverly combined on the same plane through the structure line of the seam. The oblique opening and closing buttons twist the hem into a waist seal, presenting a new shape on the body. The oblique body is presented in a structured way of folds, which visually strengthens the concept of dislocation through the splicing of fabrics in different directions. Through the enlargement method, different types of clothes are given new functions. The Tee shirt is enlarged into dresses and skirts, the shirt is enlarged into dress skirts, and the denim jacket and suit jacket are partially enlarged into silhouette midlength skirts. These different structures and dressing methods seem to merge together in a certain way of time travel. We try to use colors and fabrics with a calm, slightly faded and worn-out effect, hoping to find a touch of nostalgia in the slightly magical time travel experience, through the collision of conceptual silhouettes and worn-out color textures, to interpret different eras intersection. The last eight looks in the show are the complete expression of the concept of this season. Three different clothes are stitched together at the waist, so that one piece of clothing can be worn three times. When the different structure of the clothing has been separated from its own meaning, can we liberate the concept of clothing solidification and burst into more radical wear coordinate inspiration. MARRKNULL has been trying to do the same. We hope to divorce the inherent structure from its concept and let the fashion of different eras deviate from its era background, so as to create a unique MARRKNULL style.

MADELEINE

A Homage to Madeleine Castaing

ALPHONSE MAITREPIERRE DIGITAL COUTURE SS21 This ALPHONSE MAITREPIERRE Digital Couture Sping-Summer 2021 collection is a tribute to Madeleine Castaing the famous antique dealer and interior designer. Famous as much for her identifiable taste as for her free spirit, her love of mixing, not to mention her iconic chin elastic. Her original and whimsical personality allows her to mix, even at the time, a carpet with a leopard pattern and Napoleon III style furniture, to add exotic bamboo furniture, and antique objects, making her a true stylist.

Luxury down jacket brand TATRAS is pleased to release an artful campaign transporting the viewer to an untouched desert landscape. Brought to life through CGI, the concept gives a wink to magical realism bringing in wholly unexpected cameos. In a nod to the Tatras mountains, in several takes a sheep drops in, while others see the desert allegorically flecked with rain, contradicting both the location and the digital process. Shot by photographer Bethany Vargas on models Justine Biticon and Jaron Baker, the SS21 collection offers an original approach to down, focusing on where outerwear is worn. Ultralight down is spotlighted with masterful details from hidden minimalistic stitches and an elegant gloss to a light back body allowing for a spring breeze. A bolder offering comes in the form of blouson-like designs, embracing femininity with gathered details and statement cuts. Going quite literally from day to night, TATRAS reveals the orbit of its unparalleled designs.

LARISA ZELENAYA - ABOUT BEAUTY

Exclusive interview with an expert in the field of cosmetology How did your cosmetology career start? My career started in 2010. From a young age, I loved taking care of my face and body and always gave advice to my loved ones. As they say, my future career was predetermined. Beauty is undoubtedly an inner state. But some things are worth fighting for!

Do you use hardware cosmetology and how do you feel about it. If so, what is the most efficient apparatus and why. Modern hardware cosmetology is a rejuvenating and therapeutic procedure that is carried out by a cosmetologist using special equipment. I consider hardware cosmetology is the sister of hardware physiotherapy, which has been used in medicine for many decades. This area of cosmetology is developing very dynamically today. Newer, more efficient and safer hardware technologies emerge every year. Today, with the help of the latest cosmetic technologies, it is possible to significantly improve the facial skins: smooth out wrinkles, achieve cellular rejuvenation and eliminate possible visual defects. Most of the methods of hardware cosmetology use the capabilities of lasers, microcurrents, ultrasonic and light waves. Very often their impacts are complemented by traditional cosmetics - masks, serums, cocktails made from bioactive substances. I offer my patients a number of active hardware procedures, which I prescribe individually, strictly according to indications, taking into account a number of peculiarities. However, the most favorite and one of the most effective methods I find is the hardware program Jet Peel. This hardware technique for cleansing and moisturizing the skin has a number of multidirectional protocols that do not have a rehabilitation period and no contraindications. Jet peel is a painless skin peeling, in which a mixture of oxygen and nutrients, gently exfoliating and massaging the epidermis, delivers nutrients and vitamin cocktails under the skin without using a needle. Thus, this procedure combines peeling and injection-free Mesotherapy.

How often should you visit a beautician and at what age. I recommend visiting a beautician from the age of 26 and not neglecting home skin care. Do you think that cosmetic can be a panacea for aging? I am sure that correctly selected and prescribed cosmetic procedures and preparations are a panacea and may well defer the clearly visible signs of aging. What several brands would you recommend? Dermaceutic (France), Guinot, Zo skin health (USA); Hardware techniques Guinot (USA); Jet Peel (Israel) Tell us about your opinion on buccal massage and facial fitness. I have an excellent attitude to massage techniques and often combine them with manual procedures. Face injections. Yes or no. I welcome injections. However, I think everything should be in moderation and according to indications. I do not accept unnaturalness. And the best statement about beauty. Favorite saying: To be loved, the best thing is to be beautiful. But to be beautiful, you need to be loved! Love Yourself! Take care of the state of Your beautiful body and Your soul!
